  1. Why is it a blank and not a Gruntos variant?! Aside from the fact I’d be angry I couldn’t get a Gruntos variant (he’s the only Battle Beast I like, such detail, such mass, such actually able to stand!) he just makes too much sense to give away at a TUSKK screening, it’s THEMATIC!!! He’s a WALRUS!!! I certainly hope someone was fired for that oversight!
  2. ah, so my Cthulhu set is going to be solicited the same month as the NBX set since they’re both October releases
  3. The box set is CLEARLY the Cthulhu/Lovecraft line I guessed we might be getting after they announced the bank. tangentially related products: Internet Creative types often have Cthulhu fight Godzilla in art pieces, the Real Ghostbusters met Cthulhu, Dr.Strange has to have met Cthulhu or Cthulhu like beings right?, Cthulhu and the Ancient ones are a mainstay in tabletop games making them a natural fit with the Pathfinder minimates. One could make a case Lovecraft’s standing as a master of horror makes it a companion line to Universal Monsters or Aliens/Predators. Here’s where Zach quotes my post and shots it down, but eh, it is to dream right. (I don’t want to guess on the 2-packs, Venture Bros. seems possible if it’s a “Thundercats Ho!” scenario where Bif!Bang!Pow! commissioned the series but decided not to make them an Entertainment Earth exclusive... but I don’t even want to speculate for fear of soul crushing heart break)
  4. So what *IS* the point of blind bags then? I don’t mean to throw shade here, but you had several people hunting down Kraang for you and ended up with two, maybe you’re not in the best place to judge how sucky blind bag hunting can be, not everyone has that kind of support system. To someone who doesn’t know the strips have a set order or has trouble sussing out the contents of bags (the key chains make that REALY hard to do by the by) the only options for Kraang are buying bags they THINK might be Kraang (and having bought a Mutie Mikey I thought was a regular Donnie, let me tell ya, nothing sucks more then spending nearly $6 on something you don’t want when you thought you had the one thing you were after) OR spend $20 on eBay, and when Kraang can end up costing $12+ (assuming you guess wrong only once) you start saying “f**k this!” a lot more then you say “hells yeahs turtles!” I mean, take a look at this: Edit: this should be a link to a video, but it won’t post it, so go to youtube and add: /watch?v=0HyofXDpT64 to find it. Pixel Dan is a well known toy reviewer (or at least well known for his closeness to Mattel) but he: -Doesn’t know the Mutagens are One Per Case -Doesn’t know about the Mikey/Raph switch up -Doesn’t know the case pack out -Doesn’t know how many bags are in the box -Doesn’t know what Mutagen turtles are out now and misleadingly says “I think all four might have variants” which is going to confuse his viewers -Doesn’t know the bags come in a set order** so we’re forced to watch him open the doubles and be stumped by it If someone “in the know” is soooooo clueless, what hopes does Joe Four Color have when he finds a box at this LCS, unaware these existed until he saw the box let alone aware TRU sells them in two packs, and over come by nostalgia just wants Raph, his favoritest turtle, to put on his dashboard? He’ll pick up a bag and feel a shell and think “sweet! this ones a turtle... but is it Raph?!” and after feeling a couple more and realizing the turtles feel pretty similar if you don’t know what you’re looking for it turns too “pretty sure this one is Leo... but these three have small tubes on their backs that could be sai holders... are these sais or nunchucks?!” they bite the bullet and buy what they’re 90% HAS to be Raph, and get ffffffuuuuuuuuu they WERE nunchucks! He just spent $6 (this is the one LCS that doesn’t add a crazy mark up) on f*cking Mikey, his least favorite turtle... does he spend another $6 on the one he also thought might be Raph? ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! He’s not spending another $6 on what might be ANOTHER MIKEY, F this! **also, the LCS boxes having a set order... as soon as store owners find out about this (it only takes ONE assh*le bragging to them about how easily they got mutagen Raph) they’re gonna start scrambling the contents before they put the boxes out, so enjoy first try Mutagen Raphs while they last... TL,DR: Blind Bags are fun if you want a random figure, but if you want a specific figure they suuuuuuck, so the Toyark article isn’t wrong to make a HUGE point about how much it sucks, especially since they do post a lot of good pictures AND mention the 2-packs as an option.
  5. I regret NOTHING as far as not getting Vegeta goes since I want his Non-SS Cell Saga look, if I had gotten SS I’d hate the golden hair, if I had gotten tracker I’d hate the armor, either way I’d still HAVE to cough up another $40+ once my prefered Vegeta finally came out... that said, it hurts not having the Prince of ALL Saiyans on my shelf... I keep thinking I can find a Da Tong knockoff and customize it so I won’t feel bad throwing it away once the REAL one comes out, but even those are starting to get a little too pricy for a throw away knock off. HOLY HELL! I knew he was big, but that’s crazy! (I also like Red Hulk and Magneto have their mini doubles, that’s a nice touch)
  6. Yes! This thread is useless without pictures.speaking of: Got Goku and Picollo for Christmas, they look totes spiff hanging out with Sailor Scouts and Lum... now I just need a Non-Super Saiyan Cell Saga Vegeta (c’mon Bandai, it doesn’t count as re-issuing an exclusive if you redeco him with his normal hair!) and my DBZ collection is complete... unless the impossible happens and they offer up Mr.Satan and Great Saiya-Man... and if they do that I’ll break down and spend the $200 on Perfect Cell too... but until then, I’m a non-SS Vegeta away from being happy with my DBZ collection.
  7. Interesting... but all four turtles are still in the second wave right? Unrelated edit: I saw one of these at TRU today (just one, a lone Tiger guy) and they’re 6inch (5inch? I don’t know how big the regular line is) scale. So I guess they’re supposed to compete with Mashers not minimates, unless there’s a mini-line coming out too I didn’t see.
  8. So is it safe assume it’s Casey, Dog Pound, Fish Face, and non-fly Baxter, Going by what other toy lines have made?
  9. The Soul Gem is Nick Fury’s eye patch. It’s the first thing we see in the trailer, and think about this: When he goes into hiding, pretending to be dead he takes it off... the walking dead don’t have souls, right!!! See how it’s all falling into place. So there’s the 5th gem: Nick Fury’s eye patch, literally right in front our eyes the whole time...
  10. Do you have a source that’s more official? Typing “Loki Infinity War” into google just turns up aggregate sites reporting on the information when you think The Hollywood Reporter or Variety at least would have mentioned it.I mean, when did Feige say that? Where? Why? Did he just blurt it out when signing Hiddleston contract? What’s the context behind the announcement? This sounds very much like “ComicBookNews” confirming Brian Cranston was Lex Luthor (with Matt Damon in talks to play Aquaman or Martian Manhunter) story which was then widely reported by aggregates as well rather then an official confirmation. (I do look forward to how foolish I’ll look in May if A2:AoU does confirms it’s a stone though)
  11. But it was left in Stark Tower, last handled by Black Widow. So if Thor knows he needs to take the cube with him, wouldn’t his next thought after putting the cube in it’s little cell and handcuffing Loki be “oh hey! I should grab the scepter too since it’s an Infinity Stone, shouldn’t just let it flop around wildly... where did it end up?! GUYS!! GUYS!!! Where did we leave the scepter it’s REALLY important we find it too!!!!” The fact it goes missing and every’s okay with it, the Asgardians, SHIELD, Thanos, etc, no one has tried to reclaim it yet besides HYDRA (who probably just took it when SHIELD did the clean up), the fact in Thor 2 they make a point two of them shouldn’t be in the same place but are fine with leaving one behind on Earth which has proven it can’t keep it say implies it’s not that important.... yet. **I will concede that while it’s clearly not an Infinity Stone in Avengers, but I don’t think they really had a road map in place by then and they can change their mind and make it one, if they want to have a character in A2:AoU say “You thought it was just powered by the Tesseract, but no, it’s a stone of equal or greater POWER!!!” then cool it’s a stone too... but right now, aside from conjecture based on a blurry video (officially produced or not if Marvel wanted it to be confirmation they’d have released a clear HD version by now) we don’t have an enough info to call it a stone.
  12. that trailer doesn't do anything but show the scepter with the known stones, no new data saying it's one on them... By this logic the back of some guys head is the 5th stone because it's just as heavily featured in the video It's like having a row of American money on a tablet, you'd assume Ben Franklin was a President because he's shown along with them, but really he's just a figure of importance and was highlighted for that reason (the scepter will be the maguffin in A2 stone or not) Avengers,Cap: his stick is like a Hydra weapon Fury: I don't know about that but it is powered by the cube Selvig says it can't defend against itself, not against similar power sources In Thor 2 the Asgardians know an awful lot about the stones, but we're fine just leaving the scepter on Earth? Why not take it to the Collector since Shield already lost one stone why trust them with a different one? Also, you wouldn't use a remote to find a TV but what if you had a key fob linked to a car, you'd give someone that key fob to Boop around a lot full of cars to find the car it's ublocking, right? The key fob is not a car itself but it's direct link to the car makes it an infinitely useful tool in finding it
  13. Nope, that’s conjecture, not confirmation. The trailer goes like this: Tesseract: Scepter Aether: Thor fighting Malik surrounded by the Aether The Orb: Guardians using the Power of Friendship to harness its power It does linger on an admittedly greener Scepter, but given the other gems are shown THEN an example of their power is shown, it seems more likely it’s showing the scepter as part of the tesseract’s power. Unless there’s a quote from Feige or Wheddon saying it’s a stone, we only have conjecture and the movies, and the movies (unless A2:AoU retcons it) say it’s powered by the tesseract. and it’s really weird to me the mind gem is the most literal in name, especially since Loki already had mind control powers.
  14. So here’s what I want to know: How exact does the tesseract affect “space”, the aether “reality”, and the Orb have more ‘power’ then the those two since they all 3 just release colored light and blow sh*t up? If the scepter is the mind gem (and not just enhancing Loki’s own mind control powers) why is it the most literal of all the gems while the other three seem to have the same power sets? The scepter being the gem seems more like fans really wanted to see all of the gems right now, especially since the movie makes references to it being tesseract powered (which can be retconed if they want, but taking only clues from the movies and not from MovieMinutesNewsNow.blogstop.com it’s tesseract powered) There’s still Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, Thor 3 (which I bet is about Thanos attacking Asgard to get the gauntlet from the armory, what with it being called “a game changer” and being right before Infinity War) so three more gems, three more movies set off world where they could encounter the three gems seems logical, right? (this is of course assuming the gems are scattered, it’s possible another was on Earth all along and it shows up in CA3:tCW or Ant-Man or Black Panther, or that Thanos doesn’t have all 6 by start of Infinity War and Captain Marvel or the Inhumans introduce it... but that seems less likely then the scepter being a gem.)
  15. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=DMC12257&mode=retail DST is dipping its toes into the world of Lovecraft... So, minimates? ....please. We got minimates of the Femmes Fatales when they wanted to make statues, theyre already making NBX* minimates so why not make a companion line to REALLY interest the Hot Topic crowd... We deserve a Cthulthu to fight Stay Puft, Godzilla, and Galactus!
  16. but the Lego Advent Calendars aren’t just minifigs, there’s also small ships made up of a couple blocks to pad out the set. A Minimate set would have to have smaller items or else it would cost $100-$140 So I’m going to pitch this idea: -First Day is a basic “Best of” Style mini-figure, each with an ornament hook necklace similar to the turtle keychains -next day, is an alternate Torso that’s a character specific “ugly holiday sweater” (Spidey’s is a bunch of webs, Wolverines X’s, etc) -the third day is an alternate hair piece with Santa hat sculpted on (maybe an alternate laughing/caroling face too) -the forth day is a personalized mug (now that the mold exist) of hot drink to keep them warm (Wolverine’s is a Jean Grey Institute mug, Spidey’s is a Daily Bugle, Thor’s says “If you be worthy may you wield this cocoa and now the power of THOR”, etc) -The fifth day is a few small accessory like a candy cane or a present not themed to the character that they can hold -Repeats every 5 days until Christmas (or course in place of a small item on the 25th you get another minimate, however unlike the other 5 who are iconic big names, this one should something special. Like a Hulkbuster or Deadpool dressed in a sculpted Santa outfit where you just need to switch his face to have a Santa mate... something really cool.) That way you get FIVE great minimates that don’t have to be Christmas themed forever so you can give it to Marvel fans as an introduction to minimates not just as a supplement like the Lego sets, the alternate parts highlight the swapablity, and for long time collectors the sixth figure and the holiday accessories would be the draw.
  17. I know... That list left off Batman: the Brave and the Bold!!! They got WORSE figures then Superman and Batman Beyond, THEY DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCE MORE THEN YOUNG JUSTICE!Also, Static Shock and Freakazoid... don’t care if they’re not technically DC Universe shows (although Static did eventually crossover) they never got toys so they should be made too! (I mean, Bruce Timm designed Freakazoid! That has to count for something!)
  18. the couch is all that matters, Buzz (aka Beyond Infinity Iron Man, he has a helmet replacing the Kubrick Buzzs head) just happened to be on the shelf when I took the picture. Looks like the middle section was removed to convert it into a loveseat.on the nose, I thought the Mark 42 looked a little weird sitting on a three-seater so I too out the middle. Nemesis, I thought that too but I thought I saw sinestro's hand in there and there shouldn't be room for that to work. Its Holocust Nemesis hand, I dremeled the base so he could fit his hand in. Try to steer back on topic: Full group shot. Theyre really fun looking. Alt. Sheldon with Chinese food hands (Jules is there just to show the different food options) Full couch pictured, the couch is set up so the arm rest are identical pieces each with a male peg, the middle and Sheldons spot are identical and have a male and female peg, and the first seat is a unique piece and has two female pegs. So if you buy both sets you can assemble a 5-seater and an arm chair (or a four-seater and a love seat if thats your jam), each additional set will let you add on two more seats to your infinity-couch and make one more arm chair.
  19. I like these sets all the characters look like their actors (which isn’t something a lot of minimates pull off, Starlord doesn’t really look that much like Chris Pratt for example) and they’re very colorful. Here’s some random pictures: Flash Sheldon is staying with the main group, but I think GL Sheldon looks just fine with these guys. The Mark 42 has NEVER said no to a good sit and I’ll always think of Howard as Moist, I like to think tBBT is an origin story that will end with a horrible lab accident that kills everyone but Howard but causes him to sweat uncontrollably... I probably should have had Penny in that picture, there’s probably a joke there too.
  20. So question on the topic of reissues: I know Bandai will never reissue Scouter Vegeta or Super Saiyan Vegeta exactly as they were released before, because they were exclusives or some such. But is there any chance they might issue a repaint of Super Saiyan Vegeta with Black hair? I didn’t buy either Vegeta because his non-SS Cell Saga look is my favorite, and I thought I should wait for that one, but with his price sky rocketing and people saying they don’t reissue exclusives I’m starting to worry I missed my chance. Am I going to have to buy one of those Da Tong SS Vegetas and repaint his hair? Or might Bandai realize they’re sitting on an easy repaint and make an official one someday and I’m freaking out for nothing?
  21. I got my Batman and Catwoman today from BBTS (Freeze and Two-Face have to until January now, they should have come out sooner if they wanted to be shipped before the holiday season, it’s their own fault) and while I haven’t opened them yet (I’m taking ZERO chances, I’m going to carefully cut them out of their boxes then soak them in a nice hot pot of water to loosen them but I haven’t the time yet... I did how however draw a bath tub and say “I’ll draw them a bath to loosen their joints” then laugh and wonder why Bruce didn’t strike Alfred for making that horrible joke to begin with.) But they look really nice... I’m excited EDIT:Carefully cut them open, boiled them for a little bit, and they’re FAN-F**KING-TASTIC! My Batman has a bum knee (it’s stuck, and even after boiling won’t budge) but I didn’t plan on moving it anyway so that’s fine... both of my Catwomen (got one for a custom... I need to repaint her in modern colors and sculpt some goggles) are flawless...
  22. So that explains why Starlord says “back off, Ninja Turtle” to something that looks nothing like a Ninja Turtle...
  23. I’m glad to see Vanilla Ice is so well received (even if ironically) ScarJo’s head (probably Avengers? I’m not sure), Jean Grey/MvC3 Phoenix hair, AoA Rogue torso, some yellow hip piece I couldn’t place if I had to, Moby’s leg’s swapped at the knee with some white legs, belt unknown, Rachel Grey’s arms with the sleeve cuffs pushed all the way up, flesh colored hands... Although if you have the available parts Mnemosis’ Firestar based April really is superior to mine, it’s got a cuter hair cut and more accurate torso: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=9868
