  1. And if you all use up the above two offers, my Hastings has 4 or 5 packs on the pegs. Willing to do cost plus shipping.
  2. My local Hastings has 4 or 5 of the exclusive 4-pack on the pegs, currently at 20% off. If anyone is interested, I'm willing to send them off for actual cost plus shipping.
  3. Careful now. Some of us -- me -- like the look you're calling "dated". It's the simpler lines to match the simple block body that drew me into Minimates 14 years ago. Don't be slamming the Original Taste.
  4. You now have the luxury of being able to pick-and-choose. If you can break the completist drive, it becomes quite satisfying to buy the 'Mates that attract you. Despite the slogan, no law requires you to collect them all.
  5. Gold Mario - 1st number underlined Boo - 3rd number underlined Daisy - 4th number underlined Fox Luigi - 6th number underlined which leaves 1st & 6th as Fox Luigi and Gold Mario, but I don't know which is which. Series 5 never appeared here, either. [edit] Found a full case and confirmed the missing figure codes.
  6. Oh, heck yes! Sadly, I haven't seen anything after Series 1 in my area. Is this true, what MrClean says, about the unique codes being dropped? This would be very un-Mega- Bloks-like and a very dark day in the history of MB collecting. I see that both 2 and 3 are on eBay, at despicable pricing. *muttergrumble*
  7. So, how tall are those guys? Are they very mini?
  8. Haha. The 'Minimates' if we can even call them that. When is the barn open for business? They're very Kubricky. Or first gen Mez-Itz. They scream Mez-Itz to me. bhm, if you any interesting historical tidbits on these, I would love to hear them.
  9. Yeah, Series 5 never arrived in my neck of the woods, either. Very sad.
  10. I've used Ali Express for mine, and they normally work out about a dollar each. The more you buy, the cheaper they are. e.g. One listing could be 10 Iron Men for $10, but then there might be a listing for 50 heroes for about $40. If you got on Ali Express, type in 'decool' or 'block' and you seem to get the most results. It just so happened that I tried ordering some bootlegs off of Ali Express a couple of months. They would not let me complete my purchase because they couldn't ship to my region (USA). Tried with a couple of vendors and got the same response. That said, some one is importing these into the US, not sure why I can't...
  11. ^ This is my exact solution, right down to the model number. You can also find them on eBay.
  12. It's been a good run. And remember the door here is always open for you.
  13. Or it could be because train wrecks are commonplace on Topham Hatt's railway. Never, ever ride the train on the Island of Sodor.
  14. Good eye, Zach. Despite all those excellent pics Ivan posted, that MMMV logo 'Mate beats them all! Ivan, hope you don't mind, but I want to share the one pic that was far more than a pass through the neon filter, the logo header. This was my favorite of the day.
  15. "I don't even see the code. All I see is Spider-Man, Wolverine, Rick Grimes."
  16. Sorry, Gmonkey, mention of this 'Mate was made in the View Askew thread, where it got kind of lost. I'll work on getting some pictures.
  17. This forum has been far too dead, we need more love for the blanks and promos! Sweet little adverts that they are. So I eBayed and recently opened my Tusk Minimate, and it is one sweet 'Mate! Clean, crisp graphics, and there's a tampo on the back! If I ever knew it, I had forgotten he was a two-sider. Excellent work by DST and glad to see Kevin didn't scrimp on his promo. An interesting note: the plastic is overall ever-so-slightly rougher than your usual 'Mate. At least, that's how I interpret it; something is slightly different about the texture.
  18. Or, you could leave them round, but put the clip in the end, rather along the side of the cylinder. Much more classic block figure design.
  19. The Marvel movies have trained me to see two separate universes - comic vs big screen. And now with DC, it's the small screen universe. I enjoy hearing a name I recognize in any of those TV series you mention, but then I (try) to sit back with no expectations of what the character will do.
  20. Thanks for you reply. I am with you on the noses: these figures demonstrate why Minimates don't have noses. The hands are "meh", but at least their snap-grip actually works. I do think the chest shape works for the genre they're depicting. On the plus side for Stackdown, they are of very solid quality. When I pick one up, I never wonder if the knee or hip is going to snap. They won't replace Minimates, but I maintain that if 'Mates didn't exist, people would see these guys would be good play figures.
  21. Really, hellpop, the worst? You didn't even confine your comment to block figures -- are you saying you can't think of another minifig that turns you off more than these guys? Any of DC's recent attempts, maybe? Honestly, I don't understand the hate aimed at these figures. The product quality is top-notch (bricks and figures), the anatomy of the figure is damn-near Minimates. I'll admit that the likenesses are not appealing, which probably accounts for most of the aesthetics. But it seems to be much of the dislike aimed at these or any other block figure is simply that They're Not Minimates. It's like the Lego purists who dis Kre-O -- they're judging with prejudice rather than open-mindedness. So I'm asking you specifically, hellpop, because I respect your opinion: what about C3 kicks your hate-o-matic into overdrive?
  22. Of course we're interested! Thanks for the heads-up.
  23. I've got to say, I am impressed with how DST adapted these characters. And yes, they're in the category of "so sculpted, they're beyond Minimates, now they're tiny little action figures." Sandy's bubble-helmet is going to be worth it's weight in gold. If it's truly removable...
  24. See, this is when it all starts to spiral downhill.
