  1. Definitely a must have set! Although I'm perfectly happy with my Jim Lee era Prof. X, adding the parts to make him Mastermind is genius. That way new fans can get a Professor but old fans still get a new character. Even though I never cared for Quicksilver in green, I can still use him to update the first Quicksilver minimate, which I have. Toad is a welcome addition too, but the star of the set for me is Jean. That's the costume she chose to wear when she fought for her life (and ultimately sacrificed herself) at the end of the Dark Phoenix saga. We can finally recreate the cover to Uncanny X-Men # 134. :)

THIS. ALL. OF THIS. Seriously I am hoping for a Secret Invasion 2 That undoes everything since Morrison's X-Men. Cat Beast, Cyclops being a cheating douche, Angel nonsense with the Apocalypse seed, Husk going crazy, etc. I'm all for erasing the entire Austin/Morrison era from the narrative.

Don't forget Matt Fraction's run as well. *shivers*

  3. I've basically given up on collecting. I've run out of room & money. There will be occasions when I MUST have something though. I'll have to get the Emma Frost figure when it comes out, & I ordered Elektra a while back. In case you guys are interested, here's a picture. She turned out really, really nice...so sad that as soon as MU starts producing top quality figures, Hasbro screws up everything. I'm bitter.

  4. Injustice keeps releasing Red Son skins, Blackest Night skins, etc. that I keep passing on. If they released classic costumes, I bet everyone would want them. I want the iconic outfits that I grew up with. I wonder why DC is so adamant that we move on? Anyway, I couldn't take WW's face anymore and tried to give her a makeover with a sharpie. I have to say, I felt weird and unmanly but , Girl seriously needed some mascara.

  5. Okay, I've been griping about not having any DC characters in this scale for a while as I don't collect 6 inch or 12 inch figures, so when I found out that these were coming out, I was fairly excited. I have been enjoying the new netherrealm video game lately and took a chance and got the 4 that have already been released. They come in packs of two, they have decent articulation as well. Unfortunately, there are more negatives IMO. First off, they are fairly expensive. I think I paid about $22 for each set. They have QC issues in that the paint jobs can really be flawed (see Wonder Woman's face), and I had some issues with Wonder Woman's knee joint. My biggest peeve is that they are smaller than Marvel Universe figures. Solomon Grundy looks great next to the Marvel figures, but the other three look...well, I guess like teenagers. It's not a horrible difference in height, but it's noticeable (sorry, I don't have a comparison shot). It would drive scale fanatics a little nuts. I guess I'm glad I have a few DC figures now, but I'm undecided on whether I get the ones that are coming out later. Anyway, here's a look at Green Arrow, Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, and Wonder Woman:

  6. Someone returned 15 Falcons to my Target a year and a half ago. I don't know why anyone would have that many in the first place, but after he exchanged them for all the different MU figures, they never sold, so they never restocked. No new Star Wars figs in my area since the Phantom Menace wave early last year. This is why I HAVE to order online. I assume that the Walmarts and Targets won't ever get anymore until the lines die and Hasbro remarkets the action figures as a new toy line.

  7. I got a huge shipment of these today (unfortunately, I have to stop collecting for a while as I will be jobless as of April sad.png ). Still, it was nice to get a cheer-me-up today.

Angel is phenomenal. I love the way these wings were done...Probably my favorite of the bunch.

Black Bolt uses the same technique as Spider-woman on his under-arm wings.

Hawkeye looks like a kit-bash of the Secret Wars version and Dark Hawkeye version.

Hercules is great. I love this new body mold...It's sturdy but it moves more easily than the Hulk mold.

Karnak is okay, I guess...not much interest in him.

Longshot is a disappointment. REALLY goofy face on him IMO...and too tall.

Medusa is a nice sculpt and her hair is used as kind of a stand (like Scarlet Witch's cape), but it makes her pretty useless as an action toy. I don't like rooted hair, but I think it would've worked better here.

Mockingbird is a Firestar repaint, but despite the inaccuracies (sleeves), this works for me...I like it a lot!

Nighthawk: I'm not too interested in this Batman wannabe, but it is a very cool looking fig. The cape is very light and I haven't had any issues with him toppling over, like I thought I would. Nice design.

Nova is a little disappointing to me. He looks so good in the pics, I thought he would be a fave, but my figure doesn't like to stand up. The extra sculpting hinders his arm movement, and I feel his head is too small.

Puck is the weakest figure to me. He isn't even as articulated as Hasbro's new Yoda figure, which is the same size...just lame to pay the same amount to get such a small C-Lister IMO.

Rogue. Finally! We get a Rogue. The Jim Lee outfit isn't my favorite, but I realize that it's her best-known one. They tried to give her some facial expression, which I respect... but it may not work for everyone. I think I would have stuck to a neutral expression, myself... and her face looks a little thin to me. Awesome articulation though...even her big mane of hair is sculpted to not get in the way of movement.

War Machine and Wolverine are basic repaints. I hate these colors for Rhodey...and I would have preferred the Wolverine head that we saw at SDCC, than this one that I already had... Grrrrrr.

These made my day though...and even jobless I will save to get the upcoming Emma Frost and Elektra figs. Must-Haves for me. LOL.

  8. he's packed with one of my all-time least favorite characters.

Hellpop, you just made me cry. :(

Storm & Rogue are my faves. Forget everything you learned in the cartoons and movies. In the 70s and 80s they were bad ass.

    Get outta town!

Sorry, but it's true. I don't have much use for Rogue either.

Sorry, I'm on my phone. The above post didn't come out right.

  9. BBTS has shipped their Wave 19 Pre-orders. I received mine today. Check out my pictures below:

Kang: This figure looks great. I like the metallic purple and the bright blue they used for the face. He'll look awesome in my Secret Wars set-up. Great villain choice!

    post-2001-0-34901000-1345842593_thumb.jp

Punisher: Huge improvement over the previous versions, with a great head sculpt. He has 4 weapons and the pistols and knife fit snugly in his holsters. One small gripe: The holsters attached to his legs slightly limit articulation and I can;t seem to get a good two-handed grip on his machine gun, but he's still great.

    post-2001-0-40997500-1345842607_thumb.jp

Scarlet Witch: Probably my favorite. I got one with a great paint job on her face. Her cape is longer than her legs, however. I think that this is to help stand her as she has very slender legs with high heels. Her energy blast looks cool, and she fits in great with the Avengers. The team just doesn't seem complete without her.

    post-2001-0-41195400-1345842623_thumb.jp

She-hulk: Nice and sturdy figure. I think the hair was glued slightly too low on mine, but at least the face was painted nicely. This is a great female figure and I'm excited about this new body mold for the larger gals.

    post-2001-0-33620500-1345842642_thumb.jp

Spider-Man: I received the Future Foundation version. He's my least favorite, I don't like the grayish paint wash and he looks a little too buff to me.
