  1. To be fair, with hundreds of Minimates and lots of variants of the main Marvel characters it can get a bit confusing when trying to identify parts reuse. I'm sure there are more mistakes than just the ones you mention!
  2. So we're all agreed the solution is sculpted bosoms?
  3. Yeah you managed to make the Hunter-Killer Tank look badass! Nice work
  4. I thought this was being funded by the makers of the comics themselves? Perhaps they saw how low the pre-orders were and thougt it wasn't worth it.
  5. You don't need both kidneys!
  6. Thanks for the pics. I also think the MAX stuff could really be a sleeper hit, the Jet looks really nice and as it's modular I might well try to pick up both colours.
  7. Which is why I said "using the retail channels they have available, without saturating the market". They obviously got good sell-through figures from TRU, so TRU then commissions more product, including stuff they know sells (using the sales figures). It sounds like a winner in my book.
  8. Hey Jay, I added GBMMA to my links section as requested
  9. I don't really have any grails at the moment. In the past it would have been Gold or Silver Spidey but I'm no longer a Minimates completist so I'm saner and wiser now hehe
  10. Pilot Batman is one of my all time favourite figures. I think they have done really well reusing those parts.
  11. There are actually two questions implicitly being asked here. Are TRU Minimates a good thing for the brand as a whole - Yes, absolutely. TRU is a huge chain of stores and their support helps bring mass market retail exposure to Minimates in a way that the specialty market can't. Are TRU Minimates a good thing for me personally -Being in the UK makes things very difficult but I actually find I want more of the TRU exclusives than the actual LCS waves these days because of the more varied character selection. I'm lucky I have had a US forum member adopt me I'd say Yes to this one too.
  12. TM2, with all due respect, that is absolute rubbish. DST is not making Minimates for collectors to buy as "investments". They are a company who is trying to get as much product out as it can to people who wants to buy it, using the retail channels that they have available, without oversaturating the market. To this end, the Ghostbusters "Best Of" waves are a big part of that. There are subtle changes to the re-releases as well as to the packaging, for all the completists, but the primary function is to get product back out onto the shelves for people to buy, in the knowledge that the production runs initially sold very well. It's a very sensible policy and one that I would love to see happen with the TRU Marvel stuff.
  13. It's good to get the full team in one go, plus a couple of villains. I'm actually guessing that this is a standalone wave and that wave 38 WON'T be FF-related, I agree with the speculation above.
  14. We tend to use the "Luke Signal" and shine a big Minimate up into the sky
  15. I hear you Lobsterman but for brand exposure getting back into Target would be golden.
  16. I read there is going to be a Doctor Who/Street Fighter crossover line
  17. Thanks for the pictures of the posters BHM, I was unaware of these!
  18. As much as I like the pic, that small dog in the background scares me!
  19. Thanks for that comprehensive round-up Storm, and also thanks to Ivan, Lobsterman etc for the on-the-spot news, you guys know we all massively appreciate it! Interesting to see TRU taking a punt with the MAX line. Shows how highly the regard Minimates currently if they are willing to risk non-licensed toys.
  20. Admittedly these are blurry pics that I have had to flick through while at work, but like a lot of you guys I'm just not feeling many of these.
  21. Getting a load of different coloured variants out in the Dump box format is actually not a bad move for DST. Hopefully that will keep recolours down in the main line.
  22. "Thousands of people across the world do not have access to Toys R Us exclusive Minimates. With your help, we can make the world a better place for these people. Just $5 a month will ensure they have the same opportunities for fresh, new Minimates that you take for granted. Please help. Please."
