    SDCC 2013: Deadpool Box Set.

    The Deadpool Corps boxset doesn't seem that long ago to me, released in Fall of 2011, so 2 boxsets dedicated to variations of the same character within 2 years has definitely dulled what little interest I had in Deadpool. I'm sure it will sell like crazy though, especially at the show!

    Yeah. I really don't think Deadpool's quite as popular as Marvel seems to think; back when they had him in as many monthly titles as Spider-Man a few years ago they were all selling in the 30k range, which is not good for a character supporting multiple titles. But obviously DST wouldn't have made this set if the original Deadpool set didn't sell well for them.

    All my casual or non comic reading super hero loving friends LOVE Deadpool. His current book outsells Thor and Iron Man most months and his video game should only increase his appeal. My man Wade is on the way up and really the only big name character to gain popularity in the mainstream and maintain a monthly book since Wolverine.

    You know what would have made this set like 1000% better? Doctor Bong.

    Just sayin'. Missed opportunity.

    We need a Deadpool supporting cast set: Dr Bong, Weasel, T-Ray and BOB!!!!!

    I told you guys the Marvel set was a 180 from Alpha Flight.

    I just hope AFX has better in store. I don't care about LiS and that other civie two-pack. WD is nice but i'm not too crazy about it. The wolvie set is awesome but we already knew about that.

    But seriously, I expect all of these sets to do very well. Wish I'd been the one to reveal them... wolverine.gif

    So, how did BC getting to reveal them come about? Can we assume it wasn't supposed to happen that way?

    I two wonder how Rich gets certain listings and charts early from Diamond/Previews. I'm assuming he had an inside source or at least some access to hidden pages on the previews web site.

    While I respect Rich's determination to gather rumors and scoops. I'm not happy at the implication here that these were not yet ready to be announced and that Bleeding Cool did not come by these in the "proper" fashion.

    I feel somewhat bad for sharing these on the board as Zach clearly was excited to share these with us. I had assumed every site would be getitng the news this weekend and just wanted to share the link here since I saw no one had linked to it yet.

    Things like this is why I know for my website I've pretty much stuck to press releases for product news as I prefer to have good relationships with the companies than gathering "hits" to my site.

    Got these yesterday at TRU which was odd since I was there Saturday and they weren't out yet. I know they get there truck on Tuesdays so why they waited until Sunda to put them out is beyonfd me. good thing I have a 6 month old who always gives me a good excuse to stop by.
