  1. Thank GOD. I was looking at a less recent schedule yesterday and they had this set, The Expendables 2 set, AND Walking Dead series 1 all hitting this Wednesday. My wallet had a seizure. Now it looks like October 3rd is going to be a killer day for Minimates with Walking Dead, Marvel series 47, and the Mummy set hitting at once. Fortunately that's a day before my birthday so I might actually be able to swing the whole haul. Otherwise... By the way; Is there a thread for scheduled releases? I looked and couldn't find one.
  2. Every figure scale I've seen is based on a 6 foot tall human. Star Wars figures are referred to as 3 3/4" scale but they're actually 4" scale. The figure Kenner originally measured (back in the 20th century) was Luke Skywalker, a character who's 5' 8" tall. That would make a 1/18 scale figure of Luke exactly 3 3/4" in height. Han Solo is supposed to be exactly 6 feet tall and his figures tend to be a little taller at around 4". With Minimates, the bulk of the figure can throw off the scale visually. Mathematically 1/32 scale may be correct but some may prefer going a little larger to compensate for the figure's mass. This is why I want DST to offer a Winnebago especially for my Walking Dead Minimates. That could make a pretty cool playset/vehicle. And I'm pretty sure it would be inexpensive to license.
  3. Seconded. I think I'm having a nerd stroke.
  4. If 4" figures = 1/18 scale then 2" figures = 1/32 scale.
  5. I love The Munsters and Universal Monsters but if DST ever decides to offer Minmates based on Abbott & Costello, I'll be in nostalgia heaven.
  6. I have enough faith in Whedon's ability to create characters I care about that I'm not very concerned if any of the movie characters become regulars. That said, I fully expect some cool cinematic cameos come sweeps week.

  8. Sounds perfect for zombiemates. (Just trying to make lemonade.)
  9. That Amaterasu keeps coming apart at the waist. Great sculpt and a creative solution for a canine body but that torso peg really needed to be a little longer.
  10. Yikes. I'm reminded how some folks might make fine illustrators but not very good costume designers. That Scarlet Witch design is almost okay. The closure on the hip is fine but the opening needs to travel across to her right shoulder to create that deep neckline. And that footwear looks like it goes all the way up. I'd either give her spats or a boot cut lower than the knee. No sense in thigh-highs if they're covered by that long coat. Same with those gloves sewn into the sleeves. Why does she even need gloves? Is she hiding a secret identity? If she's cold then she's gonna need a scarf. Okay. I'll suspend my disbelief now.
  11. Finally found my set today. MODOK tampos looked good all around. Definitely worth the wait! NEXT!
  12. I didn't expect the director's cut to be significantly better but it was. As it was, it made an okay pilot for a TV series.
  13. There is no defense against Wolverine repellent Bat-spray. He should've gone with that right up front.
  14. I can see Jabba the Hutt as a blob with Minimate arms just fine but try to figure out how to do a B'Omarr Monk with existing parts from Minimates. Humanoid characters shouldn't be a problem at all but, yeah, droids and a few others would need to be Snarf'd.
  15. The playground scene was the best part of the film. The only thing missing from it was animated birds and squirrels. That would have made the movie a lot more kid-friendly and brought in bigger box office. It wouldn't have killed them to add a musical number either, a nice break from all the drama and violence. Kids eat that shit up. Just look at how popular Disney movies have been. And Daredevil sorely needed a them song that audiences could have been humming all the way to Christmas. "DaaareDEVillll! The man without fear! He doesn't need his eyes 'cause he's got a great ear!" Something like that. I'm sure Elton John could do better.
  16. Affleck can play Snapper Carr. I'm fine with that. As for Daredevil, I'm very eager to see what Marvel might do with a gritty, street-level crime-fighter like this. I love DD.
  17. Check this out. Looks like there's a chance Daredevil is headed back into the hands of Marvel.
  18. They should be talking to Adam West's people for the next film. He'd be all kinds of awesome.
  19. SHH! has a piece on Spider-Man costumes through the years. Not complete but not a bad compilation.
  20. Oh boy. I hope these sets do well enough that DST can offer these other fine performers from the upcoming The Expendables 3.
  21. Justice! I guess sometimes they DO get caught!
  22. I'm a life-long Batman fan. He's my favorite fictional character from just about any medium. I'm with Shane; I'm not about to let some murderous maniac ruin one of my favorite franchises any more than I'd let your average robber keep me away from convenience stores. What I find interesting – and a little troubling – is that elsewhere on the 'net, people are denying "The Aurora Effect." Apparently they're not reading the same posts I am. Without a doubt there are folks who would have seen this film but chose not to after hearing about the shooting. The troubling part is that some of these folks aren't scared of seeing ANY movie, they're only scared of seeing Batman movies. A psycho could have decided to shoot at an audience attending the Latest "Ice Age" movie. I can't help wondering how that would have impacted attendance. Would parents avoid future "Ice Age" movies or would they have stopped taking their kids to theatres altogether? I hope that this property isn't associated with this killing for long. It doesn't help that some media outlets continue to label it "The Dark Knight Shooting" or the "Batman Massacre." I know that the killer claimed to somehow identify with the Joker but other than being a nutcase, he bore no resemblance to the character. So no, youbastards, you're definitely not alone. I can't relate directly but I refuse to let this guy "win." The movie theatre is my church, a place of communion where like-minded people can enjoy some entertainment. I refuse to let a guy like this take that away from me, Batman film or otherwise. All that said, I'm sure there are a few Penn State football fans who can identify with you.
