  1. And I thought the comic covers compo was tough! Every time I think I've got a brilliant idea for an entry someone posts an entry and I have to rethink from scratch. *And* I'm still trying for the "more boobs for Danny" concept cause every time I get that AFX DC mates banner showing Powergirl, Wonderwoman and that third one I think "yeah, sci fi + boobs = winner!" Luke, Matt, killer entries both!
  2. Where, oh where does one acquire minimate bras? I'll bet Danny knows but he isn't telling.
  3. Nothing special here, just a personal preference mix for support characters and villains Poison Ivy / Oracle Clark Kent / All-Star Superwoman Lois Lane Commissioner Gordon / Alfred Pennyworth Metallo / Two-Face I'd like to see a Crime Syndicate of America Lois Lane Superwoman too but it ain't ever going to happen.
  4. London FP has the Indymates packs down to some ridiculous price too, as well as (I think) some windowed packs from early series (I'm not a big Spidey or Hulk fan so I didn't really pay much attention) and one full box of Wolvie/Mariko... which must be worth... well, carry the two, divide by... a whole English pound at least!
  5. I hasten to add that MMA is looking pretty damn spiffy with the new design
  6. Or a four-page gatefold recreation of Jim Lee's X-Men 1, or the continuing adventures in Minopolis... Face it, you're doing Barbarella. No wait... I don't mean 'doing'...
  7. DonnyB and I should probably discuss this before we both enter the same custom. Maybe I can throw him off the trail by mentioning how much I love Barbarella...
  8. Congrats guys, all three entries stood apart stylisticly, Boyd's being particularly visually arresting and detailed. Can we get a quick tutorial on creating little green squid-mates please?
  9. Scoundrel? I like the sound of that. Sorry, my hands are dirty.
  10. In a way I'm glad DonnyB didn't give up when he saw I had done the same cover as him. I realise its possibly cost me a Maximate/Javellin but damn if that wasn't well worth seeing. I should say that the contest was a wonderful reason to stop lurking and get involved, glad to have met you all.
  11. Although in Sabretooth's case the hole goes right through from just under the jaw up and through the frontal lobe... he's the new Lobotomised-by-Wolvie variant! (showing my age again)
  12. Don't worry, the ol' Cannucklehead's healing factor will heal that right up real fast.
  13. Honestly, I skip MMM (or M cubed perhaps) for one day and what do I find when I check back in? So many great covers, so many killer customs and so many brilliant entries that I have to sob quietly as a guaranteed "also-ran" I concur though, I'd do this stuff for no-prizes. I have a dozen covers I want to try now that my collection has swelled to impossible size (thanks Webhead!)
  14. That absolutely, positively rocks. That is epic on a mini scale. Outstanding job. Rogue seems pretty pleased to have been killed though...
  15. Especially loving Boyd's entry, its clean, retro and that Iceman is a must-have custom! he ought to get together with Opticon's terrific Torch. Great entries guys, I'm becoming more and more adjusted to the idea of being one of those non-prize earning winners...
  16. I'm actually ashamed to admit that Beast was one of the figs I spent the least time on. Posed Thing, changed hue/saturation to the right shade of blue, smudged up the brickwork to look like fur and added a noise filter to hide the blurriness. Or are minimate customs like sausages? (nobody needs to know how they're made)
  17. My money is still on a bulk discount on black ink. Joe Q is a sucker for a bargain.
  18. In whichcase the appeal for an Alfred/Commissioner Gordon "Allies of the Batman" two-pack start right here! And cdubya I only just saw your edit of my quote above;
  19. I would expect that the thinking is that it can only be done as a promo and even then not of the same ilk as JS Green Lantern, since that still has a lot of play action to it. Can you really see your average mass-market kid running around with an Alfred figure going "Yes Master Bruce, I'll stitch you right up" and playing with the 'its-supposed-to-be-cold' Gaspacho soup accessories? Nope, looks like its going to have to be a custom project, cause you can't have a Batcave/mansion without an Alfred.
  20. Nope, every one of them a Photoshop manip. The only custom work was reassembling parts together for the right shapes/outfits/accessories. I don't have any spares I can customise up for real just yet so it was all photo trickery. I had a spare New Wolverine but my girlfriend appropriated him and now wanders around the house saying "snikt! snikt!" all the time. Donny I'm glad you went through with it, your work deserved to be seen, its simply astonishing (X-Men).
  21. I think I'd have foregone Millionaire Playboy Bruce Wayne in favor of an Alfred figure. There wouldn't really have been any other opportunity to release one. Here's hoping DC doesn't miss the trick.
  22. Lurch you've put my mind at ease. Your explanation isn't nearly as exciting as I thought though, I was hoping it would be a training device that Batman was supposed to kick or something. Checked my catwoman swag bag, got it. Now, how do I make Stealth Batman's eyes glow? And how do I unzip Selina's catsuit for that extra Danny-pleasing cleavage?
  23. Worse still, there'll be an exclusive Toyfare released shortly with variant paint jobs of all the figs so that we'll buy two copies. ... no, not really.
