  1. So Paul Ellering will get Rocco the puppet! Awesome.
  2. Would prefer figures from the original NES game, but I'll probably buy!
  3. About an hour ago I caught a second Mewtwo, but he was a real bitch to get. I only got 10 balls (thankfully the blue team is pretty popular and tends to have most members of raids, or I would have been really screwed), and caught him on the very last throw, which was a terrible throw. I got about 6 great curveballs in, a couple of bad throws, and one miss when the connection got jittery at an inopportune time. Golden raspberries with each throw, of course. They don't make it easy. It's not like you can get a lot of practice perfecting excellent throws with this guy.
  4. Wow. 4 Excellent curveballs! Sorry to hear about that. I accidentally spent a golden raspberry on a damn Bulbasaur yesterday But I did catch him!
  5. I would not vote for him at this point. The evidence I've heard of has seemed pretty troubling.
  6. Yeah, a group of 21 actually met when I got there to fight this guy. So all the blue team went together, and red and yellow fought him in a private group. But most of the other guys there were groups of friends who seem to do this all the time. This was only my second group raid attempt. My first was a Magikarp down the road from my house with 2 other guys I'm thrilled that I was actually able to capture him. I was down to my last two balls. You need Great to Excellent throws with golden Raspberries to even have a chance.
  7. My opinions of how women should, and shouldn't be treated/represented has changed significantly over the years. I was never what I would consider misogynistic or anything, but I am much more empathetic now than I used to be. I think back to the Clinton/Lewinsky issue, and at the time, I thought it was pretty crazy that we would consider impeaching a president of the U.S. over something as inconsequential as having illicit sex with someone. Now I realize what a massive abuse of power that was, and what the emotional/psychological impact must have been on a young, impressionable female, and my opinion shifts. Our leaders should be above that. Godfather is a similar issue. It's not a moralistic judgment. But no woman becomes a prostitute out of real choice. It's got to be a soul deadening experience, and is dangerous in countless ways. To trivialize that for comedy isn't something I could as easily abide nowadays. . . Fortunately, some other things in 'rasslin stand the test of time much better! Exhibit A:
  8. If it's an updated Firestar, then you've got another customer right here. << One of the cartoons I'm most nostalgic about from childhood is "A Firestar is Born" from Spiderman and His Amazing Friends. Also, I'm 100% in for a cartoon accurate Iceman!
  9. He's got a 60,000+ CP when fighting him, which seems insane. I've actually never gone after any of the big fish in a raid, but gotta finish out my Kanto region Pokedex. Supposedly you can catch him with 6-8 reasonably powerful "trainers." There are 3 different Facebook pages all geared toward helping people play this game in my area, which helps a lot. It must be damn near impossible for people in rural areas to go after powerful Pokemon in raids.
  10. Love those facial expressions! They are perfect. You know who gave Hulk Hogan his very first WWE match at Madison Square Garden? They had quite a role reversal a decade later. I posted this on Facebook, but Patch Wolvie with some white pants gives you a great way to use that alternate sculpt:
  11. Recently I was watching some Mid-South wrestling, and didn't realize that Hacksaw and Ted Dibiase had a stable (with the future Doink the Clown Matt Borne), and then developed one of the most intense feuds in the territory. It culminated in the most logical way. . .a steel cage, coal miner's glove on a pole match where both competitors wore tuxedos.
  12. It seems that when you get a Pokemon through an event like this, even minor ones like the ones you do for stamps, they are never all that powerful. I was held up on the Celebii "participate in a raid" task for the longest time, because my schedule makes it really damn hard to do anything during the day when those go on. But I finally did it yesterday, and now I've got my eyes on the prize. Anyone catch a Mewtew yet since they started popping from raid eggs? I'm going to have to take time out of my work to do it, but thankfully should have an advantage as there is a Facebook page for LSU (where I work) raids, and on Friday morning there was one with at least 10 people.
  13. I either didn't know about that, or didn't remember it. But that is funny as a last way to go out. Godfather is really offensive, but at the time I didn't think much of it. In comparison to some of the other Attitude Era stuff, it could actually be a lot sleazier! . . .he's in the WWE Hall of Fame. . .Big Van Vader and the British Bulldogs can't make it, but Godfather can.
  14. Easy to imagine his pitch (I cannot recommend the Something to Wrestle With podcast more strongly, by the way).
  15. 3Zero is known for having overly large feet on their figures. And their hands sometimes look like they are carved from wood. Possibly a holdover from their close relationship with a company called 3A, which in terms of artistic sensibility is like the Kubricks of the 1/6 scale collecting world (a bit funny since Medicom puts out 1/6 scale figures itself, but is usually pretty conventional about it). Here is an typical example of what a 3A 1/6 scale figure looks like: https://www.ultimatetoys.com.sg/product/marvel-invincible-iron-man-classic-ashley-wood-16-figure-threea-3a-comics-new/
  16. I can help with getting them from the Matty site if you need it, BHM. Mulder has a pretty good sculpt. . .possibly better than 3Zero's version.
  17. The burning question--was that a McMahon idea, or a Vince Russo idea? Often you can tell, but there. . .could go either way.
  18. Stephanie McMahon? . I don't think Jericho could get away with stuff he said 15 years ago in today's more PC climate.
  19. I imagined dozens of knowing nods of agreement reading my post I've actually been planning to list a sizable chunk (75% or so) of my collection for sale for. . maybe 3 years now? Cannot get motivated to do it. Or maybe my subconscious refuses to let me!
