  1. Can anyone link me to reliable Minimate Decal bases? The only ones I've found on MM led to bogus links.
  2. I've said this in other threads, but I think a Rage of Ultron-styled Wasp would pair magnificently with a 2010 Giant-Man, since the Avengers Academy costume was the one he wore in RoU. That being said, an actual, real version of the 2000s Wasp costume (the one which the movie versions are based upon) would be the most realistic to expect since it's her most recognizable one, tho I would die for one based/loosely based on her Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated design, unlikely it may be, which is by far and away my favorite depiction of the character.
  3. Just throwing it out there as a random suggestion; Avengers #221 roster box set. I have 2 motives for having this be a set: 1. New Wasp. That should be obvious by now to people who know me. 2. New She-Hulk. We've only had 2 and that's a problem. A brand-new comic book She-Hulk would be stellar.
  4. Those are fair. For me, if we're going for any of the Romita Sr.-influenced Spideys, my favorite would have to be the Heroes Box Set version. I got it along with the Villains Set Green Goblin in that T.R.U. 2-pack back in 2009 as part of my first ever set of Minimates. While I do prefer the Wave 24 Spider-Man just for aesthetics, I definitely think the Heroes Box Set version is a stellar figure, and I would recommend it to anyone trying to obtain a '60s Marvel display as probably the definitive Spider-Man of that era.
  5. Back for a third round, this time with Marvel's (debatably) most popular character (aside from the other guy in red tights, who carries katanas and S.M.G.s around and eats chimichangas...); ol' Spidey himself! It's possible that Spider-Man is the one character with the most Minimates dedicated to him, period, across all Minimate lines, not just Marvel. With all the web-head's various looks over the years, accompanied by both Art Asylum and Diamond's various attempts at interpreting those looks in that timeframe, what do you consider Diamond's most solid attempt? Given that Spider-Man is my favorite character in all of fiction, I have several picks, covering a variety of the character's costumes; Classic suit - either Wave 24 Classic Spider-Man or Torment Spider-Man Black suit - Wave 24 Back in Black Spider-Man Scarlet Spider suit - T.R.U. Wave 24 Scarlet Spider Iron Spider - T.R.U. Wave 21 Iron Spider Movie suit - Wizard World Exclusive Spider-Man 3 Red Spider-Man Civilian Peter Parker - hodgepodge of Wave 24 Classic Spidey's Peter Parker head and torso, Wave 24 Back in Black Spidey's alt. hairpiece, and Wave 18 Peter Parker's arms, jacket, and legs. Again post your picks below.
  6. Diamond's still hoping people forget about the Destroyer so they don't have to make him again. Callin' it. XD
  7. Having given it some thought, I think I'd have to say my favorite MCU Iron Man Minimate has to be either the Mark VII from Wave 45 (the Avengers movie wave) or the Mark LXXXV from the Endgame line. I've grown to deeply love the Mark VII over the years, to the point where I can consider it my favorite of the original 7 armors from Phase 1. The Mark LXXXV I love because it's literally classic Iron Man, but with an MCU aesthetic. Favorite armor in the MCU bar none.
  8. W.I.P. on my NWH last scene suit Spider-Man. I don't imagine that I'm the first guy to attempt this specific design with a Minimate, but if I am, then boy would I be honored to have set a precedent. XD This guy has actually been a lot harder to pull off than one might think. Trust me.
  9. I'm currently working on a custom figure of the NWH final swing suit Spider-Man, but I would like to see Diamond take a crack at it. Wouldn't even be hard, either. They could easily just retool the printing designs of the Wave 73 Spider-Man but modify them to have a brighter/shiner blue and different chest and back emblems.
  10. I've been championing more Ant-Man related Minimates for a while now. With the third Ant-Man movie on the heels of release, would it be too far out of the realm of possibility to do a wave based on the history of Ant-Man and the Wasp? I can even name some prospective figures for a whole wave, or even a 6-pack box set if that's the route you guys decide to go in; Classic Ant-Man and Classic Wasp Comes with accessories to turn Hank Pym from a generic scientist attire to his original Ant-Man uniform, as well as Giant-Man (complete with new helmet molds for the classic Giant-Man mask, and that second costume he got with the blue helmet). I also had an idea that a Micromate Ant-Man would be included here as well. Wasp would also have accessories to make her into civilian Janet van Dyne, as well as give her her original Wasp costume from her debut in Tales to Astonish #44, and her second Wasp costume towards the end of Hank and Jan's first stint with the Avengers. A possible other alternate accessory would be a flight stand. Micromate Wasp would be another one. Yellowjacket and Marvel's Egghead Yellowjacket would come with accessories that, like with Classic Ant-Man, can turn him into Hank Pym with a lab coat, as well as an alternate head to depict his mental breakdown. Other accessories would include Yellowjacket's shrinking gun (I suggest using Doctor Doom's handgun from the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 assortment), and a Yellowjacket Micromate. Egghead would be, probably the most simplistic of the wave, only coming with accessories to put him into a lab coat or a suit appearance, and a handgun. Uncanny Wasp and Marvel's Whirlwind Wasp's design would be based on that modernized version of her classic costume from Uncanny Avengers and Avengers: Rage of Ultron. Accessories would include an alternate hairpiece for Janet van Dyne, a flight stand, and a Wasp Micromate. Whirlwind would be based on the classic design from Tales to Astonish. Accessories would include an alternate hairpiece for David Cannon and that whirl stand that's come with recent figures of Electro and the Human Torch to replicate the character's tornadic abilities. Modern Giant-Man and Unstoppable Wasp Modern Giant-Man would, more or less, be a reskin of the Giant-Man included in the Classic Ant-Man and Wasp pack mentioned earlier with a paintjob representing the costume he received in Avengers Academy in 2010. Accessories would include an alternate hairpiece for Hank Pym and lab coat accessories. Unstoppable Wasp would come with an alternate hairpiece for Nadia Pym, a flightstand, and possibly even a clipboard of some experiment she'd been working on. A Wasp Micromate, too. IDK, these are just my thoughts and ideas for breathing new life into the line. We'd get updated renditions of figures like the original Ant-Man and Wasp, which we haven't gotten figures of since the Avengers #1 box set from 2008, as well as fan-favorites like Egghead, Whirlwind, and Nadia Pym's Wasp. Sure, it might be a bit too focused on underrated characters, but... how many times can Iron Man and Captain America be pumped out before it's time for D.S.T. to move on to the other iconic members of the Avengers, right?
  11. Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, Captain Marvel (from her appearance at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Jane Foster Thor, MoM Doctor Strange, and NWH last scene suit Spider-Man.
  12. ...is it articulated? ISTG, if it's articulated, I may have to scream.
  13. I honestly just want a really good figure of Hank's original Giant-Man costume. I NEED a decent update for Giant-Man that's NOT the Heroes Return design. I'm talking 1960s, Jack Kirby Giant-Man. It'd work two-fold, since they can make an original Giant-Man (possibly paired with a Wasp figure of some sort) and re-use the same pieces for a figure of Giant-Man's Avengers Academy redesign from 2010. IDK, I'm just thinking of ideas. I really just want a good Giant-Man figure at long fucking last.
  14. I wouldn't be shocked. Though, this year would be more appropriate, I feel, especially considering that new Ant-Man comic coming out to commemorate his 60th anniversary. There's a LOT to play with there, since Hank Pym has gone through so many identities and costume changes over the years. Same with Janet and her innumerable (albeit basic) costumes.
  15. With 2022 marking the 60th anniversary of not only Spider-Man and the Hulk, but also Ant-Man, I wanted to reach out there and see if there were any other fans of the character who would like to see more 'Mates of members of the Ant-Man family. Since 1962, we've gotten a huge bevy of costumes and designs for Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne (attributed to the former's mental troubles, and the latter's love for varying fashion designs). While it can be fair to say that Diamond has successfully covered the majority of Hank Pym's most recognizable costumes (with both his original Ant-Man/Giant-Man costume being done in the Avengers #1 box set, the S.D.C.C. Marvel Zombies version in that 2-pack with Zombie Daredevil, Yellowjacket and Goliath in Wave 32, the Heroes Return Giant-Man costume in Wave 44, and the Marvel Adventures: The Avengers Ant-Man costume in Best Of Wave 3), I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that the majority of those figures are outdated and not up-to-date with Diamond's more recent efforts. For the Wasp, even less so, as the only actual, official figure we've ever gotten of Janet van Dyne has been in the Avengers #1 box set. The following Wasp figures (which didn't even happen until the Ant-Man movie was released almost 10 years later) have been based exclusively on the Hope van Dyne version of the character, be it based on her movie and animated designs. Scott Lang has only had one comic figure from Wave 44. Every other figure of him, to my knowledge, has been based on the movie costumes. I dunno. I just wanted to reach out and connect with fans of Ant-Man, since he's one of my absolute favorite superheroes in the Marvel pantheon of characters and one of the most underrated as well, and raise awareness to Diamond Select Toys on the potential and viability that they could get off of making figures of Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, Scott Lang, and the rest of their associated characters, since there are a lot of costume possibilities that exist with that family. Please, sound off responses below if you also have interest in bringing more attention to the Avengers' iconic size-changers.
  16. I'm sorta mixed, personally. Other than her 2000s costume (the all-black one with the yellow pattern on the chest/stomach), which is her most recognizable look, and her Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated design (which has as much chance of getting a figure as Mercury has to getting a snowstorm), I think that the majority of Wasp's costumes have been... generic. And pretty ugly, if I'm being honest. Most of them are either just basic costumes that consist of 1 or 2 colors each or are... forgettable. The only one of her costumes that really stands out to me after her original 1960s costumes from Tales to Astonish and The Avengers is her yellow and red costume, which she wore, IIRC, up until the 1980s Avengers comics. I'll be honest, though; I think making a figure of her Uncanny Avengers costume (which is directly based on her original costume from 1963) would be pretty awesome, since you can have a classic-looking Wasp to fill out your more regular/default suit lineup of characters while also having something that would fit snuggly in with the more modern-looking characters.
  17. Oh, no, I have the original Wasp from 2008, but that's the issue. From 2008. It's the only actual Minimate of Janet van Dyne we've ever gotten. Every successive Wasp figure that's come out (which only happened, like, 10 years later) was based on Hope van Dyne, be it the movie version or the animated version.
  18. With Walgreens 'Mates being done for, should we archive this channel? Unless there's a way for DST to get the license back, I don't see why this thread should continue.
  19. Honestly, I really just want more classic Avengers. I've been championing it for a few months now; can we please have new 'Mates of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne? I'll legit take anything at this point for those 2 characters. They've gotten next-to-no love in the realm of Marvel Minimates aside from the MCU stuff, and even with the MCU stuff, there's no figure of Janet herself. Please, Diamond. Pull together and give us new 'Mates of Giant-Man and Wasp.
  20. Another idea I had (I might have brought this up before, IDR) is an MC2-based wave. We got Spider-Girl in Wave 30... more than 10 years ago. XD In all seriousness, tho, a whole MC2 wave, IMO, would not only offer Marvel an opportunity to have another go at Mayday Parker, but also to introduce other characters not previously seen in the Minimates' pantheon (American Dream, Stinger, J2, Mainframe, etc.). Even if it's a 6-pack, or 2 6-packs, I'd still take them. I dunno. I'm a guy with a terrible lotta love for the MC2 imprint (I honestly think it's one of Marvel's finest, undiscovered gems) and if there can be more merch based on it, I'm for it all the way. No questions asked.
  21. He looked different, yeah, but it's still Roth. I'm not a supporter of it. I think it's a tad ridiculous. I understand Marvel wanting to use recasts in the context of flashbacks to earlier media (like the Incredible Hulk scenes in the third episode of What If... ?), but outright declaring those films non-canon in the sense of pure casting is taking the piss.
  22. Abomination is played by the same guy, Tim Roth. Hell, he provided the vocals for Abomination's cameo in Shang-Chi.
  23. I guess that's fair. I dunno. I'm just throwing out ideas. Anything to get my precious updates for Hank and Janet.
