Having raised three kids into young adulthood: I would rate Guardians as okay for your 5-year-old on TV, but not in a theater. The theatrical impact is incredibly heavy on those little kids and there is a fair amount of violence in the movie (akin to Avengers). Perhaps most dangerous: near the end civilians (including kids) are put in danger (hope that's not a spoiler for you). So yeah, my concern is not the graphic-ness of the violence, the but the impact the large screen would have a pre-schooler not used to such. My kids pretty much saw only Disney movies at that age. I remember we took them to Jumanji when they were tykes and we (the parents) had no fun -- the baby cried because of the volume, the 4-year-old got so freaked we had to leave half-way through and I'm pretty sure his older brother, while stoic, was glad for the excuse to bolt. So there's a measuring stick for you.

So now I'm confused. Gamora is not supposed to be at TRU? Because I am 100% certain I saw her in 2-pack just last weekend at the TRU in Bellevue, WA. I didn't know it was an aberration, so didn't take a pic or anything...

I've been moving the household this past couple of weeks and the number of toy pieces that have shown up as furniture is moved and closets emptied is surprising. So hang in there, fatcow, in a few years you could have a complete Lion-O again!

There was a time when Mega Bloks were cheap-o crap. But about the time Mega Brands got into Halo, they've worked to up their production value and that effort has paid off. While not quite the consistent quality of Lego, you won't be disappointed in the structural integrity of modern Mega Bloks.

I'm with you on that, Zach. Whatever the value of the game, the characters just look great.

Some of the sets are nonsensical, yes, but the chopper and the ring? Win! Isn't that what we Minimates collectors do, pick and choose from various lines to get what we need? In that respect, WWE Stackdown has been a good thing.

But as Kubricks (since this is the Kubrick thread), Ma.Kub are my favorite Kubricks of all. Period. When they were new, they were reasonably easy to collect. And a Minimate head settled inside the armor looks great.

While they don't technically transform, I'm pretty damn sure the Be@rbrick does come apart and snaps into addintional parts to make the Autobot. That is frakkin' cool. Looks like the mech is just over 4", which would put the pilots at roughly 2" (just eye-balling it, here). $30 for a 4" figure seems a lot, but I'm suspecting one will find its way into my collection. So thanks for that, Shane.

I would use a more appropriate analogy, that the dead leaves from the great, fully bloomed flower of DS9 were gathered up and haphazardly cobbled together into a pale imitation known as BSG. Wait-a-minnit. Admittedly, I don't follow fan threads on the internet, but people are drawing parallels between DS9 and BSG? Other than them both being SF TV shows, I don't see how the relevance. It's like comparing apples and kittens.

After Dinobot educated me on the difference, I had to go back and see in which the Bride was buried. And it's really hard to tell, there are no clear external shots of the box. But in Dinobot's picture above, look just to the left of the flashlight beam: that's looks like a corner. There is also a hint of shape in this pic: Besides, a coffin is more fitting considering the wild west theme of her segment with Bud.

It serves a dual use! Presumably the face would be hidden by the hugger when it was applied, but I'm sure the more OCD amongst us were smiling and nodding their heads at your post I remember someone was joking about making sure the eyes on slipover masks matched up with the eyes on the head underneath, but I don't think that was really a joke. Yeah, that was me (many years ago). And it wasn't a joke. Just as one would never, ever, slip a facehugger over a pleasant, smiling head. (Hiphuggers, on the other hand...)
