  1. Would anyone have a spare Parker/Chameleon set? My local store never got these in despite having the BP wave.
  2. Heya! I got my tax return today and decided to finally start picking up various storylines/origin stories in the classic Marvel Universe that either I've read before (but never owned) or never read. What I'm looking for are the best storylines collected into volumes/collections. I usually lean towards older stuff (pre-90s comic book crash to be more precise) but I'm open to new stuff as well... I'm also really looking into getting some Hulk stuff that isn't Planet Hulk. I have the following: Marvel Masterworks The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 1 - 2 Fantastic Four Vol. 1 - 2 The Avengers Vol. 1 - 3 Silver Age Captain America Vol. 1 The Invincible Iron Man Vol. 1 The Mighty Thor Vol. 1 The X-Men Vol. 1 The Uncanny X-Men (Aka Giant Size X-Men) Vol. 1 Collected Storylines Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt Spider-Man: Birth of Venom Spider-Man: Death of the Staceys The Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 1 Avengers: The Origin Captain America: Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection Now, this is my current to-buy list: Thor Visionaries: Walter Simonson Vol. 1 - 2 Iron Man: Extremis Iron Man: Demon in a Bottle Iron Man Epic Collection: Stark Wars (Armor Wars Prologue and Armor Wars) Spider-Man: Origin of the Hobgoblin The Avengers: Kree/Skrull War Daredevil: The Man Without Fear - Frank Miller Daredevil: Born Again Wolverine - Claremont/Miller Captain America: Man Out of Time Silver Sufer Epic Collection: When Calls Galactus (The Coming of Galactus and various Silver Surfer stories) X-Men: Days of Future Past X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills Infinity Gauntlet The Death of Captain Marvel There are some books I would like to get but seem to be out-of-print and go for a pretty penny so, for now at least, these are out of my list until they either go back into print or are published into new, affordable collections: The Avengers: Under Siege Marvel Masterworks Daredevil Vol. 1 Marvel Masterworks The Incredible Hulk Vol. 1 Marvel Masterworks Dr. Strange Vol. 1 The Avengers: Ultron Unlimited So yeah, definitely looking for some good Hulk books (Perhaps Hulk Visionaries Peter David/John Byrne?) and others that aren't Spidey-related!
  3. http://marvel.com/news/movies/24062/sony_pictures_entertainment_brings_marvel_studios_into_the_amazing_world_of_spider-man Welp, dreams do come true! EDIT: Sources are saying he'll make his big debut in Captain America: Civil War and that Andrew Garfield is out. Standalone film hits July 28th, 2017, pushing back the rest of the phase 3 films except for Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
  4. Y'know, I find it odd that Sony is going with an all-female cast for this. Aren't most corporations against this sort of thing since it supposedly 'limits' the merchandising potential especially concerning toylines and video games? We already have a hard enough time getting female characters in other toylines as it is-- I mean, how long did it take for Hasbro to make a six inch-scale MCU Black Widow to be made after The Avengers came out? Personally, I don't see this reboot doing too well and it will most likey go right into the 'oh yeah, that existed' bin with recent flunked reboots/remakes like Robocop. I had not heard that spoiler, and that sounds amazing. There is a school of thought that women are more than 50% of the movie-going public, and girls are 50% of the toy-buying market, and if a girl wants to buy an action figure, they should be allowed to. The reality is not always that simple, but I applaud any studio willing to attempt to translate the success of a 100% female-driven comedy like Bridesmaids into an otherwise inactive franchise. I think Sony has seen the sales potential for women's GB merchandise over the years (apparel, costumes), and has the right idea. I think a kid-targeted movie could have led to more merchandise, but it's a fine tightrope making a kid movie appeal to adults, and I'm personally glad they went this route. Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm fine with a all-female cast (though I'm not a fan of some of the actresses they've chosen) and the fact they're taking a risk with it! I just found it odd Sony of all people are the ones taking said risk. A new cartoon would be fantastic and would be a good way to feature the original four characters without having to get any of the actors involved. I'm surprised Sony hasn't tried to make a CG GB series after Nick's TMNT became a major success, honestly. Imagine if Nickelodeon had a 'power-hour' with a new Ghostbusters cartoon followed by TMNT! IMO, I didn't care too much for the new movie myself (never cared for the sequels to the original, either) but it came and went out of theaters barely making $60 million on a $120 million-ish budget. (Though the worldwide gross was $240 million.) So it didn't make much of splash, at least here in the US.

  6. OHMIGOODNESS. I am so on board for super-articulated BTAS figures. Though it is odd that Batman, Two-Face and Mr. Freeze are from TNBA while Catwoman is from BTAS.
  7. Just got back. I personally thought it was okay. I do think the film has some problems, however: - Superman didn't seem too concerned with collateral damage during the climatic battle with Zod... which seems out of character. - A lot of the CGI sequences were much too cluttered and made it hard to focus on the action. Not as bad as Michael Bay's stuff but man... - Camera work was too erratic at times. How many times did Snyder need to do that zoom in-out of focus-zoom out-in focus thing? - Some of the dialogue... was not so great, especially that of the military characters. - Pacing seemed awkward, like on Krypton at the start. - I think they should've cut one of the early fight scenes. As cool as it was, I think they could've left it out and the movie wouldn't have suffered. I did like the film, though, and it makes a solid foundation for a new series. I just hope Snyder calms down at bit for the sequel. And while I did complain about it, the final fight between Supes and Zod was worth the ticket price. HOLY CRAP.
  8. LOVE LOVE LOVE this Hulk. The main reason I originally wanted this 2-pack was to get Loki (who is also great.) but Hulk ended up being amazing. Kinda sucks he didn't come with a raiser piece but I used the one from my previous Hulk so it's all good. He goes great with the other 'classic' style guys I have on display. Oh and...
  9. Its the 90s Cyclops. I just took off all the extra parts and added the mask, belt, gloves and boots.
  10. "X-Men, X-Men! Savin' the Day, Savin' the Day! X-Men, X-Men! Comin' your way!" The Pryde of the X-Men pilot cartoon was my first exposure to the X-Men so it's nice to finally have this team complete in toy form twenty-some-odd years later. Except for Wolverine's off center eyes, I love this wave.
  11. The TRU Storm looks exactly like the Power Glow Storm figure from that line. EDIT: Whoa, that tampo is pretty bad on Colossus there.
  12. My set (minus variant) is on its way from Luke's. I can't wait to get 'em.
  13. Man, all the Marvel stuff looks great! - Loki looks great despite the reuse of movie Loki's helmet. - Looking forward to getting Hulk that has the newer hands. (...Why does he have a second pair of hands?) ...I find it hilarious that Hulk and Loki are in a pack together. "Puny god." - Definitely want the Deadpool/Punisher set. I don't have Deadpool and love the classic Punisher look. - ZEMO!! - Will be getting all of the FF stuff. I prefer the white gloves/boots to the original black and all of the accessories and villains are simply wonderful.
  14. I'm not sure if its accurate or not. I based this more off my custom Marvel Universe Red Skull, which used a movie Comic Variant Hydra soldier body and a movie Red Skull head. I just think the colors and pieces make him a perfect counterpart to Cap and now he stand out much more in my display. And I'll keep you in mind about the Red Skull head piece.
  15. Made some new kitbashed mates after finally getting the MvsC3 Thor. Classic Thor - Head & Arms: Disney Avengers Boxset Thor Chest & Legs: Thor SDCC Boxset Thor Belt: TRU First Appearance Thor Helmet & Cape: Marvel VS Capcom 3 Thor The helmet and cape are a significant improvement over the previous capes; Thor's helmet now fits and his head can be moved around now. And in honor of Avengers coming out on home video today: "YOU WANT ME TO PUT THE HAMMER DOWN?!" --- Red Skull - Head & Body: Villains Boxset Red Sjull Gloves & Boots: Silver Age X-Men Boxset Cyclops Holster: Movie Captain America Gun: Movie Red Skull Armband: TRU Classic Iron Man I added the boots and gloves to create a contrast to Captain America's own. I really need to get a new Red Skull head since this one was damaged in storage.
  16. Hmmm... How about a black blank torso with red sculpted pieces that go on the chest and arms? The arms would be a solid red and the legs/mask would be the only areas that would need tampos. The feet/crotch pieces can be blank red. The torso would be a slip-on piece with small, sculpted tentacles sticking out of the back/shoulder area. The claws could be sculpted with small indents to apply black paint.
  17. How well does Thor's helmet/hairpiece fit with his cape? All of the previous ones that used the new sculpted cape never seem to fit right.
  18. I dunno man, the way they resolved Harry's character in Spider-Man 3 was REALLY weak and tremendously disappointing after building it up through three movies. That was just plain bad writing. I mean, using the BUTLER we've seen for one minute through all three movies to resolve everything? REALLY? Spider-Man 3 was a lazily written, total mess of a movie with great action sequences and symbiote costume design.
  19. Started to collect these a couple of weeks ago. Started with the Catwoman set and will pick up the Joker's Funhouse set in a few weeks. I might pick up that TRU baggie for the new mask part, though... After that I'm going through Bricklink to get the rest of the characters.
  20. I would disregard the information I posted. The guy who runs the linked site is an angry fan who made up stuff to get back at Marvel.
  21. "I'm Superman! He's Batman!" "Are those last names...?" "...Just one name each." "Like Madonna."
  22. Hmm. Just found this at another board about Marvel's plans with its animation division. Take it with a grain of salt, though, since I have no idea how reliable the source is: Hmmmm.
  23. Got 'em! They had done a reset at the local TRU where they replaced the Avengers display with an Amazing Spider-Man one. I figured they moved the mates around so I looked at the collectibles aisle... and almost missed 'em: A single, full peg of Wave 13 mates next to the Avengers/MvsC3 peg! Picked up the Spidey/Punisher and DD/Kingpin two-packs as I have no interest in the other characters. Surprisingly, Spider-Man might be my favorite mate of the bunch. The colors are a perfect red and blue! No more dark red or baby blue...
