A number of years ago (5?) I had found Street Fighter sets [mostly Chun-Li vs M. Bison (red)] in 5Below stores here in NJ. I had assumed that they came from TRU, but perhaps not. Does TRU sell clearance stock to discount chains?

Did every TRU sell all of its minimates that were on clearance? Or can we expect to find them at a discount store sometime soon? Like 5Below or Big Lots?

I agree, I was surprised by the Drax character, and how good Dave Bautista was. Then I remembered he had been a professional wrestler, so it's not like he's new to acting.

I was going to buy two of the sets the other night at my local TRU, but there were 5+ people on line at the only open register, so I left without buying them. After seeing the movie last night, I will be going back for them. The movie was really enjoyable, a lot of fun, with some surprising moments from Dave Bautista and two completely CGI'ed characters - I forgot they were CGI'ed, it was done so well.

My daughters (tween/teen) really liked Love & Capes. I agree on the DCU animated based comics. Calvin and Hobbes collections are worth every penny!

Did anyone actually see Minimates at a TJMaxx? I was in one in NJ today, the toy section was sad.

I was at 5 TRUs in this part of NJ in the past week. Slim pickings to be sure. Marvel packs were completely gone at 3 of 5 stores. One store only had 3 SFvT sets, not even Halo vehicles. I may have bought my last seriously discounted packs for some time (perhaps ever?!) (sniff) Thanks, TRU, for all of the heavily discounted Wolverine movie ninja 'mates!

I made a Daisy Johnson custom using a spare Maria Hill body, a BSG Sharon head, new hair, and the gauntlets from a human/alien hybrid from Resistance. I colored the hands using a silver Sharpie.

how do you keep your displayed mates from getting dusty when you store them on shelves?

Thanks for the heads up. I check the end caps, and the clearance in the front of the store and in the action figure area. None of the stores in NJ have the same layout, you have to check out the whole area. Some stores still have video game related figures like Halo or Sony in the electronics section, not in the action figures section. It's part of the thrill, right?

I think that I have bought at least 15 (maybe 20?) 2-packs at TRU with the half price plus 20 - 30% off coupons. Finally found Wave 18 packs, but I was about 90 miles form where I live (King of Prussia Mall in PA - I was nearby on business). I have yet to find a SF vs Tekken set I would buy, even for custom fodder. Still haven't bought the Boomer set - even bought the Omega Red set. Good Ghostbusters reference!

Do the SKU numbers help - if you call a TRU w/ the SKU numbers, will they tell you if they have them in stock? I have not yet found Wave 18 in two of my usual TRUs in NJ (Watchung and Lawrenceville). I finally bought an Omega Red set and an IM3 set w/ Tony Stark each for $2.79 w/ the 30% coupon at the Lawrenceville store on Friday.

Just checked out tru.com. Why is Wesker / Doom now $9.99 when it was $2.48 on clearance last month (in store)? I think it was also marked down on line at the same time, if I recall correctly. Is this another symptom of inconsistency on the part of TRU?

Thanks for the heads up on the clearance sale. I bought 9 packs for $30.62 with tax at the Watchung, NJ store. I still did NOT buy a Boomer set even at $3.18 each. Could not do it. Same with the Firelord set. Meh. I did buy 4 packs of the Wolvie movie suit / ninja pack for an instant ninja army (OK, a squad). Got the other 3 packs for Wave 17 at $3.18 each - only got Robot Hulk / Rescue Iron Man for full price or close to it (maybe a coupon?). The AvX pack was still $9.99 - that was the only 4 pack at this store (2-3 of them). The HALO stuff was on clearance too, but only the alien packs from Series 4. Thanks again! Does anyone know how long the clearance sale will last? I may want to check some stores near where I work later this week.

Rented IM3 yesterday, blu-ray from Redbox. The Agent Carter short may have been my favorite part of the whole thing.

I'm glad to finally see a Lego Sentinel - it did seem like a gimme. I need to see how they scaled it compared to the regular Lego minfigs before I commit to buy one. I have looked in the past for a Lego custom Sentinel figure on Lego mecha sites but always came up empty.

With the swapped out SHIELD agent bodies, I can now make some SHIELD agents! Using the remaining knife and gun holster from the Maria Hill set (I had one Maria Hill, and two Commander Fury / Rogers sets). Using the head from the Nathan Hale character from the Resistance 2-pack, and a MAX head (one of the firemen). I hope that I can get more of these sets, hopefully the Maria Hill one, to make more agents.

Sharon Carter QC X-Men First Class Emma Frost BSG Six hair swap Spare holster from either Heavy SHIELD Agent pack. Modified Heavy SHIELD Agent. Disassembled as much as needed, then body swapped for spare Rhodey body (IM2 figures acquired on clearance 2-3 years ago). Blue is not as dark as SHIELD agent body, but works here. Boots replaced with ones from the human figure in the Resistance 2-pack. Gloves are dark blue and from a Fantastic Four figure, although I cannot be sure from what wave (taken from the parts bin). Another Heavy SHIELD Agent Same recipe as above, head swap with MAX police officer. Thanks to Ady and TM2Dinobot for the IT assistance!
