  1. I think Quicksilver needs a re-release as bad as any figure yet, though. The existing one, well, he sucks. I would be happy to see another version coming, preferably in green costume.

However, the fact that these two were: a) released previously, and b ) were released together the first time, makes it an unlikely choice for a 2-pack.

I agree. and it really wasnt all that long ago that they were released, time wise at least.

Colossus and Illyana could also be a possibility. I know people have been clamoring for a new one of him and she would open up the door for the New Mutants.

  2. although I think it is probably northstar and aurora, I would love it if the brother/sister duo were Vanguard and Darkstar. With Titanium Man being made, it isn't too far away to get a whole crew of the Soviet Super-soldiers. We would just need Gremlin and Ursa Major (imagine what all you customisers could do with a bear-body minimate before the battle beasts come out.)

  3. Is anyone out there playing Dissidia? I want to get it because I am a big Final Fantasy fan, but I dont need another fighting game that is just about punching in the same moves to win. I play Tekken for that. I used to own Ehrgeiz but it was pretty boring, and I dont have someone else around to play with.

Is it worth my time if I am only going to play alone?

  4. A Swordman/Songbird pack would be the cat's pajamas though (am I using that metaphor correctly?)

You are using that correctly...or cat's meow.

I have a friend from ireland who says, "thats the dogs bollocks."

And to keep on topic, i think Banshee and Mockingbird would be perfect.

  5. I have actually been thinking about this a lot lately.

I think we need to see the Falcon. He could come with a Cap America themed set, and if they work his wings right, they would have a mold for those (one or two) people who are desperate for a Stingray.

  6. wankers!! thats what you all are!! ;)

i'm not saying it should be fair...but seriously...how long have vehicles been asked for? and something as simple as a goblin glider?

i know some folks here collect SS (fitting initials, seeing how they have overrun the miniature figure world) but as soon as i saw that cycle i called shenanigans.

  7. I still want to know why Superhero Squad can give Ghost Rider a bike but the Minimates cant...

Different companies hold different aspects of the Marvel license. DST's license allows for figures under 2.5" in height and no playsets or vehicles. Hasbro apparently can make vehicles for their lines.

and that is my issue with it...Superhero Squad came out after Minimates, and my understanding from what has been said about the license in the past is that they didnt want the vehicles for the Minimates conflicting with the vehicles from Toybiz.

Now that Toybiz isnt really an issue, another company (granted, one of, if not the largest toy company in the US) has stepped in with their own line of 2" figures and is able to do all the things that AA and now DST are not.

I just think it seems like a raw deal.

  8. Am I the only one that thinks the Capt Britain looks off? ]

It might be the angle but the face looks too narrow and squished?

Otherwise nice waves, some I like/want some I'm not so worried about!

    T.

i am with you...i think it is the cheekbone detailing, making him look like his lips are pursed, or he just took a big bite of lemon. didnt you make a custom of him with a slip over mask, but with the mouthpart cut out? whoever made that one, that would have been a better way to go.

And I dont think the kree soldier has a molded nose...i think it is just the lines and angle of the picture make it seem so.

  9. If anybody on one of these trips finds a Union Jack/Wonder Man set, I've got paypal and am glad to fork over the funds for one.

Actually, for anybody still looking, at my last check, my local TRU had three union jacks still in stock. If there is anyone who wants me to pick them up for them, let me know. And I won't rape you on shipping.

  10. I swung through a TRU in Salt Lake during lunch and still nothing new.. A few Wolverine Movie mates and some Terminator ones.. :( They usually get their shipments in on Fridays so I thought it was worth a shot.

Too bad sounds like the bullseye Moonstone packs may be very limited. Oh well, I'm just antsy for something new. It's kind of funny, this year has more minis coming and going than any other since I have begun collecting.. and instead of feeling like its too much.. it's making me less patient on release dates.. haha

    oh well.. its FRIDAY :buttrock:

    :starwars: happy weekend everyone!

i moved to boise, but i found a lot more success at the west valley tru and the provo one. for some reason it seems like no one in provo buys these. i got all the wm/uj and silver fox ones at provo. the sugar house tru is one of the worst stocked stores in existence so i rarely even bothered.

  11. Admittedly, I don't know shit about the Mangaverse (except that it sounds incredibly retarded), but I also, personally, don't give the Ultimates any more legitimacy than any given "What If?" issue. They are fun to read, but they aren't "real" Marvel comics continuity to me (note: I don't think that anything in this crap-tastic Quesada era is "real" Marvel, either--I'm just waiting for some reasonable editor to take over and make all of it a fever dream by Peter Parker or something). Related to that, was there not a "what if Pepper Potts created the Iron Man armor?" issue at some point? That seems like a pretty typical "What If" issue.

Although the "What if...?" stories have really sucked since the first volume (70's and 80's) I really really recommend the ones from that first volume. Stories like "What if Phoenix had lived?" "What if Loki found the hammer of Thor?" "What if the Fantastic Four hadn't gained their powers?" and my personal favorite and easily one of the best tragic stories of all time, "What if Dr. Doom had become a hero?" are really some great reads, especially if you like stories that end on a downer like Thomas Hardy's stuff.

  12. Does it look to everyone else like the iron man armors in wave 21 are actually "armors?" that you can put the pieces around the figures like dressing them? For those who do customs, I would think that would be a dream come true, to be able to put any random figure into a piece of armor...

if youre a uk fan, please place the appropriate "u" in every mention of armor...

  13. kickass news, when a nearby LCS posted its weekly update i thought it was just that one store that decided to order them. i'll have a much easier time going to the one nearer me.

i'm getting an extra set to customize the namor. if anyone needs the others, let me know, in case i can't find a use for 'em.

i was totally surprised to see these at my lcs, but very happy so i dont have to pay a kajillion dollars on shipping from afx. Pick 'em up...the dr strange and valkyrie figs are totally sweet.

  14. Brain Drain would be excellent, but how to pull that look off?

    Braindrain_01.JPG

Great - now I'm thinking about what it would take to make that. If I scuplted the brain and eyes, then I could use twist-ties to support them and look like nerves & the spinal column. What to use for the dome, though...

i dont make customs, but if i did, i would probably take a translucent minimate head, like from one of the emerald city con promo figures and somehow hollow the sucker out from behind and use that. as i write and think about it, that may not be very practical, but maybe it will give you an idea to piggyback off of.
