  1. I believe this thread is appropriate for this week, the week of Halloween. Just got the weekly email from my comic shop and Series 12 is scheduled for its release this Wednesday for us left-coasters. Happy Halloween!
  2. Article Nothing really newsworthy. We've seen all these pics or similar ones before, I believe. The release date in that article is "To Be Determined".
  3. Here's some box art scans. Target Box Art Only Cyclops/Storm and Nightcrawler/Colossus are from the GS X-Men. Target also has the Dark Phoenix/Prof X and a Ben Reilly Spider-Man/Sandman (not shown because I didn't get it) packed in that case too. I also scanned a Iceman/Wolverine for you just for fun. Target carries that 2-pack, but it is in it's own seperate case.
  4. Hmmmm... Here's my take on the quote. It means that Series 12 was made first and ready to go. Then Series 13 was made next and ready to go. Since Series 13 was just made, they shipped that out by mistake in a "Last-In, First-Out" oopsie-fluke. Doesn't sound like Sentry is being fixed, but I'm hoping so.
  5. I got my weekly email list from my comic shop a day early. Usually they send it on Mondays. Anyway according to them, it doesn't look like we will getting Series 12 this week.
  6. That new 2-pack packaging just looks weird to me. It's just that the bend in the middle of the image looks wrong. I can understand the reason for wanting hooks, though. It'll give better product placement, especially at Target since the current minimates packaging can be overlooked. But I'm thinking that this is an early mock-up. I wonder if the Spider-Woman/Riot-Attack Spider-Man will be released somewhere? Not that it would affect me but it's interesting. Big points to AA for the DP Chase. Looks great. I'm going to need a few of those. I initially thought it would be only a different head with paler skin and black eyes. Is it me or does the DP chase's dress seem thinner than the normal figure's dress?
  7. To be fair, I picked one up a couple of years ago. Just judging the Shockini toy itself and nothing else, I thought it was okay and rather cool. The poseability thing and some weapons/accessories are a plus and I think some customizers would have a field day with them. But I just didn't feel it was the right mini-figure for me like Minimates are. Minimates are just cuter!
  8. Box art, to aid you in your search. BoxArt_1 Anything look familiar? BoxArt_2 Mugshots. BoxArt_3 Heh, DOFP. BoxArt_4 No, the glare is not from my scanner. It is actually there but not as bright when seen under normal conditions. Heh, DOFP again.
  9. Ady, I didn't want to insult your tastes in hats, but I really need to know. Do you really wear that hat in public?
  10. I'm rather skeptical about release dates, but could this be? If it is a Jan/Feb release for wave 14, then DC Minimates in Feb/March/April? Seems very ambitious, even if DC Minimates are released somewhat close to what they say. I don't want to doubt AA but I hope this is true.
  11. I concur with XManRCJ. No difference that I can see. I've glanced at them to see if anything is different, though I haven't taken them out to play with since I'm at work... But I am hoping that the Sentry's missing belt issue is being resolved and I am hoping that is the reason we got Series 13 before we got Series 12. I bet they are having some monkey sharpie the belt on, not that I mind at all.
  12. I noticed something just now about Beast. Apparently, he's been in the works for a couple of years. The back of his "big-chest" chest piece has a copyright of 2004! Yeah, I guess they are still using old parts. Oh, and by the way, I bought the normal figures at $8.99 a piece. Just to remind everyone about the price increase.
  13. How'd it taste, Ady? I respect that you are a man of your word. I hope you don't get indigestion. Well, Series 13, the Astonishing X-Men wave, showed up... in a newly designed package! Remember the blister packs that had the blue city background? Well, it's now the background for the figures instead of that purple/pink/whatever color. Basically, they updated their entire box package art. I think it looks good. More modern look, I suppose. The variant logo (the "VARIANT ENCLOSED!" label) is back on the chase figures. And for some reason, the chase figure is called DOFP Wolverine. What's a DOFP? Yeah, I thought that was strange and yes, I know it's Days Of The Future Past Wolverine, but I thought it was funny when I saw that on both the front and back. Nothing much else I can say. And no, I will not be able to post pictures until when I get back home later tonight. Sorry. I'm sure someone else will get to them first.
  14. I can't confirm anything yet until I get back, but it seems like you should get ready for a nice meal Ady! And no, you can't delete that post! There's too many witnesses!
  15. Get ready to eat your hat BTW, that avatar is spooky I keep checking the email I got from my comic shop to make sure my eyes are correct. But still, I'm rather skeptical of the promise of the release until I go to the comic shop in a couple of hours from now. But I want to see pics of Ady eating his hat! So I'm crossing my fingers!
  16. When the rest of the country gets them next week, it will be on next week's shipping list on Diamond's site promptly at 5pm ET/2pm PT. They always have done this, for some strange shipping reason. Don't worry.
  17. Correct. All new items appear on Wednesdays (except certain holidays, then it's Thursdays ).
  18. I meant from my comic shop. The weekly email I get from them about the new stuff they get each week. Sorry for the vagueness.
  19. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I got my weekly email and it listed Series 13 as being available this week! Yes, listed as Series 13 and we haven't got Series 12 yet, so that is very suspicious. We'll have to see what we get on Wednesday. Anyway, yeah, yeah, the excitement has died down a little due to the TRU packs, but I'm still thrilled. Also, I put an asterisk on the topic because I assume it is under the normal "for the West Coast first and next week for the rest of the country" thing in the past.
  20. I barely played with my Nightcrawler since the I've been playing with the TRU packs. But yes, mine were stiff too. I took off the lower torso and I held it under hot water (the hottest I could take before burning myself) for a little bit. While under the running water, I gently moved the legs in a motion of toes-pointing-towards-body and toes-pointing-away-from-body. One leg was stiffer than the other so I slowly increased how much force I was moving the leg. Eventually I got it so I could get the full range of motion of the legs and taking them off were not as easy as other minimates, which is probably due to the paint on the ball joints. I got them out fine. You might hear a snap when movement starts, though, but it's just a stiff joint/peeling some of the paint off in the ball joint snap. Although it could be a joint-snapping-off snap...
  21. You probably don't want to but if you still do, here's a better alternative: Marvel Edibles! http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/8432.shtml It's candy action figures that have 4 points of articulation! The workers at the comic shop I go to showed this to me in the newest Toyfare (I think). I remembered seeing a Wolverine, and I think a Hulk. Talk about having your cake and eating it too. At least when you are bored with it, you can make use of it and eat it.
  22. I guess people at my comic shop didn't care for the SF2 Minimates or Street Fighter in general. They don't order many SF comics to begin with so to me, there seems like a lack of interest. I've seen the SF Minimates moved around the store and I don't think anyone else has bought any, other than me. Normally, they can go through a case or two of Marvel Minimates, but SF Minimates don't seem to be as lucky. I expected video game stores to carry these, but I never saw them and that worried me about the line. I think they could have carried the line further.
  23. Anybody going to get both standard covers to form that larger image? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1f/JLACV1.JPG I won't since I'm not a DC nut but I'm more open to DC titles now, depending on the writers. Heck, I can barely name half the characters and that's thanks to watching JLU.
  24. And I thought the mystery line-up was going to be finalized at the end of the first arc. Brad Meltzer was very, very secretive at SDCC when he was being grinded by a supposed lawyer.
  25. Blind packs are too hit-or-miss for me to try to collect them all and so far, I have fought my temptation on getting a few. Are there clear pictures of the imported SF Minimates to compare on the box?
