How can they make DC Selects though? Mattel has such a hold on the license NECA couldn’t release their 7 inch Keaton Batman as anything but a freeium DVD add-on. They choose the bigger set for Ghostbusters (as opposed to the set that was just an Ecto-1) but it never amounted to anything but an Ecto-1 (I want my f**king modular Ghostbusters firehouse Lego!!!) I’m excited for Doctor Who legos, they can hang out with Abe Lincoln, Doc and Morty... but now someone needs to find a way to make Bill and Ted into a viable set.

I signed up for the first month... I want that 6 inch Hulk Buster Pop (it’ll look great in my minimate armory, like as a giant robot) I’ll probably drop it after that since it’s nearly $10 extra with tax and shipping and I don’t wear novelty shirts (which eats up $20 or so of “$50 value”) I’m willing to spend $35 on the Hulkbuster because I know it’ll be more on eBay, but I can’t imagine an Ant-Man item I’d *need* so bad I’d be willing to spend $35 on. One of my co-works gets Lootcrates and she seems happy with it, she gave me an ugly Joker-as-Batman-Batman (what the product was seriously called) Pop! from one of them because she didn’t want it... but she wears novelty shirts though, so to her it’s probably “buy a T-shirt get free stuff” and not “buy a T-shirt you don’t want to get a thing you do want for slightly over market price instead of eBay’s CRAZY OVER market price” which must seem like a better value.

I like to think everyone who has found them is just too shy to say anything I think it goes a little like this, played out in hundred of homes across out great land, in fact the guy who goes to the very TRU you also shop at and left a full wave on the pegs is thinking this right now: “well I should let everyone know they’re out... but I don’t want to brag, plus I’d feel bad if my TRU got them first and someone else has to wait two week... plus, my phone doesn’t take good photos and I’d be SO embarrassed if someone said ‘pics or it didn’t happen’ how could I defend my gentlemanly honor?! Other people already explained what was cut from Nancy, but Hartigan’s face wasn’t the problem it was the hair it lacks Willis’ receding hairline he’s had since the 80’s and while he does have longish hair for Bruce Willis in the movie, the piece used is down right shaggy. It combines to make the face look less like Willis then it should, it looks like a generic action guy, or maybe if you’re generous what Bruce Willis THOUGHT he looked like in the movie when he grew his hair out. If you put Senator Rourke’s (that’s the other guy who’s not Nancy, Hartigan, or Yellow Bastard right?) hair piece on him his Willisocity shoots up 70% and he looks pretty decent, the receding hair line gives him the Willisy hair shape we’ve seen for years and then you start to see the Willisiness in his eyes and mouth. But I shouldn’t have to sacrifice one character from a box set to save another (granted, I have no use for Senator Rourke, since the lines not going to deliver EVERY citizen of Basin City I don’t need the few minor screen time ones we get on my shelf, if you like them, cool, we just have different views on the world and that’s important and awesome. But just because I personally would have thrown Senator Rouke into my spares bin doesn’t mean I should have HAD to just to save Hartigan.)

OH SNAP! AMAZING ALTERNATE FACES! I wasn’t thrilled with the first Sin City set (Nancy had a lot of parts cut making her very plain, Hartigan looks NOTHING like Willis) so I was expecting this one to be meh too, but I guess I was wrong (heads over to BBTS to add a second set to his order)

Good news! Tina Fey is working on “Untitled Witch Movie” which she describes as “in the vein of Ghostbusters” (you may remember hearing about it when every news site on the internet reported it as “Tina Fey NOT making Hocus Pocus 2”) http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/tina-fey-star-witch-movie-disney-article-1.1855459 so we may still get to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler fighting the supernatural yet! (unless “Sisters” and “Ghostbuster (2016)” flop... in which case, oh well.)

Since he’s probably a prototype or still just a render it wouldn’t matter anyway, we saw Wave 1 in full with no hip-holes up until they showed pictures of the production samples a month before they came out. I’m much more worried we haven’t seen any production samples of Joker/Ivy/Robin/Man-Bat (Man-Bat we’ve never even seen a finally articulation version of yet, they claim he’ll have 18 points but haven’t shown anything besides the 5 point mock-up) they said they would fix the problem before “the next wave” I’m beginning to fear they meant the Harley wave and wave 2 still has the peg holes.

That poll *has* to just be a “generate excitement about figures we’re going to make” poll and not a “we’re judging to see if people actually want these characters” poll because there’s no way they wouldn’t make any of them. That said, the fact Dark Knight Returns Batman and Robin are on the list fills my heart with joy, not just because I love DKR but because it means they’re considering one-off character designs... I’m hoping this means Tygrus is on the table for a future release.

Got mine today... One of my chickens (the only one I’ve fully opened so far) is very poorly made, knee peg isn’t inserted properly and he popped apart at the middle... the paint’s really sloppy across the board too.<br /><br />My wife likes them enough, so eh, money well spent... but I probably won’t be as generous with the Mythic Legends Kickstarter (if I even go at all.)

Gargoyles are animals according to the creator (although he meant that in the theyre not magical creatures way, he also says humans are animals)... of course its not Gargoyles though, because that would be amazing and if DST had the Gargoyles license maybe Jean St. Jean could sculpt some amazing Gargoyles Selects and then I could die having a life with no regrets or unfulfilled dreams. Also its weird to me they wouldnt have Elisa or Xanatos in the first wave, I know Demona could fill both roles as a love interest and a villain but she was secondary to both humans in that regard, plus who wants Demona without MacBeth?! Thats like saying Oh no Macaroni for me thanks, this big old bowl of neon orange cheese sauce is all I want for lunch!.... it would also mean no Human Demona variant, and now were just throwing money away! As a weirdo who only likes things as ‘sets’ I’d say leave them in their packages. Leo and Mike on their own aren’t as fun as all four, but two promos in their bags look neat... then if they make a red Raph and purple Donnie this year you can get them and open all four at once and have a lovely set. (or leave them all four in their bags... I guess my answer really just sort of kicks the can down the road rather than answering it.)
