  1. Well - that *is* a shame. I wasn't huge on these, but i was looking forward to seeing some of the SFII characters. I feel like they may have held off on some of the 'bigger names' from SF to put them in the third wave - but not having enough popular characters in the first two might have made the sales look a bit soft. It's funny/sad that we've now got 3 or 4 Chun-Li's, but still no Dhalsim or Blanka Normally i'd be campaigning like a mofo for more female characters - but this is one instance where i wish they'd pushed her back to Wave 3 & been able to give us just one more classic SF character. Yeah . . . . yeah. It's a shame really, as the final wave also had quite a few big hitters from Tekken (Paul, Law, Ogre and Jin spring to mind). Admittedly I'm more disappointed we won't get SFIV's Juri than I am some of the other SF characters (why did we get Rufus before her...?!). Maybe one day we'll get another shot at a SF line, and hopefully this one could include a nice mix of iconic and fan favourites.
  2. I’m okay with it actually since my MvC3 Chun-Li had a messed up face so a new one might look better, and I plan to repaint SFxT screaming Ryu into Evil Ryu so that all works out for me... I just hate we got RUFUS... seriously, who the f**k was clamoring for Rufus in ANY form... I know, given a new hair piece he’ll make a decent Marvel’s Blob but who’s the guy who’s psyched this fat piece of sh*t got a minimate over Vega, Balrog, Dhalsim, an updated M.Bison, Ibuki, and if DLC characters are on the table Blanka, Guy, or Cody?! Couldn't have said it better myself. Hell why did we get Rufus instead of Alex?! SFIV already got enough coverage with Abel and Juri (both of whom I like) but outside of DLC SFIII didn't get the same amount of love. And after seeing Maximilian's "Week of Alex" I'm certainly more interested in giving him another shot. And if Wave 2 is the last one, why did we get Rufus over Juri?! As a fellow practitioner of TaeKwonDo and a Korean, she's a great diorama partner/rival for Hwoarang. Anyway my usual "WE NEED MORE OBSCURE SF CHARACTER" ranting aside, I am keen to see what the bio says for Kuma and getting that fig. Despite being a (possible) joke character he's always been a favourite of mine, especially his pre-fight banter with Paul in Tekken 5. Look it up on YouTube if you're not familiar, as he tries to detour his arch rival feeling there is something fishy in the tournament. And like every other characters in Tekken, he speaks with his native language - which is growling! In fact bar Julia this entire wave contains a handful of either my usual Tekken "mains" (namely Hwoarang, Kuma and Yoshimitsu) or characters I've always liked (Kazuya and Hehachi). Combined with Steve Fox from wave 1 I'm pretty happy with the Tekken offering, though I do wish we'll get Jin, Paul, Law and Ogre.
  3. And I just ordered that set with SFxT wave 2 last weekend on Luke's Toy Store Thanks for letting me know Zach.
  4. Looking at your list, I don't think we'll be getting Blanka. For some reason I thought there were five characters from the main roster "left" for the SF side, not seven so I take back my previous comments about Blanka. Zach did say only three waves are likely (and even then, the third wave may be on hold) so even if the complete roster could be covered in waves 3 and 4, I'm not sure if it will, which is a shame as I really want Dhalsim, Ibuki, Juri, Blanka, Guy, Cody, Elena and Dudley from SF and Paul, Law, Bob, Jin, Ogre, Lars, Christie and Lei from Tekken (both Christie and Elena would benefit from Puck's "pose hand" due to their fighting styles). I couldn't agree more.
  5. Blanka is a DLC character and judging by the number per wave (12) and number of characters in the initial roster (35), it's likely one DLC SF and one DLC Tekken character will make it in Wave 3. HOWEVER there is no guarantee Blanka will be the one chosen (I'd rather see Dudley myself), but considering he is the only SF2/mainstream SF character in the DLC roster he makes the most sense. I would recommend familiarising yourself with the game's roster so you know who to expect. One of my favourite things about MK9 was the "klassic kostumes". Too bad some of the ones I really wanted (namely all the MK3 costumes) were for the Vita port . That aside I'd LOVE to have all the male ninjas, whether it's classic or modern as minimates. Couldn't agree more. As I have said before, I'd LOVE to see some of the Capcom characters like Captain Commando and Strider made as minimates as they were some of my favourites in MvC1 and 2
  6. I saw someone else do this on DA a few years back after they made a custom Guile. Really wish I had a spare one at hand myself as it's a brilliant idea. Most likely the increased fees for having two licenses on this line rather than one cut into the production budget. Yep, Zach pretty much said that earlier. I was surprised as I thought they'd only need one licence from Capcom due to it being a crossover game, but obviously I was mistaken.
  7. Does the Dazzler come with the energy ball or is it a spare accessory people have given her?
  8. I wasn't originally going to bother with this wave, but seeing photos of the sets (bar the Wolverine ones) makes me change my mind about this...
  9. Dude, I totally second that. I want the minifigures, and am far less interested in the building sets. Blind bagged Ninja Turtles? I would buy a whole box! Pretty much how I feel. I liked how the Ninjago line would include the mini figs in spinner sets, which sadly isn't going to feature in the final 2013 wave. Still, as a life-long TMNT fan I will probably get the cheapest sets possible to get the mini figs. I may sell the other figs in the set to try and make up some of the money. It's also worth pointing out Amazon seems to cut the cost on the Jan/March wave sets in the second half of the year so it may be worth waiting till then.
  10. I never got any of the minimates in Wave 45, so I'm definitely interested in the DD/Venom set and Hulk/Loki also sound good (it would be great if it's JIM Loki, but an update of Wave 16 would work just as well).
  11. Glad they're trying another shot at the "Ben Grimm inside Thing" approach for Wave 15. This is also the first time I want all the figs in a TRU wave, so nice one. The Wolverine boxset is also meh to me (much like my opinion of Wolverine in general ). Disappointed there is no sign of Street Fighter x Tekken Wave 3. Battle Beasts look good but I can't say they appeal to me.
  12. I take it Ben is the torso from the original Ben Reilly/Spider Carnage and the rest is from Spider-Girl? What about his face and hair? I ask because I'm keen to make my own version
  13. +1 +2 +3, though I hope he has a removable mask like Miles. I know 99% of Minimate fans HATE this angle, but I personally like it as I enjoy posting the character holding their mask. Heck, you could do Kane as the regular minimate in a wave and a long-over due re-release of classic Scarlet (again, with removable mask please ) as the chase.
  14. Mine arrived last week but I have kept them in the bag Luke sent them in until me friend can lend me her husband's quick coat. I've personally never applied ANYTHING like this before and I am worried I could smear the emblems when I apply the coat. Can someone please give me some advice on the best way to apply the stuff without risk of smearing the emblems and are multiple coats advisable? How long does one take to dry?
  15. Event Hubs is primarily a fighting game website and is where I normally go for info relating to the FGC. It dopes have some helpful guides I've been meaning to look into (despite my avid love of fighting games I'm hardly good. I struggle to beat Seth on anything bar Very Easy in Street Fighter IV and can spend the best part of half an hour fighting Gill in SFIII!)
  16. I got all of the non-promotional Street Fighter minimates from "Gamestation", which is a UK based company (promotional ones like Evil Ryu/Shin Akuma weren't so easy to come by, typically). However I do feel it's worth pointing out SFxT didn't do as well game sales wise and has been rejected by the FGC due to bugs and the DLC fiasco. As much as I hate saying this, I do feel fans may not be as warm to the minimates because of this (although the comments I have seen on Event Hubs regarding the minimates has been relatively warm, albeit minimal).
  17. It's fine Zach. As a developer I've had to cut back on ideas due to budget restraints, but comments like the one I highlighted is why I think you guys at DST are awesome
  18. I'm quite disappointed at the lack of stands and accessories outside of weapons. I was hoping we'd FINALLY get a Shoryuken flame for Ken (which could double as a stand perhaps?). However Zach did say they had to pay for the license from both Capcom AND Namco, suggesting there wasn't enough in the budget to make stands and non-mandatory accessories.
  19. It's a great idea, Ask DST! Or, you know, buy the Zangief that's at TRU right now. Oh I plan to . But I used to main Captain Commando and Strider which is why I'd love to see both of them get made at some point
  20. Tangent thought - Marvel vs Capcom Origins, i.e. the "Online Edition" of MvC1 and Marvel Super Heroes has just been released and a thought crossed my mind - what if DST gets a licence to do those games? The reason I bring this up is the roster contains some of my personal favourites on the Capcom side, namely Captain Commando, Strider, Mega Man and Jin Saotome (he has a giant robot) as well as others like Zangief, Roll and "Shadow Lady" (a black variant of Chun-Li with slightly different moves like drill hand and ability to launch missiles for example). Now maybe it's just me but I feel those guys (possibly with the exception of Shadow Lady) could make a great one wave line (i.e. the usual Comic Shop/TRU split) and FINALLY give us Mega Man for our collection (as well as Cap Com and Strider whom I want just as much). Any one else agree this could be a great idea?
  21. Much as I like the SF1 Ryu look, I do agree. Considering the original SF/Darkstalkers line got cancelled I had hoped we'd squeeze as many out of the latter as possible.
  22. You're not. Though, you're probably the most vocal. 3rd Strike is possibly my favorite SF game, and every moment that passes and I don't have an Ibuki Minimate, I am sadder on the inside. 3rd Strike is easily one of my favourite games of all time, so the backlash and general ignorance it has received is quite frustrating and sad. Comments like "All the new characters look like Darkstalkers rejects" and the general hate is uncalled for in my eyes, as even if there are similarities between Dudley and Barlog, it's just that - a similarity. I've come to view the non-SFII games as underdogs, especially 3rd Strike, and I tend to want to stick up for them and make people look at them in a new light (though I appreciate forcing others to look at something when they are less willing isn't going to get the desired result). It pains me I've not had the time to dive into Online Edition and get the half decent skills I had a few years back. The fact is, I'd honestly LOOOOOVE to have a Dudley minimate in my collection which is why I both love and hate the fact he's DLC - it means when I have the cash for both SFxT and the DLC pack, I can play him and team him up with my Tekken main Steve, but it means I am unlikely to get him as a minimate. To me it's no different to all the Kang fans out there demanding a Kang minimate - he's some obscure villain I knew next to nothing about but some people liked him and wanted to see him and DST eventually agreed. Dudley (as well as other SFIII characters) is to me what Kang was to his legion of fans. Asking purely for SFII characters from this line is like asking for purely X-Men characters from the Marvel line. Sure, it may be the most famous aspect of the company/franchise/whatever, but there is far more to it than just the well known and in my eyes, there's a lot you can find by delving a little deeper and seeing what else can be found. That's why I like web critic CR's series "Familiar Faces" - it looks at the overlooked characters from franchises, tv shows etc. and makes you keen to see more (at least with me anyway).
  23. In Japan, M.Bison is called Vega, Balrog is M.Bison and Vega is Balrog. However Capcom of America a) were worried that a boxer named M Bison might land them in hot water with someone named Mike Tyson (you may have heard of him...) and felt Vega was too weak a name for a final boss, so they switched the names around. This has caused some fans to call them Dictator, Boxer and Claw encase one player considers M.Bison to be the dictator and another to be the boxer. It's pointless trivia like this that I find quite fascinating. On a similar note, recently Balrog's gloves have a bison/bull on it as a nod to his Japanese game, although you can only really see it on games like SFIV. Well, this is Street Fighter x Tekken, not SFII x Tekken. I understand not everyone has ventured out into the sequels and spin offs and in the opinion of a fighting game fan you are SORELY missing out as Alpha 3, SSIV AE and especially 3rd Strike all blow SFII out of the water with their vast improvements to the fighting mechanics and in my eyes, some better and more interesting character designs. But then I've learnt I'm probably the only member on this forum who takes such an interest in fighting games. Other fans are more casual and thus only played the game they grew up with, i.e. SFII. However as a fan of characters who are either unlikely to get made or just aren't in the game, I can agree with your feelings. Still, assuming it would have ALL the SFII characters when the name doesn't specially say SFII is wrong on your half because there are more games in the franchsie than just SFII (hell there's a SFI out there that, while even more limited by today's standards than SFII, shows some of the trends that would evolve in later games and even had a handful of interesting characters, some whom got revived while sadly others were left in obscurity).
  24. Ironically since the on disc DLC fiasco for SFxT, the "re-release upgrades" and Namco saying "they won't charge for DLC characters; they will always be free", the Fighting Game Community is REALLY backing Namco/Tekken at the moment and Capcom's name is the equivalent of mud. That said I would be disappointed if we don't get all three waves. Sure it won't contain all the characters I want from the two franchises (either due to them being DLC and thus having a lower chance or not even being in the game), but I still want to get as many characters a I can to have them in minimate form. And I too back One Piece minimates; it's the only manga series I continued to follow after I dropped anime and manga a few years back.
  25. Unfortunately E. Honda isn't even in SFxT . As TheAnvil pointed out, not all the "classic" SFII characters are in the game (it is, after all, called Street Fighter x Tekken). Based off whom we've had so far and who is left, I suspect Wave 3 will involve the following: Street Fighter: Dhalsim Ibuki Vega (aka Balrog or Claw) Balrog (aka M.Bison or Boxer) M. Bison (aka Vega or Dictator) Juri Akuma Tekken: Bob Asuka Jin Xioayu Law Paul Ogre Street Fighter wise only Dhalsim and Juri really interests me as I'm not a big fan of the bosses (I border line HATE Balrog, namely due to his characterization in the Udon comics) and Ibuki not being a personal favorite of mine from the SFIII roster. Dhalsim was my main as a kid as Juri is both an interesting character and also uses TaeKwonDo, which I've personally trained in. There is also one space left which COULD go to a DLC character (probably Blanka, maybe Sakura, Cody or Guy. Elena and Dudley are unlikely, despite how much I want the latter). However I will be getting them all. Tekken wise Jin, Law, Paul and Ogre interest me the most. However my two mains - Steve and Hwoarang are both covered so I'm more interested in them. I'm not sure which DLC character is likely from Tekken as they all pretty obscure, but I hope for Lei myself as he's been a favourite of mine since Tekken 2. However as a fan of both franchises I will still be getting them all, even if I consider them to be a "scrappy". Even though this line won't include all the characters I want, I still hope the three waves that were originally planned get made.
