1. So, not correct, as no picture. I used the code tool button to do this. If I use the image tool button, I cannot close the dialog box - the OK button does not work. Thank you Ady for helping me.
2. You found a Rhodes/Drone set? Is that 3 years old? Well done! The best I have done in the past is $1 for the MAX jet. The cheapest 2 packs I have encountered at TRU were $2.48 (going back to BSG days), although I bought a Wesker/Doom set in early Dec 2013 for about that price too. I may have paid $1.99 when Target was abandoning minimates and I bought up what they had (how long ago was that?!?). I bought a bunch of Street Fighters 2 packs for $2.50 at FiveBelow, but that was about 3 years ago or more.
3. I have not uploaded pictures in a while, but I can't get it to work. I have some photos on Photobucket I want to include in a posting. I copy the IMG link, but I cannot paste it into the text field in the post. What am I missing? I have tried using the link, image, and code tools, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
4. I recently made my first purchase from LTS, and I am sorry it took me so long to get off my butt to do it. His customer service was great. Thanks for the awesome Alpha Flight minimates! I'll be back (promise not a threat). Thanks Luke!
5. I used the bodies from some extra Rhodey figures (Air Assault drones?) to swap out the bodies from the Heavy SHIELD agents, then added the spare holster sets from the same. The blue was almost as dark (but not quite). I gave the Heavy SHIELD agents (post-body swap) the boots from the human figure in the Resistance set (I had gotten multiples of those on clearance at TRU in the past few months). Still working on the hands - flesh colored or black gloves to go with the boots. I'll post pics later when I figure it out. Made a QC Sharon Carter using the X-Men First Class Emma Frost figure with a BSG Six hair swap, and a spare SHIELD holster.
6. Another John Carter fan - we liked it in my home (I enjoyed the action and my wife and daughters enjoyed Mr. Kitsch's screen time, mostly shirtless)
7. He was a great villain in "Night of the Generals" I loved him in "My Favorite Year" - in my 20s, I was understandably fascinated with the concept of the drunk suit.
8. Thanks for the heads up on the BOGO 50% off, fwoosheyman. Got a Captain Stacy ASM set w/ vigilante Spiderman / 1st appearance Thor w/ Baldur set for $10.47. Also got a Doom / Wexler set on clearance for $2.48 (!)
9. Black Knight (with ebony sword of course) The Beetle
10. Nothing yet either in NJ - I have had some luck finding other sets on clearance (see indie Mates thread on "clearance at TRU"). East Brunswick Watchung Lawrenceville
11. The only Halo sets I have seen lately were aliens only, no humans / marines. All full price, too.
12. I found Sony minimates on clearance for $2.98 each at the East Brunswick, NJ store today. Picked up a Resistance pack and an Uncharted pack. Still no Wave 16 'mates there either.
13. I have not found them in NJ yet (Lawrenceville or Watchung stores) Anyone else have any luck in this area?
14. I bought an Expendables 1 4-pack at the TRU in Lawrenceville, NJ on the clearance racks for either 7.49 or 7.98 (can't remember, it was on Wednesday). The also had MAX sets marked down to 3.98. Picked up the police officers set, rather beaten up looking but intact (the edges of the card were pretty chewed up). Anyone finding these elsewhere? I had seen some other posts about very inconsistent clearance / sale prices across TRUs. No Wave 16 packs yet, here, or in the TRU closer to home (Watchung, NJ). Anyone find them in NJ yet?
15. I'm sorry you're going through this. Having gone through it myself some time ago, please let yourself enjoy (at least some of) the time you have at home during the job search. My 13 year old still has fond memories of when she was in kindergarten and I picked up her up every day (because I wasn't at work), and how we played together after school. I hope you get to create some good memories too. Don't give up hope - you'll look back on this some day and be more likely to remember the good parts over the bad. I will miss your much envied photos in the vein of "a lot of anything looks cool" be it AIM soldiers, HYDRA goons, etc.. Be well.
16. Is that a current photo? If it is, looks like that TRU has a lot of peg warmers (Thor movie wave? Galactus 4-pack? - haven't seen those in a while)
17. I like it. Huge fan of JL / JLU. This set the bar for everything else. The closest Marvel has gotten so far is EMH, which I also enjoyed.
18. You're right, more likley to be CN's fault than WB's. Was the real reason for cancelling both series ever revealed?
19. I also picked up the Warthog with the Noble team (3 figures) for 14.99 about a week ago or so - thanks for the heads up on the clearance. I had also not realized that TRU had moved all of the video game 'mates to the video game section of the store - lots of Halo there, Tekken / Street Fighter, some Sony stuff too.
20. The last first run episodes of Green Lantern and Young Justice were broadcast last weekend. Both series ended well - too bad WB is not committed to keeping them on the air. Any other fans?
21. Picked up a Warthog for $6.48 and 2 Halo Wave 2 packs for $3.49 about 2 weeks ago in central NJ (Jackal / Green Spartan Scout). I had not seen any like these elsewhere in a while, certainly not this cheap.
22. So the TRU Annihilus does not have energy blasts, although the box artwork shows him with it? What's up with that (as my kids would say - actually, they don't really talk that way either)?
23. I picked up most of the "phase 1?" Transformers sets on masssive discount at ToysRUs or on eBay the past few months. I like building them in robot mode and augmenting the build with our home stock of Legos. The quality of the bricks is very high, better than C3. Even with the Kre-os, they still tend to not make all of the figures in about the right scale (this has been an issue since the original figures back in the 80's), but at least with the block sets, you can customize them to how you want them to look. I have found a couple of websites for custom builds for Transformers, so Kre-os seems to fit in nicely within that sub-group amongst Transformers fans. And yes, all of the Kre-on mnifigures are on my desk at work, sharing space with some Minimates.
