  1. That is an excellent point! However, with the Marvel line that has no bearing on the current format. They're are no generic superheroes. We'll continue to just get an extra spidey or wolverine that we already have a dozen of as it is. They For those of you about to shout me down, I say thee, "Wait!" If they did a generic such as a Hydra trooper or a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, AWESOME! They haven't gone that route yet and have shown no sign of doing such. I didn't need an extra Apocalypse. I would have preferred NOT to have done the following to get Scarlet Spider and Hobgoblin. Gone to a stores website to find out that they don't offer it online AND that most of it's brick and mortar locations have closed down. Called said store to see if they had them only to be told by the less than intelligent staff that they don't carry them. Gone to the EXACT store I called and see that they are available and in plain view of the front counter. Scarlet Spider and Hobgoblin in the wave instead of Angel and Dupe Apocalypse is a better idea, in my humble opinion.
  2. But then you have those who don't have access to them at an even BIGGER loss. I think DC has it right with not doing variants and just making more characters per set. DC Way 1. No one "misses out" on the character(s) they love 2. No extra "Variant buddy" (Apocalypse and Hawkeye in last waves) 3. Less leftovers (some people only buy if they can get the whole set) 4. More Characters get made I might add, I DO have access to the Variants and I have them all. It's cool to be able to say that, but for those that can't and want them, it kinda sucks. I work at a shop and I can tell you that, we sell more DC minimates then Marvel. I do believe the variants and lack there of have an effect on it. Sidenote: to those that might say if I didn't take the variants, maybe we'd sell more, well quite frankly they're mine and you can't have them
  3. Ok, so you're familiar with Bricklink, does that mean you're so well versed with legos that you could makes plans so I can feed my sick fan boy needs and build several of my own vipers. by the way I FRAKKIN love that viper. Any chance we might see a Raptor or a Mark VII Viper?
  4. I've got a couple of the SS/Hobgoblin set. Check out my thread for details
  5. I'm in need of one. The FYE nearest to me closed down before I realized these were in stores. I've since called both the other stores nearby and the don't have then either. If anyone has an extra I'd really appreciate it.
  6. So WAY back when I made my own customs; Marvel Superheroes, Legos, even a few heroclix as of late. Now I'm interested in making some of my own custom miniates. I've been looking at these boards and there's some AMAZING stuff, stuff that make me rethink even venturing into the custom pool. My question is which is better Decals or Paints. I'm more familiar with paints, I know which brands to use from my little experience with customizing. However with the amount of detail you get from decals is astounding. So how long does it take to make a custom with decals? Do you have to do any striping on the body before applying? How do you make the decals? Is it just printed paper that you then glue on? Should I just give up on this decals idea and stick with what I know? Do you some of you mix both paints and decals? Also, how much would some of you charge for a commission with decals? I might just decide to pitch the idea of making it myself. Nothing sculpted just the decals or paint or whatever.
  7. Nope, none of the next gen systems. Nothin I wanna play besides Dead Rising on the xBox360 and I just borrowed my friends system for that. I'm a HUGE Playstation fan but I don't think I'll be getting a PS3 unless they have some kind of Resident Evil exclusive. Not a lot of games on the PS3 that catch my eye. I liked Resistance, but not enough to buy a system, again just play on my friends.
  8. I've used the same name for some years now. eBay, HCrealms (a heroclix forum), Resident Evil forums, xBox live, blogger, Livejournal, Urban Dead. I can't think of too many other off the top of my head but if you've seen this screen name it's more than likely it's me.
  9. Ello All, Just thought it'd be polite of me to introduce myself considering you have this fancy space set aside for it. To start I guess I should mention I've been a fan of minimates the second the first promo poster for the Marvel series came into my comic shop. I'd seen them before but never caught my attention like see my favorite webslinger in MM form. I've been a HUGE comic fan since I was kid (goin on 26 that's not much, but it's something). I've collected nearly all of the comic minimates, starting with Spidey, onto C3 Nightwing and his bunch and now even Battlestar Galactica MM. I've had the good luck to work at a comic shop so I've been there to get all the chase figs and snagged all the now UBER rare C3 stuff. I'm slowly dipping my feet into the customs pool. I'm also a fan of Heroclix if anyones into that. I guess that's about it. Got some more info on my myspace page. I guess that's it for now, hope to get to know you all soon. Ken a.k.a. LostKhance
  10. I'm like the only guy who went Old School Thunderbolts. I WOULD have gone with the Sinister Six, IF they were the right line up. Doc Ock, Mysterio, Kraven, Vulture, Sandman and Electro! That's the line up! I'm a geek, I'm sorry
  11. I like SG-1 a lot and I'm ok with Atlantis... that being said, I'm not so sure if that's the best idea. Case in point. I LOVE BSG ( Battlestar Galactica, to the uninitiated ) and with each set we are gettin so much of the same molds again and again. I love the Apollo, Starbuck and Boomer, but the ONLY difference between them are the heads. We've got a bunch of flightsuits and now a bunch of "standard" uniforms with Adama, Tigh and Cain. Next set? Flightsuit Helo uniformed Apollo and Starbuck. Now I'll buy this line cause I'm addicted and crazy but from a "creative/artistic" stand point it's not so awesome. Sadly if they did come out with a SG line... I would likely buy it. But Reideen1313 had a good point, now that the series is over for the most part it's a bit late to start a toy line. Also I have a quick custom of an SG soldier Dualla Body Apollo flight jacket and hands Head and hair I know but I'd rather someone guessed
  12. When I first heard about the about the Zombie 2 pack with Giant Man and Daredevil, I was psyched. With DC starting to us the larger original sized scale for some of their bulkier characters ( i.e. Killer Croc, Brainiac, Ares, etc.), I was hoping we'd get a larger scaled Giant Man. No such luck. I was wondering if there was any official reason why that didn't happen. Conversely I noticed that DC doesn't have any "Powerhouse" figures ( i.e. Powerhouse Thing, Powerhouse Venom, Powerhouse Sandman, etc.). Powergirl does have the chest expansion but not a "Powerhouse" by name. Now with Apocalypse on the way and still set on the smaller scale of mates it's a little disappointing. I'm curious if there's any legal reason/official statement as to why no cross over on these stylistic variations. I understand the matter of the C3 constructible playsets but this seems different. Then again it might just be that Art Asylum has a specific size license. So please if anyone has a definitive answer please let me know.
