  1. OH SH*T!!!! I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! It’s the Big Bang Theory cast in their New Years Costumes!: Not DC but DC, Popular Mainstream On Going Series, Six Characters (two at Comic Con, the other four in the box set) SOLVED!
  2. First: yeah, that’s why it’s so amazing Second: you do know when converted to minimate form they’ll be pretty much identical to what Silver Age Comic versions of the characters would look like as minimates right?
  3. FIXED! (he does until Friday did until today, but now...) edit: WHOOPS! Thought the last episode was NEXT week, sorry Costantine, better luck in the DelToro movie!
  4. I hope we can get them in the Black and White (preferably true BLACK AND WHITE like the NECA ones, not greyscale like the other B&W minimates) someday, but even as is those are exciting and excellent!
  5. Is a two pack of Paul Dini AND Timm Bruce in their Batman: the Brave and the Bold costumes?!?!?!
  6. awwww man! Because if we got Dini-Verse (you know, Paul Dini in different outfits) minimates we could have gotten this:
  7. DCC doesn't have unlimited resources, so maybe by farming animated style out and making money on royalties while the focus on current artist styled bust and bomb shells is better then not having a way to get money off animated bust and states at all?I'm more confused why there letting so much DCAU merch out.... If the selects are like current marvel selects it's going to eat their lunch directly, if they're like the current Star Trek selecta it's going to split the DCC market for their animated figures since a lot of people want statues not 'sculpts that are broken up' Craaaaaazy!
  8. GUYS!!! I’VE GOT IT! The license is for Animated Supergirl and ONLY Animated Supergirl! Con-Con 2-pack: Supergirl (S:TAS) and Supergirl (JLU) 4-pack: Supergril (S:TAS, different expression), Supergirl (JLU, different expression), Contamination Suit Supergirl, Galatea (who like Mattel’s will have new pinched head mold) it’s DC... but not really!
  9. So wait... NECA’s 7inch Keaton bothered Mattel so much they got it blocked (but not their 18 inch Keaton the sculpt is scaled down from) because they planned to release a 4 inch Keaton, but you think DST can release 7 inch BvS:DoJ figures? Mattel is without a doubt going to release 4 inch BvS:DoJ figures (and they will be TERRIBLE) so whatever logic you want to use to block NECA’s Keaton is going to block DST’s Batffleck As for Mezco, I’m sure their license is for a clothe goods figure like a Mego (notice they aren’t making Marvel or any of the horror licenses NECA is covering) sometime licenses are divided weirdly like that, like how minimates are “2 inch collectables” because Hasbro has the rights to “2 inch action figures”, so it’s possible after their colossal failure Mattel gave up the DC Mego license (since they want the DC license for DC movie money, and they aren’t going to make BvS:DoJ Megos) and Mezco bought it up, or maybe DC created a new sub-license of “6 inch clothe goods action figures” for them to differentiate from Mattel’s “6 inch plastic action figures” who knows, point is Selects are closer to NECA then to Mezco and Mattel would block them too (and if they couldn’t block them, NECA would probably have grabbed the license since they’ve got a working relationship with making DC movie sculpts already)
  10. I’ve heard legend that Disney actually gave the Frozen/Princess to Hasbro because the House of Mouse just plans to buy Hasbro outright in a few years given they’re already making their Star Wars and Marvel toys and would want that in house (and it would give them control over the Transformers franchise as well which they’re probably not against) and letting your top competitor make an offer to continue selling one of your top selling products when you get just take it makes no sense (they learned their lesson from the Marvel CU!) If this legend pans out it would also explain why the branch of Hasbro that used to run HUB pulled it’s bid to buy Dreamworks, if Hasbro top brass knows Disney’s going to buy them out they probably don’t want anyone calling their buying one of Disney’s ‘competitors’ into suspicion and holding up a buy out. plus Disney themselves dropped the ball as well, because no one expected Frozen to be as huge as it was, Disney Store items were also in short supply and high demand, the article linked to also makes no mention of Mattel’s failing being why the license was pulled.
  11. New Four Horsemen Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fourhorsemen/mythic-legions-action-figures-by-four-horsemen-stu It’s got 6inch Dwarves, Knights, and Skeletons (and if stretch goals are met Orcs and Barbarians)
  12. you misunderstand my tone: I legit love this guess thread, I will be sad because NOTHING announced will be as fun as trying to make guess fit the clues, and God of War *WAS* a real guess (I could use a better articulated 7 inch Kratos now that NECA’s finally releasing Dante) this thread is awesome (I’ve been trying to find a gif of JJ Abraham’s Trek Scotty saying “I like this thread it’s exciting” but can only find one where he says “ship” I know that’s the real quote, but I feel people are to use that gif when it’s about ‘shipping’ so it doesn’t fit here.)
  13. I want to take the time to say, this thread is g*ddamn amazing... I’m actually going to sad when we find out what it because crazy ass guesses and watching people sleuthing is waaaaaaaaaaaay more fun than waiting 6 months for announced product to his my BBTS Loot Pile. OH!!! How about God Of War?! -Active: Another game is rumored to be in development, and Kratos is always showing up as a guest character somewhere (maybe in new MK even? Was he invited back?) -Sort of DC: DC put out a comic a while ago -Big Announcement: Kratos is pretty much Sony’s mascot -Selects: DCC tried to do GoW3 figures but failed, NECA has said they had issues with working with Sony so didn’t want to try again... seems like the rights could be open -Blind bags: sell the box set figures in bags at Gamestop -ComicCon 2-pack: Olive skin Kratos, His wife who’s name escapes me, Snarf-style Calliope -Box Sets: Different costumed Kratos anchors each set, paired with a different major God, two monsters did I just guess it?!
  14. You forgot “Also getting Selects”, so you have to rule out: -Arrow/the Flash (DCC is making Select scale figures) -DCCU (Mattel won’t allow it, and yes, they’re still in play) -Vertigo/DC in general (DCC isn’t going to let DST eat it’s lunch when they make select scaled figures) So it’s Gotham or Batman 66 (I don’t think “Injustice” is “active” given those assholes haven’t updated Mobile-to-Console data sharing so I can unlock my Arkham Harley skin in at least 5 months, would be weird to not update an “active” game) I also think you’re putting too much emphasis on blind bags meaning it would need to be a HUGE line. We’ve seen two waves of TMNT blind bags, all of which were also in 2-packs meaning “box sets and blind bags” doesn’t mean “12 different characters a wave” it means “you can buy ‘em blind, you can buy a set, whatever!”... Also despite 3 sets of blind bags and 1 set of 2-packs having been revealed we’ve only gotten 12 unique characters for TMNT, so something with a small east like Batman ’66 could easily fill box sets AND blind bags (just given Batman different gadgets and expressions, DONE!) and if you need reviews to be mainstream, Batman ’66 is collected into trades: http://www.amazon.com/Batman-66-Vol-Jeff-Parker/dp/1401249310/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1423683555&sr=1-1&keywords=batman+66 (four and half stars, nice! I should read that even if we don’t get minimates!)
  15. BUT DC DIRECT IS ALREADY MAKING 7INCH ARROW/FLASH FIGURES!!!!
  16. How is having a short not “active”, the success of Frozen took Disney by surprise so a short was all they could produce to meet demand without crapping out a rushed sequel, do we consider Spider-man an “inactive” movie franchise because his next role is a cameo in Captain America 3 and the plans for his next solo movie are being hammered out? If we do, fine, Frozen’s an inactive *film* franchise, but to say the only activity of Frozen in motion media is the upcoming short is ignoring Once Upon A Time, which again has a Frozen centered story arc for it’s current (on Winter break, but still current) season. BHM’s RIGHT!!! IT’S ARKHAMVERSE BATMAN!!!!!!!! (Elsa’s dad is voiced by the great Maurice LeMarsh, whom we already have in minimate form in RGB Egon, Maurice is also of course Arkham Mr.Freeze... do doo do dooooo *little star flies by*)
  17. Now I still think Mattel is the problem there. Yes, they’re not *currently* making 6inch figures and have NEVER made 7inch figures, but NECA’s Keaton Batman had to be a Blu-ray pack-in last month (okay, late December) because of Mattel’s hold on the license. Even if they don’t make 6inch BvS:DoJ figures, they’re not going to let another company scoop up the rights because they don’t want someone making money THEY could have made. They CLEARLY have no intentions of releasing a 6inch Keaton Batman but kept NECA from releasing a 7inch one. Plus, if Mattel did decide to let the BvS:DoJ license (they won’t) NECA would probably grab it first. Someone at Warner Brothers clearly likes their work since they let them get a one-time work around to release a NES Batman and then did a loophole jump to get it released in normal colors (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming 18inch Reeves Superman gets a similar ‘okay you can make a small one just ONE TIME as NES figure... now repaint it as a DVD bonus!’ treatment)... if the 7inch license was free, even if just for older style statue figures, they’d probably offer it to NECA first and NECA would be crazy to turn it down.
  18. Implication that Firefly is neither active, nor mainstream. If "active" were to equate with property with currently available merchandise, then we wouldn't have this: http://qmxonline.com/products/malcolm-reynolds-1-6-scale-articulated-figure Firstly, Firefly was never “mainstream” or Netflix would listen to people rallying for new episodes and “Serenity” might have been a successful movie franchise... Firefly is straight up “cult” Secondly, being “cult” any product it’s getting isn’t part of marketing push by FOX to keep making money off the public’s love of the franchise, it’s small companies making niche figures for the cult followers. Frozen and Batman are mainstream because real companies make products for them, I’ve never heard of QMX I’ve heard of Hasbro and Mattel. Yes, Funko is making figures, but given NECA has refused demands for years and Funko’s has also made Legacy figures for “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, “Magic:The Gathering" and “Book of Life” at least two of which were flops (I don’t know how Mr.Fox sold, but BoL and M:TG... not well) I think it’s safe to they’re going for “hey you know what would be neat” or “well personally I want...” and not “hey you know what would appeal to the largest group of people to maximize sales” Plus, ignoring merchandising: Batman 66 has an on going comic. Frozen has characters on OUAT and a new short coming out in a couple months, Firefly has nothing.... so even on that most basic of “active franchise” both are still in play.
  19. Just to keep fanning the hope it’s Batman 66. There actually IS an on going Batman ’66 comic right now. Not sure if it counts as “mainstream” though since it is on-line only (although maybe Zach meant “mainstream” in that it’s f**king Batman, not mainstream in that this particular on-going series is taking the world by storm) Also, I *would* consider Frozen on-going as a media property. I saw a box of ‘Frozen the Cereal’ at the store today and I would certainly hope that’s new, I don’t want to think there’s year old cereal sitting around an otherwise clean and tidy store, and Target is absolutely lousy with Frozen Valentines Day merch, for a movie about familial love over romantic love they sure did jump all over slapping Elsa and Anna on heart shape boxes of cheap chocolates... Also when Disney ‘retires’ a property but wants to keep selling merch for it the Princess gets folded into the “Disney Princess” line, Anna and Elsa still get merch under the “Frozen” banner (even the Lego Ice Castle, which is sold under the “Princess” line has a “Frozen” logo on, if you could find one in stores compare it to the other Princess sets and note the lack of “Aladdin” or “Tangled” logos) Plus the characters from Frozen are still very active in “Once Upon A Time” (and unlike most Disney characters in OUAT Elsa and Anna constantly refer directly to the movie they come from and make it very clear they are the actual Disney Elsa and Anna not OUAT reimaginations of Elsa and Anna even if future Frozen sequels will null OUAT cannon for them) and Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Cinderella movie has a Frozen short in front of it where in Elsa and Kristof plan a birthday party for Anna (with a song by the original composers! so sorry parents, there’s a new thing for your toddler to bellow out for 7 months) so yeah... the movies old but Frozen is still a very active franchise.
  20. OH F**K!!! Zack does keep saying “we’re working on some TV minimates” all the time too.... THIS IS COMING TOGETHER TOO WELL!!! QUICK! Someone make up an alternate theory as to what this all means before my heartbreaks in half... straight up IN HALF! from the sadness not getting Batman 66 mates yet again would cause. alternate idea: it’s Arrow/Flash/Constantine/Gotham/Teen Titans Go! all the properties Mattel passed on and can be offered to other companies but not snagged up in the Mez-It net yet, pheeeeeeewoooooooo! That sounds likely enough my hopes aren’t high for how amazingly awesome Batman 66 mates could be.
  21. I’d ONLY want Garfield to unmask in Cap3 IF AND ONLY IF at the start of the new solo Spider-man movie Sally Fields is BRUTALLY murdered by a thug hired by Netflix’s Kingpin and Kevin Feige himself shows up dressed as Mephesto (space devil, not Ghost Rider man in suit BS) and offers him a way to do it over, he agrees and wakes up the next morning to find Sally Fields and Emma Stone in the kitchen eating wheat cakes like they didn’t die horrible tragic deaths and he’s like “whaaaaaaaaa?!” and picks up a news paper to see the headline “Amazing Spider-man 2 never happened! Also Spider-man Still A Menace!” ... but since Sony themselves were planning to recast Spider-man in either Sinister Six (now canceled!) or if he didn’t appear in that then in Amazing 3 it seems likely he’ll be a new actor in Cap 3. I’m still saying Jay Baruchel until someone (probably Marvel) throws out a better idea.
  22. Here’s all I want to know: -Can we get JK Simmons back as JJ?! He goddamned defined the character and would be amazing in the MCU, could you imagine a scene where he tries to interview Stark! -Can it NOT be an origin story?! We get it, radioactive spider bite, dead uncle, great responsibility, blah blah... just start with him as Spider-man and gets to the good stuff? Maybe play Weird Al’s “Ode to the Superhero” to catch anyone who’s too slow up to speed -Who’s gonna play Peter?! It has to be someone who can act against Robert Downey Jr and not be destroyed by him... I’m gonna say: Jay Baruchel! Okay, first ideas been tossed out, someone top that!
