  1. HOTDAMN!!!

That Viper's a thing of beauty. I want one so bad...

Any specific kit(s) that you used, or was it mostly partsbox built? Regardless, we need to see a ton of detailed pictures so we can all make our own....

Seriously... Thank you Graham for giving me a bright spot in this dreary working day.

  2. 90% of my gaming time lately has been devoted to the Burnout Paradise demo... Taking the game online was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done with a controller in my hands... I've always said that online gaming wasn't for me. There's no way I'd ever try my hand at a FPS online, because there's always those guys that that's all they do... I'm not horrible at them, but dying instantly isn't too much fun... Racing is racing, though...

I'm debating pretty hard about picking up the full release now, or waiting for a price drop... Decisions, decisions...

  4. What sold me on the PS3 was the integrated Blu Ray. I've been very pleased with everything so far. I've mostly been downloading Demos and playing those. Burnout Paradise looks amazing and I'll definitely be getting that when it comes out in January.

My PSN name is Jatta Pake (whatelse!).

I can't wait for Paradise. I've played that demo the most of all of them that I've dl'd... Everyday, I'm blown away by the things I can do with the PS3. Hooked the iPod up to it the other day. Dl'd the Doctor Who X-mas Special, put it on a mem-stick, plugged that into the PS3, and it played... Easily the coolest "toy" to come out in awhile... Plus, the on-line's free!

    PSN is: antacost

  5. Like MiniMyte, I've got an Aztek which I love... It's great for laying down those "hard to brush colors". The Testors 'brushes, I find, tend to work great once or twice and that's about it. I've got four different ones hanging in my workshop that vary with their reliability. Personally, I prefer the dual action, internal mix variety of airbrush. Tends to work the best.

I use Citadel/Games Workshop paints almost exclusively. The GW "Skull White" aresol paint is hands-down the best primer out there. It covers beautifully, and normally goes down smooth.

  6. I've been way out of the gaming loop lately... But, my wife finally caved-in, and after an exhaustive search (and a 3 hour roadtrip), I got my 60g PS3 on Friday. Since I almost heartily refuse to pay full price for a game,

You don't mind paying out for a 3 hour road trip to get the console, but you won't pay a few dollars more for a full priced game? That seems strange to me.

I'd do the exact opposite. I wouldn't travel far to get a console, but would a happily pay full price for a game, rather than going for a cheaper alternative. Different minds I guess.

Normally, I wouldn't have. The 60G PS3s are the ones that were recently discontinued. Also the only ones that are truly backwards compatiable... There's the reason for the "strange" 3-hour Roadtrip...

My problem with paying full price for games comes from the fact that I'll buy a game, never play it, and within three-four months they've dropped the price on it... Just a weird quirk with me and games... Used to buy alot of them, played very few...

  7. I'm back today with three more figures... A redone Mephisto, Captain Marvel & Kyle Raynor. I really like the way they've all turned out...

Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Should have another figure I've been working on for awhile posted shortly... Finally wrapped him up over the weekend.

  8. I've been way out of the gaming loop lately... But, my wife finally caved-in, and after an exhaustive search (and a 3 hour roadtrip), I got my 60g PS3 on Friday. Since I almost heartily refuse to pay full price for a game, I picked up Untold Legends for it, and have been enjoying the hell out of it daily. I also got Tony Hawk Proving Ground ($38 at Target on Black Friday), which is a fun game. Haven't played a TH since the first one, but I fell back into it pretty easily.

I'm hoping that Folklore will be under the tree for me this year. Really looking forward to playing that.

  9. Thanks everyone. I'm really happy with that Cap. Maybe if the costume sticks around, we'll get an official version...

I've got a new figure today. He's rounding out the first Invincible Box-Set, and is fan-favorite character, Allen the Alien. Really like the way that he turned out, and, on the plus-side, he was a pretty easy character to put together. As a special bonus, there's also an Invincible Box-Set Group Shot available for viewing.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

  10. Aapje, that tat sounds awesome.

I started last year with a Jolly Roger on my inside left bicep. Since then, I've gotten over half of my left upper arm done. They are addictive. I just got the back of my arm done three weeks ago, and I'm already talking about getting something new. Still have a few spots to fill in here and there, and I'm leaving the outside for a graphic that I'm still working on... Once I get the left arm filled, it's time to move on to the right.

I agree with Jeff. Let's start seeing some pics.

  11. Thanks to everyone that voted. Congrats to everybody that won. Thanks to JL and Mini_Myte for running the contest.

I really didn't think I had a shot at winning. Magnum P.I. was kinda out of far-left-field, but I had fun doing it... And that's what truly matters in these things... Having fun, Making Minis.

  12. Thanks for the compliments fellas...

As soon as I saw that new Alex Ross designed Captain America, I knew I had to make it into a Minimate. I'm really happy with the way that the figure turned out, but I'm not too happy with the pics. My camera shot them really dark. You can't see it in the pics, but the boots, knife, canteen & holster are all glossy... Oh well... Might be time for a new, better camera.

The figure is in the first post, or right here.

    Thanks for looking.
