  1. Is Havok's Torso reversable? Or is that just his costume? 'Cuz it looks like one side is him using his power and the other is just the regular costume.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I'll admit I know very little about the character or his costume variations.

yeah, thats it exactly. here's his costume

  2. ... It seems rather than look for a way to increase profitability on something already profitable, they (DCD) are passing the buck to the retailers (in order to make them the scape goats). Their version of enough can be shifted and they can claim that they, shucks, really wanted to continue the line. REALLY. But darn it, there just wasn't enough interest by retailers....

Hit the nail on the head, methinks.

i'd say the "Rest" that DCD is giving the line is the eternal rest, the big sleep etc... they know they have no intention of bringing this line back later. just setting up fall guys(retailers) to take the heat, so that the fans/consumers won't hold a grudge and not buy any future DCD offerings(Infinate justice). also did they forget WE are the consumers, They should be trying to please us, trying to separate us from our hard earned money, We shouldn't be put upon to hit up the retailers for more orders or buy multiples or product we don't like just to have a line continue. they should be trying to please us not the other way around. oh and we send a message to the retailers every time we purchase or dont purchase a product from them, guess the message ill be sending is NO MORE DCD PRODUCTS FOR ME THANKS!

  3. an observation i'd like to make is that from what i've seen at retail the obscure characters donot sell. casual minimate buyers want superman, batman, wonderwoman and flash with so many DC figures of all different scales/lines these people will never buy omac or deadman type characters in minimate form. that said the REAL consumer of mates want the complete opposite, we have our batman, superman and MARTIAN MANHUNTER you do us a disservice re-releasing new versions of these characters when there are so many other characters we would love to have. so the question therefore is do you want to sell to casual/retail buyers who will MAYBE buy the big three or four characters one time or do you cater to the (perceived) smaller group of collectors whom will purchase most if not all( if you stop producing rehashed characters) mates offered in every wave? this is not a new concept/problem and has claimed the existence of many toy lines. it seems clear to me( and it could be i'm biased being a collector) but the only way to have a long running diverse line is to cater to the collector market and maybe that means only selling through online retailers who have less overhead, if you really want to have retail presence produce a boxset of the big name characters that retailers can reorder to always have in stock(much like trade paperbacks), but only offer the waves to the collector market. any converts from casual buyer to collector will track down the waves and any older mates they have missed if they want them. just my $.02

  4. ... I'll buy them if they sell them, but at the same time, I've never been a DC person, so I won't be devastated if they call it a day. I liked how DC made a great effort to have a nice variety of characters, but the costume variations of the Big Three have started cropping up, which makes me a little frustrated because I want new characters, not Batman with a different shade of blue, or Superman from that story I didn't read.

My sentiments exactly, i'm Definately a Marvel guy but i do love Batman and a select few other DC characters, that said i have bought every DC mate :P But if they are ready to call it a day, so be it ill buy some other Mates instead.

My condolences to the Dc mate loyals of this board.

  5. Screw 'em (DCD that is) i won't beg them to take my money, still plenty of other fine minimate lines to buy, and i can guarantee that my x number of dollars that would have gone to buying Dc mates will go to some other mates line not some other DC figure line so their loss i guess.

DC is dead, long live Minimates!
