  1. THANKS! I did use that head at first for that very reason but it seemed to get a little to framed out by the hairpiece I used. I think the facial features were just set to wide. If I had it I think the hairpiece from the DC Raven? (the chick in purple) would be top notch.
  2. I've come to consider the single MVC sentinel I have as Master Mold.
  3. My original thought for the Avengers villain was, in fact, Namor. But I think Fox owns him with the Fantastic Four (More's the pity), If they don't I'd LOVE to see Atlantis invade from the ocean with Namor at the head but... There's not much of a precedent for his appearance. If he was involved in Captain America with the Invaders I'd call it a certainty, but with Fox probably owning the rights and the lack of any hint of Atlantis existing in this Marvel universe (whereas we know about the 9 realms and with the 9 realms we know there's life in Space giving credence to the alien theory) I find Namor to be rather... unlikely. Thanos has a bit of a precedent with the Infinity Gauntlet being in Odin's treasure room and not only just appearing there but also showing up at freakin Comic Con and being prominent at Comic Con. The Gauntlet would probably not have made it to CC unless they planned SOMETHING with it. We didn't see that in Thor. Means we may see it in The Avengers. I think Namor, character-wise, may be a better choice. But I also think that Namor would be harder to fit into the concept of this Marvel U than having Thanos come down from space. I think, honestly, our villains are space creatures, they'll be led by someone prominent that isn't from the Kree or the Skrull and that something is most likely Thanos or maybe Anhillus Fin Fang Foom would be AMAZING if they could get him right. Absolutely astounding. And yeah when the dust clears and Fin Fang Foom lies defeated we could see some Chinese fellow walk up and pluck from the body of the beast a few shiny rings... 10 to be exact... And Fin Fang Foom and his dragon people coming from the Nine Realms, Niflheim to be exact, would make sense. We have Nidhogg the Dragon from there and for all we know he could have many names. My question is... would he work in Minimate form? I don't know about that so much... If the Redacted General is that serpent and the serpent is Fin Fang Foom... a minimate of him would be a bit... bizarre looking. This would be just spectacular with mandarin as a villain for the next IM flick = epic win
  4. My shield assemblage. I couldn't wait for better pics to post. too excited, lol. Nick, Dum Dum, Johnny Woo, Jasper Sitwell, Maria Hill and Sharon Carter. I know some of these have been done all the way around but was having to much fun not to post. Bring on M.O.D.O.K.
  5. That Maestro had better come with a little bandolier full of trophy "skulls" ala the toy biz figure from back in the day. If not, heads will roll!
  6. McQuarries work was a huge influence on me when I was a kid/teenager. I was very saddened to hear of his passing, so many timeless designs and concepts from one man. Well done Sir, Rest in peace.
  7. I love all music genres. Normally I can always find something I like. My current faves are things like Benny benasi, Fedde LeGrand, etc. Lots of Pop, Hip-Hop and House mixes.
  8. I love Silver Age Marvel. My current pride and joy is a full Doc Strange run, all three runs. I've just started working on his strange tales issues. my two favorite segments are the Bronze age run and the very short Silver self titled series.
  9. that Johnny looks great, excellent choice on the hairpiece
  10. I'm a Chi-town native, I would love to meet my fellow versers but have really lost interest in the cons as of late (although c2e2 is surrounded by positive buzz) Maybe you folks are up for a dinner meet up at the end of the day?
  11. I enjoy the hell out of both Trek and X-Men but somehow this never grabbed me. However are you telling me Khan was the main baddie in these stories?
  12. I'm still pinning for the shuttle craft as well, but the return of this line would make me a very happy trekkie/trekker (whatever) I think the lines real failure was a lack of focus. Something that went solely on one show might have done better IMHO. I.E. The Marvel line is spectacular for me because of all the b-listers and background characters we've gotten that flesh out the top names. A Trek line that went just with say TOS and featured the big three as well as some aliens and background characters every wave might do a lot better than trying to pepper a line with all the different shows in the Trekverse that have come down the pike
  13. Welcome to the boards. This is a fantastic community of collectors, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here.
  14. LOL, nice pick for a Howard villan
  15. LMAO, you just sparked a memory of losing my stretch armstrong. Pretty sure I cranked my sister a good one up side the head with that thing and it was confiscated to never be seen again
  16. hmm, That sometimes happens when a movie is a success. Stretch and co. I'm sure are high priced items now because of their slightly fragile nature. I do remember when this was a brand new item, it was advertised as nigh almost indestructible. Nothing could have been further from the truth, if allowed to get too cold they would become quite brittle and I seem to recall the instructions calling for band-aids to repair any minor tears in his hide. Toys that were very easily broken from our youth have a tendency to carry high prices in adulthood as "collectibles"
  17. this would be more fun w/some pictures
  18. Thanks much for the compliments! Dr Strange villain's are some of my faves. Some how I can't picture a Umar ever being made though.
  19. The unspeakable Umar. Repainted Sans Saref Formal gown dress piece, Repainted shoulder things from TRU Namor, modern Mandarins hair piece, silver slip over cuffs from the parts bucket with a vampire Jubilee chest block source art
  20. I disagree strongly about the best being done already. The ultimate army builder is yet to come. I'm awaiting the arrival of about a million Moloids for my Mole Man to command (I'd also like a few hundred "mindless ones" for Dormammu to lord over}
  21. Rom was some fine comic reading back in the day, so much so it still holds up well today.another great Mantlo "toy" title was Micronauts, great stuff there as well. The only bit of revival I have ever heard of was a rumored anime called "Rom Spaceknight" though I have never had much success tracking it down.
  22. I agree about General Ross if they made that exact figure in Air Force blue for a comic style Ross I would be thrilled. The swat style Blonsky from that wave is kind of an epic figure as well
  23. Yes it is first class mystiques. Pistol or weapon should be of your own choice I think, I used what I had on hand
  24. Glad you like it Liney! I would love to make that addition but it doesn't keep in line with a factory paint job. I am capable of painting a mate so it looks good but its just not the same as a factory paint app. I have a silly large anal retentive streak/OCD thing going on, makes it tough for me to break a pattern. There have been rare instances where I will paint a whole piece (i.e. Mole Mans cape) but for the most if I do use a little paint its for something in the way of a finishing touch like Dormammu's mouth or Odin's red belt. That said if that piece is released in white at some point I would for sure come up with a sticker or decal for the skull belt.
  25. I've been wanting to get parts for this mod for a while now. Stupid simple but I really like the updated look it gives the figure
