  1. Found and passed at my LCBS. $11.99 is ridiculous! Waiting for my BBTS order, since the 8inch cloth retro Universal Monsters come out in a few weeks, then I'll have a massive minimate shipment sent my way! It's so hard to wait, since even the 10th anniversary case is listed as ready to ship! Oh, and looking at the poll again, I'm so glad Songbird won, since from poll #2, Commander Rogers, Winter Soldier AND Modern Falcon are all confirmed, with Banshee heavily hinted at as coming soon!
  2. It's always made me sad to know that Doohan refused to participate with that Futurama episode. I'd imagine it had more to do with his mental state at that time. Interviews at the time showed us a Doohan who didn't seem as capable of acting at that point.
  3. So Zach, now that Series 4 is on the verge of release, when do you think we might start to hear more about Series 5? I always hate when the latest announced series hits retail before the announcement of the next series. NYCC in October is my guess
  4. I love your ideas, Matty-Lad! Only, for TOS, instead of Dr M'Benga, I'd much prefer a TOS Romulan! As an army builder, packed with Scotty to make army builder red-shirts, I'd buy cases of just that one pack! So, if we only got one last wave, I'd plan it to make customizing the unfinished characters easier: Specialty: TNG: Worf & Troi TV classic uniforms DS9: O'Brien & Dax TOS: Scotty (extra dress uniform torso) & Romulan VOY: Torres & EMH TRU: TNG: Data & Geordi TV Classic Uniforms DS9: Odo & Quark ENT: T'Pol & Phlox. Movies: ST3 Kirk & Kruge to get us a classic movie Klingon body for custom army building! BONUS Specialty 4-pack Best of Both Worlds Riker Locutus Dr Crusher Lt Shelby (with extra head for Ensign Ro)
  5. Would they redo the old DOFP Wolverine variant? Because I'd love to get him and the GSXM box set Thunderbird redone! But I thought the rule was they would never be remade and were "exclusive".
  6. Wow, didn't know I was going to stir up a hornets nest with people missing the question mark in the title. Sorry! Wave 55 should be out in 2014. Perhaps we'll get a peek at the NYCC in October? Also, it's possible to have an X-Men wave without Wolverine, it's been done before. And I guess I should have said it was my wishlist, instead of "my picks", because I honestly wouldn't even TRY at this point to predict what DST is going to do. Why? Because I'd think finishing the Phoenix-5 and X-Force would be a sure thing, but DST has already shot down completing the P-5. Plus, I also think doing more Marvel NOW! designs would also be a sure thing but DST has also hinted they're pretty much done with NOW for now. And sadly, at this point picking entirely exclusive waves with no overlapping between TRU & Specialty seems like it'll be inaccurate. And dammit, I just want some more Brotherhood of Evil Mutants!
  7. (Looked but didn't see a topic yet. Mods feel free to merge if I missed it!) What's the next Marvel wave and what will it be themed after? My bet is it will be X-Men based, and include the Heavily-Hinted at By DSTChuck: Sunfire and Banshee. When (not IF ) we get those two, will they be the odd-X-Men out, or will the entire wave be themed around their particular time period? My hope is that they don't structure it around any particular time, since there's still a ton of stuff missing from different time periods in the X-Men's chronology. My Picks: Sunfire & Avalanche Banshee & Blob Forge & Toad Mastermind & Stepford Cuckoo (with second alt expression head) Vanisher (Variant) & Stepford Cuckoo TRU Wave: Siryn & Stryfe Pyro & Destiny Spiral & Mojo Phoenix 5 Magik & Namor
  8. I wa thinking about that yesterday. Does DST have the rights to make minimates of guest stars? Many presidents have cameoed in comics, same goes for other actors and such. I think, as public figures, they don't need to be licensed? There have been official 1/6 figures of presidents, and the Mego style dead presidents (which are covered under parody). And YB mentioned Alicia Masters. Yeah, she turned out great, but I'd still trade her for a Psycho Man or Trapster or any number of other villains. Still, at least when they do make civillians, DST knocks them out of the park! Jarvis, while cool, just should not come before all of the actual Avenger heroes still missing. Unless he's an alt look for Dr Druid (not separate slots!) We are starting to see our available slots declining in numbers. Now that there will be more overlap between TRU & Specialty, there are less unique mates getting made. I like the alt looks included with characters, such as the recent DareDevil with Matt Murdock head, or Puppet Master with alt suit. JJJ and Aunt May are totally different, as they have been a continuous MAJOR part of SpiderMan for decades. Betsy Brandt, Foggy Nelson, etc don't show up nearly as frequently. The recent Venom TTA set had some good Flash etc parts that might need a bit of removal to get the Venom goo off, but can be QC'ed into their civilian counterparts.
  9. If Target carried them, at least their clearance sales would be a bit more realistic for moving product off shelves. Honestly, if any other company picked up Minimates, I'd prefer it were Target. Also, it'd be even better to have exclusive waves at TRU, another at Target, and more at specialty! I'd imagine we'd get more characters we'd never get otherwise (Phoneix-5 Magik and Namor, perhaps?) There are more Targets than TRUs. I would imagine the production numbers would be around the same, only then spread over more stores, leading it to look like less were produced. And who knows, maybe they'd increase the production numbers? But if TRU would clearance out things like the Boomer & Rictor packs for $1.24 or $2.24 like Target would, I'd clear out every TRU in Los Angeles! I don't want to lose TRU as an exclusive partner. But I'd love to add Target, and I don't think it'd be as bad as everyone thinks. Plus, with more store traffic, it could bring in a huge wave of new fans!
  10. Civilians are my pick for "Last Wave Ever" after ALL our wishlist figures are made. Why should we get Rick Jones before we get BlackKnight, Tigra, etc? As Hellpop said, they are easy to make. That said, remember the Maximum Zombies line pitched but not released? I had planned to QC a Willie Lumpkin with that zombie mailman, shame it never came out.
  11. How about a new Trek show set in the far future, after most of the Enterprise letters (-A, -B, etc)have been taken, and we're now on double letters? The Enterprise-FU, conceived jointly with Rick Berman and JJ Abrams. With a theme song composed of pop music sung in a style that only your mother thinks is cool. With a Captain that's an amalgamation of every fan-favorite character from multiple universes, Captain Lwaxana Neelix Binks, who can only communicate in Flatulese. After a viewing of the pilot episode, both Berman & Abrams are overheard saying "I don't get it, I thought the fans would be thrilled that Star Trek was back on the air. This show was meant as a love-letter to the fans!"
  12. Probably my favorite so far, only missing Enchantress & Executioner, Blob & Stryfe, Avalanche & Ronan, and I'd add in an extra box set con exclusive for the Wrecking Crew.
  13. Are you asking me to point out on the minimate where first-year Image touched me? (hint: it wasn't in my heart!) So, If you did a line of Youngblood, would they even get feet? Would it also include trick covers and ashcan editions? It's not that the founding Image books "hurt me bad", it's that I've learned my lesson on pissing away money on shoddy properties. If you want to make them, more power to you, I wish you well. One thing does bug me about Ultron: his legs. It makes him feel too much like he's part of a different toy line other than minimates. I'd prefer something more like the old Terminator legs.
  14. Maybe if TRU decides to skip a fan poll box set, and maybe start sharing more sets with the LCBS waves, we can get back to equilibrium?
  15. See, if she were from any other universe besides Image, I would have been very excited. If she were from any other Image book besides Spawn (or Youngblood), I might have been mildly interested. I was there from the beginning of Image's foundation. So much overhyped garbage that relied on that hype rather than actual story content. And I bought heavily into the Spawn toys. Spawn was such a ripoff of so many various sources, and had the poorest writing and storytelling. The Clown was just a demon version of the Joker, etc. Sorry, after buying so much product for a property that just didn't deserve it, I have a strong disgust for a lot of the founding Image properties. Angela will never be Marvel to me. I'm buying this set purely for Fury. Angela will be sent to hang out with the Femme Fatales, and even then she'll be in the back row! Minimates are awesome enough to get me buying properties I don't know or never had interest in before, but nothing is awesome enough to undo the disgust I have for founding year Image properties like Spawn & Youngblood. Heck, give me Valiant over Image any day. I'm just buying one set. (normally I buy around 3 of each!) At least the money is going to DST & Marvel, and not one penny to Todd McFarlane. It's a well made figure, but even I'm surprised at my own level of disgust I still have for all things Spawn.
  16. Fury is the only one I want here. Sure I'll take another Iron Man, I guess. Ultron? I never read past issue 2 or 3, so I'm not familiar with the look, nor am I really digging it. Angela? Never, ever wanted one. I'd take a crappy d-list Marvel character over this Image import.
  17. Funny, I haven't step foot back in my LCBS since he jacked up the prices of all his minimates to $11.99/pack.
  18. Damn. As if I wasn't already sad enough today with Futurama ending
  19. Diminished differences between TRU & LCBS sucks big time, but it's way better than no TRU at all. But this still sucks
  20. How'd you switch out the knee joints? Looks great!
  21. I'd guess the Selvig alternate parts are probably spoilerific! Maybe he gets possessed or something.
  22. Kostis, the question was "who's most neglected", not "who still has a ways to go" YB, I think the movie Jigsaw works as a comic version pretty well. But if they wanted to give us a different comic version with that neck brace collar, wearing The Punisher's outfit, and pack him with FrankenCastle, I wouldn't complain
  23. Nope. I can't do this. I need FAR too much classic Marvel to be even close to "complete" (or just able to call it the end) Too many Avengers Too many Thor supporting cast & villains (Warriors Three, Wrecking Crew, Enchantress, etc) Too many X-family stuff: Villans (Brotherhood!), missing mutants (Banshee, etc) Too many general MU (Deathlok, etc) Too many FF villains and the Inhumans Let me plan out a final YEAR with corresponding TRU waves and few box sets, and even then I won't be complete. Although, when the time comes, I would gladly give up the Army-Builder slot in favor of a unique character.
