Rock Steady

I was thinking of using the TRU 16 Iron Man (the one with Rhino, think it's wave 16) feet, I dunno if it would be accurate to how Resuce looks, but I love how those Iron Man boots look, so if the paint matches, I'm gonna use those ones.

Personally, I found the Logan/Scott/Jean love triangle incredibly forced in the movie and not helped by me feeling as if Famke Janssen and Hugh Jackman didn't have such great chemistry. I felt that plot line was the low point of all the movies. Like, out of all the time Logan's been alive, all the people he's met and knew and watched die, what makes Jean so special?

Just kinda curious about this, is there anything you really would've changed about these 'Mates, Zach? Personally, I love almost all the ones you made for the movie, I think it got out a bulk of the cast plus some awesome Wolverine looks. But I definitely would've made Shingen in the samurai armor, or maybe just given him a few samurai pieces to place over the suit (much like he did at the end). Past that, I think we got a REALLY nice movie wave. Got almost all the main cast and like I've said before that's why I love getting the movie 'Mates over what most other companies put out because you guys always get a great bulk of the main cast out there, I love it! But now I'm just rambling haha Is there any different looks or characters you'd have picked for this wave?

That look is one of my favorites for Punisher. I thought Rucka's run was the best thing to happen to Frank since Ennis's 60 issues of Punisher MAX. Really hopping we eventually get the beard and eye bandage look. Until then though, I think this is definitely gonna be my default Punisher. Just a great looking 'Mate. Thought of trying a QC with the Amazon exclusive Rick Grimes? HAIL IVAN I never really though of using that head. I have an unfinished kitbash sitting around with an Origins Logan head and Nova/Sam hair with an eye patch made out of some white sticker paper with some lines drawn on. I might revisit it though with that Rick's head, thanks for the suggestion, man!

I actually really like the idea of a "New FF" boxset. I've always liked that idea and the uniforms and been looking for a way to make customs of them. Plus, the idea of the alt pieces for a Savage Grey Hulk is just really cool.

I don't mind getting Norman (totally easy Tex Richman custom lol), but if I had to chose between the two, Harry seemed to totally be the way to go. A lot of the picks in this wave just seem really odd. Hopefully there will be some way to round out the cast. Has there been any word of TRU not picking up an exclusive for this? EDIT: Ah, well, never mind some of my post then haha just saw Zach's!

Agreed with that! Really was hoping we'd get Harry in this assortment. It overall seems a little lackluster. Would've vastly preferred Rhino over just plain Aleksei, and another set of Peter and Gwen? Why? Much rather would've gotten Peter/Harry or Gwen/Harry, no need for them both. Interesting about Smythe, though. Sucks we aren't getting a Goblin :/ Oh, well. Hopefully they'll at least be visually appealing or something! I have some faith in DST to knock this wave out of the park, even if it isn't the best character selection, in my opinion.

I actually love how Punisher and Elektra came out. I'm probably one of the few people who's warm to her because I have yet to pick up and Elektra. Deadpool looks awesome, I actually dig that unmasked face more than the wave 28 one. The face just feels so Deadpool, but I would have preferred if he had pupils. Punisher is one of my favorite Marvel characters so any 'Mate of him is welcome, and this one seems to be perfect. My only complaint is that I wish he had two different torsos instead of reversible. Would be a great way to get the coatless look. Here's hoping we get one of how he looked in Rucka's run one day, that look with the bandaged eye was tops. Red Hulk seems like a great update, and the transforming Ross underneath is awesomely done. This set just looks really cool!

Wait, so is that something actually being released? Because both of those look REALLY awesome!

Does Red Hulk have a normal Minimate crotch or one of those extended ones?

I'm fine with having not gotten the giant robot Silver Samurai, but I really wish we got that badass samurai armor Shingen wore when fighting Wolverine. That would've been an awesome 'Mate.

Dang, sad to hear that TRU is ditching Thor AND Cap on the supplemental packs :/ Do you know and/or can say if that's how it's gonna be for movie waves going forward? If so, is there anything you could workout like a boxset, like pk13 said or maybe some form of con exclusive?

I'm actually really excited for this line up. I kinda fell out of Marvel comics, so I'm sure I'm in a minority when I say I always look forward to receiving movie waves because that's where I get most of my Marvel exposure. This sounds like a solid assortment and hopefully TRU will have some exclusives. I'm pretty excited to add Sitwell to my movie S.H.I.E.L.D. 'Mates, especially after his cameo in this weeks Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode.

Having just come back from seeing the film, can't wait to get these! All in all, great picks from DST, shame TRU pulled out though :/ but I think it's a solid line up that really gets the heavy-hitters of the film out.

They're different. One is the hero version, one is the villain. The villain has longer hair and the red star on his arm.I wonder if there's any difference in the Falcons? He's had a few versions of the red and white costume. Hard to tell with the one on the right since Redwing is blocking him. Ah! Thank you, this whole time I had assumed Falcon was the variant and Winter Soldier was gonna have alternate parts. Thanks for the info, man!

So is it just my eyes, or are the two Winter Soldiers there two different shades of blue? Is that how the final release is going to be? Or is that just the lighting in the display case?

So, my Yukio/Black Clan Ninja and Viper/Black Clan Ninja came in the mail today (got them from some third party seller on Amazon) gotta say the ninjas are some of the sleekest 'Mates I've gotten in a while. Despite being all black, the detail is not lost due to the different shades used. The vest is REALLY cool, I can see it getting a lot of custom use, very nice looking biker-ish jacket. Yukio, though lacking any gear, is a very nice figure. The likeness is solid, in my mind. Great to see her red and grey stripes going all around her arms and not just on the front. Her detailing is very nice. Though I would've preferred the jumpsuit look, Viper is very well done. The two heads are both done nice, great hair, and those sunglasses are super cool. Overall, really digging them. They may just be civilian 'Mates but I find them really beautifully done. MUCH kudos to DST. EDIT: Don't wanna double post, so I'll edit this in. Just received Wolverine/Mariko and Wolverine/Shingen today. Shingen is a little disappointing. He bares more of a resemblance to Noburo (think that was his name. Mariko's fiancee) than to Shingen Yashida. He reuses Movie Thor's hairpiece, but overall is a nice 'Mate if you're into Asian dude's in fancy suits. Mariko is nice, nothing special bit a decent likeness and well painted. Suit Wolverine is actually really cool. Maybe it's because that scene in the movie was really cool but something about this Wolverine just tickles my fancy. The Hugh Jackman likeness is good, I think the Origins ones had a strong likeness though. Street Fight Wolverine is my favorite though. The detail on the arms is amazing. Hair and veins tampo'd on just give the arms the look of how Wolverine's arms should look. Toss a comic Wolverine head on there and you got the perfect comic civilian Logan. The beater is nicely detailed, love the mud splatters on his knees. The face is great with a furrowed brown and his mouth yelling in the classic Wolverine rage. Overall, these may not be everyone's cup of tea, but they highlight what I love about Minimates, specifically the movie waves. Hasbro didn't even bother giving us any figures based off the movie, and the three of four they made were practically statues. Between the LCS and the TRU sets, Minimates gave us basically every character sans like 2 or 3. They may not have the wow factor of the comic 'Mates, but it's hard to not respect their ability to get us almost the entire cast of the movie. Thanks, DST!

Is Onslaught's helmet removable, or is his head one sculpted piece?

Pretty late to the party but, for that Kanye custom, is the head an actual 'Mate head or a custom decal?

Just wanna throw in my two cents, I enjoyed what they did with SFXT. Sure, in hindsight there are a few I would've rather had instead of some of the ones chosen, but I think what really could've helped the line was if we got some cool effects pieces that the old SF and the MVC lines got. The mates were cool and had some awesome designs, but they felt pretty bare.

I think the Ghostbuster's NYC Mayor has the perfect tie for Savin, even has the kinda open collar/loose tie combo that I believe Savin was rocking.
