  1. Here's the QC I did. More of a mid 00s comics version than an MCU or Classic Comics version. Basically just a Ryu body on some Deadpool legs and some strikeforce X-Men cuffs. Yours looks fantastic, Wookiefodder. Great use of that wonky protoMiles torso.
  2. Update: I found those Seinfeld sets at Target and they most definitely do not scale. While it seems a minimate would fit into the set piece, everything is scaled to 1 inch, so the mates would tower over everything. Funko: Good for nothing.
  3. Well here's hoping they do something like they did for FFH and Spider-Verse and release a themed wave to coincide with the new movies. Like I would love a comic inspired line involving any of these new movie or D plus characters: A Master of Kung Fu Shang Chi, Death Dealer, White Vision, an updated USAgent, etc. Give me them any day of the week over the bland, overly complicated designs from the MCU. Uh.... er... no offense to the people who love those designs?
  4. They will potentially fit. The scale seems right, but you never know until you see them in person. I pre ordered a set a few months back; I'll let you know when it comes.
  5. If they released two $30 boxsets at once, y'all would have a fit over how expensive it was. I'm betting, given the huge reception for this first boxset, we hear about the second (and maybe third one!) during the convention season.
  6. Is April Fools Day the new Groundhog Day? Not nice. Also, is there a Burbank in Australia? Weird.
  7. I mean, you say that, but the next wave has Constrictor in it and the one after that has both Corsair and Lliandra. They might not be the depths of say, Dr. Druid and Slapstick, but they're still pretty obscure. Also, as a general sidenote, y'all is crazy. I am so jonesing for Wave 80 more than any other wave lined up. Here's hoping the future brings more of these general theme-d waves as opposed to the specific storyline stuff (which is also neat, but less exciting).
  8. These are incredible. Like, I knew they would be cool, but they somehow exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to see this set explode and become a whole new line of amazing Joes. Fingers crossed for the big army builder exclusive four set and the dreadnocks. 2021 is looking up!
  9. I like the way you think! ROM/Dire Wraith 2-pack please. Even if it's just an exclusive somewhere.
  10. The idea of Joe minimates has my brain on fire! Talk about a series that could run forever! Aside from all the classics that I definitely want to see, I think I'd be the most jazzed to get a full Dreadknock squad. With those wild looks and awesome weapons, I could kitbash a whole line of Mad Max figures on the side. The future is bright friends! Fingers crossed for good fortunes.
  11. Here's a crazy thought: Escape from New York/LA. It's been 40 years since the first one, they're easy customs I see all the time, and it could be part of a larger film library licence. I suppose we'll find out tomorrow.
  12. BHM, a hat tip to you sir. I agree that the span between 2010 and like 2015 was peak minimate; fingers crossed we get to that peak again. Onyx, that's a wonderful celebration of your library disguised as a great minimate commercial. Looks like it took forever to do. Great work!
  13. Zach I got your package today and couldn't be happier. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to get them into our hands. And I already stuck him in a photo, check it out: https://www.instagram.com/p/CKj8BbfAbpY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link [Excuse the link and not an embed image. It seems to be beyond my meager coding skills to figure it out]
  14. What a fantastic way to start the year! Thanks Zach!
  15. I totally want one of these. Talk about a crown jewel of a collection. Great find!
  16. I found the FWS packs like mid December and haven't seen a Walgreens restock since. And not just minimates, but like the entire toy section is always super thin. Either Los Angeles is in some weird black hole of distribution (which, it very well could be, my closest Targets are the same way) OR the Pandemic hit the Walgreens distro hard OR OR Walgreens is re-calibrating how they stock their toy section. Either way, it all stinks.
  17. YES! Give him some weirdo iconic, yet dumb, name like Arachnoid or Spyder or World Wide Webs and he'd fit in perfect.
  18. Very much dislike. And not for the standard, "Not muh spider-man" reasons, but because it's very cold, too busy, and doesn't look like Spider-Man. It looks like the second 2099 suit and the Big Time suit (the black and green one) got thrown in a blender and this thing came out. I give it six months before we're back to the traditional red and blues.
  19. I'm all for the ragging on DST, but to be fair, their were no minimate waves for the first two Raimi movies because there weren't minimates. I mean, I suppose the line was getting started in 2004, but they were still figuring out how to make the line work. To the rest of your point though, totally. It does seem odd that Chuck skipped some of the latter movies, even though I prefer the waves we got to what would have been a boring looking and redundant MCU/animated wave.
  20. For what it's worth, I think the move would be to make ''Versus" box sets. So like, Hydra v SHIELD, Kree V Skrull, SWORD v... Brood?, err.. you get where I'm going: Instead of a big mixed bag of various henchmen, or a straight set of the same figure (like the crazy 88s set), you'd have a bit of variety and a built in play structure along with your army building. I still doubt it would fly off the shelves, but it would be worth a shot.
  21. My goodness that is a lot of MCU. Remember when it was crazy that we'd have two MCU movies a year? Meanwhile, here's hoping for some 'MCU-inspired' waves for Specialty and mini MCU waves hitting Walgreens. Also, Fingers crossed for a wild Spider-Verse inspired wave next fall with Morlun, Madam Web, Karn, Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and Spider-Man. Feels like a layup for DST.
  22. Hey! There's a sale happening at Walgreens! Buy one get a second half off. PLUS they have a toy drive happening (at least they do here in CA). So I grabbed fate by the ears today and bought a couple of those Kamala/Kangs that have been gumming up the shelves for 17 years and donated them. Not only does it secure my place on the nice list, but it moves figures off that shelves and potentially into the hands of some budding fan. If y'all have the resources, I suggest you do the same.
  23. I went to like six walgreens last week and the shelves were still choked with Captain Marvel sets. The newest thing I found was the Gamerverse stuff. Distro in this area sucks.
  24. Seems like a missed opportunity for a Deathlok through the Ages box set: a red-eyed, American flag brandishing Luther Manning, a terrible AoS-inspired Henry Hayes, an energy-clawed X-Force Deathlok Prime, and (the forgotten one) the long-haired sewer dwelling aged Luther Manning. It would be a super rad set that would haunt shelves for a lifetime. But I would buy the heck out of it.
  25. I wonder if this will end up hitting in early November like the X-Factor wave did last year. Without doing a ton of research, it seems these releases have been hitting pretty regularly in that late October, early November spot for a few years.
