  1. He’s up for pre-order now at BBTS http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN16475&mode=retail
  2. The DaTong is noticeably lesser in quality, it’s not a ‘bad’ product, it’s just lesser in most regards. (I would almost say it’s like an early ToyBiz Marvel Legend in terms of plastic and paint.) However both Vegetas (and a flight stand hilariously called an ‘ACTION BISE’) only cost me $65 where one official DBZ Figuart cost me $42, so the $10 price difference softens the drop in quality to where I’m still happy with what I got and I’d probably get a DaTong Cell if Bandai doesn’t announce a recolor first. So yeah, looks plasticier, it feels cheaper... but it cost less so, and as long as it cost $30 or less it’s a viable alternative to the official product, anything over $35 and just get the recolor SS Vegeta this fall.
  3. I got my DaTong Vegeta’s today: and They’re both very good bootlegs, they stand very nicely, but they're a little heavy on the ‘spray tan’ Official Tuxedo Mask though is super awesome.
  4. Anime Color Goku (the same as the Mexico exclusive) Also, how is no one mentioning Tuxedo Mask is out now and he’s fantastic.
  5. I got my set from BBTS today, aside from some paint issues this is one the nicest sets I’ve gotten in a while what with it being 6 new characters I actually wanted. ... if any one wants Destiny and Jubilee (with only her glasses down hair, I’m keeping the glasses up one) let me know before I huck them into the parts bin.
  6. Is that a good brand or are you being sarcastic? That stuff is pretty cheap.I personally don’t like it (but I had no clue I was using MSP paint not Vallejo until my wife pointed it out to me, so what do I know) but every bottle behind BroBot’s Joker was AppleBarrel so it’s either a VERY elaborate ruse or he’s serious.
  7. As someone who’s also tired of ‘uncle jokes’ making up 90% of the post on this board, let me try to help: Vallejo is an excellent paint, the colors are vibrant and it applies well to minimize plastic, it’s more expensive but I would recommend it... Don’t use Citadel, it smells bad and has a mud like feel to it, plus the dumb little jars make it hard to mix colors (can’t easily pour a small dob out, paint can get stuck in the lid and dry out your paint faster.) I would avoid paints from Michael’s or JoAnn’s as I find they tend to fade over time (although, I do find their metallics superior to Vallejo’s so maybe there’s some merit I haven’t found to those paints.) Finally, I always thought Kraven’s hair piece would make a good Joker hair, but I prefer the Kia Asamiya design so that might be why. EDIT: My wife pointed out that all the paint in our paint bin isn’t Vallejo, the majority of it is MSP (Master Series Paint) made by Reaper and sold at most D&D stores. She prefers it for painting gaming miniatures.
  8. So is this pronounced “Vinnie-Mates” or “Viney-Mates”?
  9. Hate to burst your bubble pal, but Doof's bot is a two letters short to be NormAN.Is Norm not short for Norman anymore?
  10. Maybe the Krang are fans of Phineas and Ferb (because why wouldn’t they be) and decided to name their suit-bots after Doofenshmirtz’s robot.
  11. I got mine today... it’s not bad. If anyone’s wondering how the value break down is: -The Hulkbuster is fantastic as is expected, since the 6inch pops run $15 I’ll count that as the value of this. -The “premium accessories” are a pin (with Cap on it) and an iron on badge (with Ultron on it) they give crap like this out as ‘freemiums’ with DVD’s or swag at cons, so I’m gonna count there worth as “nothing” (although I’m sure Funko would claim they’re $3-5 items if you bought them.) -There’s an exclusive Ultron DORBZ, which was unexpected, he’s not to my liking, but Dorbz retail for $9 -There’s an Avengers-Guardians team-up comic, it wasn’t listed on the “here’s what you get” list, but it’s there... the internet says it cost $4, so it’s $4 -Finally there’s a T-shirt, Mine is Thor Vs Ultron, the one in PixelDan’s review is Hulk Vs Ultron, I assume the other two designs are Iron Man and Cap Vs Ultron... it’s not a very high quality shirt, line art on a basic grey T-shirt. The tag says it’s made by “Flophouse” (which made me think of “Flophouse Podcast” which is awesome) so looking at their web-site they sell their shirts for $28 (HA!) but this is a $15 shirt... I will say, the design is nice (but that’s because I think Thor is goofy). I probably will wear it to see AoU if my wife doesn’t steal it first. So total value: What I feel it’s worth: $43 What Funko would probably argue it’s worth: $55 Since I have no interest in Ant-Man I won’t be getting the next box, but this one wasn’t bad.
  12. Nope Wave 62 is out right now, people who want the figures now will buy them now and not wait to see who's in this mystery 10 pack. The movie will have come out and causal fans would have picked up a 2 pack or two before this 10 pack is announced as well The only Core characters in wave 63 come with either Claw or Hulkbuster (forgot who comes with regular Hulk) OR an army builder so most people will buy them even after the 10 pack is announced plus the 10 pack isn't about getting the characters, it's about having them in one nice window box (personally I want it to be the 10 avengers just because that would look really nice with the armory set)
  13. I didn’t say “comic versions of the movie Avengers” I said “movie Avengers” Not “a new set of 10 characters” but a set EXACTLY like the Iron Man 3 10-pack, a bunch of reissues with minor changes and one new character
  14. Could it just be the Movie Avengers? 1-Iron Man 2-Cap 3-Thor 4-Hulk 5-Black Widow 6-Hawkeye 7-Nick Fury (exclusive) 8-Scarlet Witch 9-Quicksilver 10-Vison
  15. So I know this is a MARVEL Select thread, but I didn’t see a generic Diamond Select thread to post this in: http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/97762/exclusive-early-look-at-diamond-selects-universal-monsters-mummy-and-wolfman-version-2-action-figures/ I’m so f**king psyched for that Mummy and Lucy! dumb personal aside, I’m trying to obtain a figure in Select scale that corresponds to the core cast of Monster High... so far I have Frankenstein, Gilman, and Dracula, Jean St.Jean is releasing a Yeti and Werewolf (which I personally prefer to Wolfman, although DST’s Wolfman is pretty great looking) later this year, and now DST is releasing a Mummy.. I just need a zombie, is there a Select scale civilian Zombie I don’t know about? I know there’s the Marvel Zombies, but those are too ‘spandex’ to mesh with the other figures, maybe I just keep holding out hope Jean makes a zombie in a future creatureplica wave, or maybe one of the next original DST Monster characters is a zombie, or maybe even hold out hope for Zombie Kingpin? It’s unfortunate the best zombies are 5 inch scale or smaller with most being minimates.
  16. I got Android 16, I don’t really care about the Androids, but I needed him for one reason: He makes a sweet, sweet Guy Gardener figure
  17. I was thinking of getting either a MotUC Standor (to represent ‘the creator’) or a NECA Simpsons Stan Lee (to represent ‘the man’) and putting it among my minimates. As a minimate he’d blend into the crowd and become ‘old man next to Spider-man', but as a larger figure he’d have the appropriate larger then life look his persona demands.
  18. Did your 8 year old nephew draw this strip so you take this all as a personal offense? I understand it's your job to sell the product but this Neitlichian level of over exaggeration doesn't put the best face forward The comic is badly drawn, if the option is that or nothing, nothing isn't such a bad option... You could have at least made the insert smaller and put the digital download code on the inside instead of naked to the world on the back of the box where anyone can get the comics for FREE (not free with purchase, just free) by snapping a photo of the web address and code
  19. Let’s be honest, that’s what we have here. They’re “block figure” style, but not minimates.
  20. No, I mean “what is this?!” in “what is the meaning behind this shoddy art?!” It’s like it couldn’t decide if it was going to be realistic or minimates and decided to just split the difference and be the worst aspects of both.
  21. It’s hard to photograph because it’s a long glossy strip so here’s the “best” page I could photograph: What is this?!
  22. So I got my set from TRU.com, the mates are terrific (I have no clue who they are, but a vampire-looking Punisher called “Bloodshot” is just too fun not to own) But WHAT. THE. HELL. is wrong with the little comic it comes with? Why are the drawings so off model?!
  23. Use 'Ninja Turtles Forever' logic. Current cartoon is always the 616 of turtles, 80's is the golden age versions they will met in time/space hoping adventure, Mirage is universe Prime, all other cannons are shown in portals as 'other worlds' most of their contributions (Venus, Cyborg-Don) lost to time, others (Razhar) might be worked into the new cannon with no regard for original
  24. that seemed largely unneeded since this thread is not about the comics and hitting enter five times hardly hides a major spoiler for someone who might want to read that comic AND an unrelated thread about toys from the TV show. (I mean, am I the ONLY person who reads threads backwards sometimes? Starting from the newest until I get to the last post I read? Guess what isn’t hidden when you scroll up instead of down... THAT SPOILER!) Also, maybe don’t post a spoiler if you don’t know how to use spoiler tags
  25. Since when are twins two years a part in age?
