  1. Well, I'd argue the first Star Trek moviemates are correctly assigned, but yeah does seem strange based on larger figures.
  2. I don't know which was more jaw dropping, mixing eras or Decker & Ilia
  3. 3) Skeets 2) Assault Punisher guns 1) The C3 Superman/Darkside set clear flying stand
  4. I wouldn't mind them, but I think that everybody overestimated the interest in Rocky as a whole, larger figures are shelfwarming everywhere down here. You can see how they tried to milk by going for the whole franchise, but the interest lived and died on back of recent movie and another instance of movie mates out after the movie had come and gone.
  5. Based on what we know of the trailers and the Ghost Rider wave (single wave for movie with single main character), probably a given a wave/set would include both clunky silver/ and ed & gold armor variations. I'd say the remainder would be a Tonk Stark in suit, Stane in suit or Stane in armor, single female (Pepper I'm guessing) and Stark either injuried/hostage or Stark wearing glove plugged into his chest as a chase.
  6. Irony... Box from AFX turned up the day after I first posted in this thread
  7. dang, I ordered almost same day and excepted the usual that international postage takes time, now wondering how paranoid I should be...
  8. Glad that these were a boxset as opposed to a wave...
  9. That seemed to be the thing with all the licenses that AA themselves were able to snag/attract towards the end, both in size of licenses and the resources that either party could devote to them.
  10. Yep, but that was a sale, so price has gone back up to "normal" And yeah, I finally caved and can/have to live with the shipping costs (Defenders = $14.99US, Chun-Li/Bison exclusive = $8.99US, cheapest shipping AFX offer to Australia = $31.00US) as a birthday present to myself
  11. I'm mostly missing newer mates of all waves. I'm feeling increasing financial stress due to bub, so most of 07 I was sometimes very up to date with full waves and chases , other times really lagging behind. Now have a local retailer supporting Minimates again it's good to know not alone locally in liking them, but much more competition to get chases so making it harder to ensure full sets. Some of the lines (Star Trek, BGC) I missed out on even non-chase packs locally, so hitting the russian roulette that is ebay more often
  12. I'm another one who subscribes to the "one blank is like another" school of thought, you can appreciate the differences just as easily through the baggie IMO.
  13. I carry a Series 2 Spider-Man in the front pocket of my backpack, pulling him out at work as a "keep the hands busy while thinking/talking" aid, his pant is a little chipped on some of te pointed edges on his torso block.
  14. Diamond offered an exclusive 2-pack to any and all interested retailers, Suncoast/FYE was the retailer who agreed to cough up the money for it. Pretty much all the recent 2-pack exclusives have been developed by Diamond and then shopped around to various retailers to see if anybody is interested in carrying them. Some have found homes like this one, others find a home in Previews, and others such as BGC exclusive 2-packs didn't get any bites and were rolled into Series 4.
  15. Okay, another attempt, ended up worse: Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest 12-inch Davy Jones Action Figure with Sound - $24.99US SF2 Player 2 Chun Li vs M. Bison Minimates exclusive - $2.00US And again the only two shipping options AFX allows to Australia (everything else is "The shipping method you specified is not available to your address") USPS Priority Mail International - $49.00US UPS Worldwide Expedited - $124.31US And just for giggles, let's try a single minimate 2-pack: SF2 Player 2 Chun Li vs M. Bison Minimates exclusive - $2.00US USPS Priority Mail International - $26.25US UPS Worldwide Expedited - $72.74US
  16. Go away for a week and come back to this... Definitely interested in any way to make it cheaper for international fans to try and gets these, mainly because the shipping options AFX offer are never friendly to Australians (3 betty boop bobble heads plus SF2 exclusive minimate 2-pack = $26.75US - cheapest/first option shipping $40US, next option a whopping $104US)
  17. Never watched BSG either, but I assumed it was some tablet from/leadin to Kobol(sp?)
  18. Definitely not a fan of sculpted heads. I don't mind chest plates because they still fall under the overview of overpiece/clothing, but sculpted heads seem to be moving on from vital (Peter Parker/Spider Man needed a unique head for that cut-out to plug the hair into, Leader of course had big head) onto not so vital.
  19. Here's hoping open to international fans...
  20. Well, could argue that LOTR (and C3 for that matter) had the problem of Play Along Toys not having the pull of the big boys, which effected their production and output due to so-so demand. But with regards to most of the movie and TV series mates coming out it's wrong to compare them to SF2 mates because they haven't really come out yet. It's entirely they will bomb and fail too , the only difference is SF2 had it's chances to prove it could be a contender and failed, where these guys have barely entered the ring.
  21. That's the thing, even with appearances on JL/JLU Martian Manhunter doesn't have the main stream pull, yet the DCD MM seem to be all about catering to the fans more than the mainstream. Even skipping those B-listers who had C3 mates seems off given some of the obscure choices in the DCD line.
  22. Dang, poncho and saddle bags look to almost collapse the mate...
  23. I doubt it'll last any longer or be any more memorable/desired than Iron Spidey
  24. I guess the real question is will we see Wave 15, if that gets dropped, then bye bye Spidey 3 mates... That said, we all pretty much wrote off the X-Men 3 mates and they were eventually released waaay later, so anything is possible.
