I love Minimates because there ain't no shelf like a Minimates shelf. Cause a Minimates shelf don't stop. Hopefully ever. #600wavesandasquirrelgirl

Deadly Foes Of Spider-Man-Box Set - Luke's Toy Store Exclusive!
battlecat replied to Kostisfire's topic in Marvel Minimates
Lizzie does look a bit better in the con photos, but still kinda like a guy in a theme park costume or something. Not sure why they didn't just go with an alternate head so it could be smaller, we seem to get more of those than slipovers these days. Rest of the set looks amazing though, three characters I didn't really think needed updates until I saw them, I've done a complete 180 and already have my order in.- 881 replies

Jones the cat! Love it! Thanks for the pics! Shredder looks cool, are they holding back the turtles for the panel or something? -
Well, I wanted her because that's the one new costume I actually liked, and one of the few characters I think they really captured properly in the modern day films (and I disagree it's a bad likeness). I don't think it's that weird to want a 'plain' character you like over a more detailed one you don't, but oh well, I'll live. I'll probably grab a Mystique though, she turned out great.

Is there any chance the alternate Luke Cage head does not have a hole in the top? They look great. In the Toy Fair display there was an alternate non-shades head that had no hole, hopefully that will make the cut.

I like the comic, just don't dig those costumes at all. Glad some people are enthusiastic about these though, they do look well done. I hardly buy any moviemates, so four movie waves and now the first comic wave I've skipped entirely since wave 2 I think, it kind of feels like slim pickings this year, but hopefully we'll still see some great box sets to get me feeling excited about the line again.

I don't even like the new Spider-Man movies, and I've been trying for years to stay out of 1/6, but this might be my first...

I own all of three DC Minimates, but I would buy the smurf out of a Batman/Batman Returns line. LEGO made that Keaton-style minifig a while back and I love it.

My Astonishing X-Men Emma Frost has...a problem.
battlecat replied to WinterSoldier's topic in Marvel Minimates
Yeah, my Emma's a goner too, and I mentioned recently in another thread that I had this happen to my blue suit Xavier too, although I guess that was more of a "greening" than yellowing. Seems like plastics and paints can just to react to all kinds of things -- exposure to sunlight, being completely sealed like Turtle mentioned, heat or humidity, or just the material of the container they're stored in. -
That's true, it'll probably be a PG-13... Bummer about Rogue, her costume/look was the only one I actually dug from those 500 magazine covers a while back. Now I'm really only looking forward to the chair.

We're getting a similar Hawkeye (same outfit but darker colours) in the upcoming 'Best Of' wave 2. Edit: Oh wait, Best Of wave 3 I mean...

Yup, there's one over here...

Nice, out of that list I'm hoping the most for Quire and NOW Cyke. A new Mystique and Kitty wouldn't hurt though. Oh and gimme a Doop or Kid Gladiator while you're at it

Forgot to update my list last summer, three more down! 1. Hellcat 2. Wolfsbane ('90s X-Factor) 3. NOW! Cyclops 4. NOW! Captain Marvel 5. Mockingbird (modern or classic, preferably both!) 6. Dr. Nemesis (original costume) 7. Cardiac 8. modern Rogue (scarf costume or NOW!) 9. Man-Thing 10. Squirrel Girl Wolvie: Weapon X with helmet/wires Spidey: bulletproof Big Time costume Iron Man: Fraction Tron armor or 2020 Army builder: Warwolves Theme wave: Hickman FF or 2099

How about that you disagree? That's fine. I did say "I thought" in front of that, so it probably shouldn't bother you too much.

I think the face on the right might work fine with some longer hair, haven't checked but I doubt the female 88s wear lipstick. Or maybe we'll get a specifically-female alternate head in the set.

Cars 2 came from Lasseter, the same director as the first one (and Toy Story 1 & 2), and he claims the production was story-driven (he was doing a huge global promo tour for Cars and thought the characters would be fun in those settings). The end result still sucked though. Planes was made by Disney Animation, not Pixar. And Wings was a terrible sitcom with that guy that played Sandman in Spider-Man 3. I thought the Toy Story sequels were okay, but didn't have anything much to say that the original hadn't already covered, and better. Pixar is so great at new ideas, so generally this move into more and more sequels instead bums me out, I wish they'd just stick to shorts if they want to revisit characters. Saying that, I did actually like Monsters U more than Inc.

I'd switch out Spawn Nightwatch for '90s Firestar, but yes please. Definitely a good way to get a Deathlok out. I would buy another plain Spidey and Goblin if it got us Gwen, MJ and Harry in a Night Gwen Stacy Died wave. And maybe the Goblin could have an alt chest block that the glider plugged into (along with an "oops" expression)... One I'd love to see is a Hickman Fantastic Four/FF wave, that was the best run on that book in years and had so many possibilities for great mates -- powered-down Sue, FF Doom, Spidey's DIY costume, Negative Zone Johnny (with pet Annihilus), Nathaniel Richards, Dragon Man, The Wizard, High Evolutionary, Medusa, Crystal and Ronan, Gladiator, Uatu, the Celestials, Namor in his X-Men costume, adult Franklin and Valeria, some new beekeeper army builders from AIM Island, etc etc.
