If we're going hard on a 'never gonna happen' wish list 10-pack, then this year is the 25th anniversary of of Generation X:

    Banshee
    Emma Frost
    Jubilee
    Skin
    Chamber
    M
    Husk
    Sync
    Penance
    Emplate

If you can find a way to include a Mondo somewhere along the way, have at it.

You could probably get away with an alt head for one of them, like um... I suppose, M could be included as an alt head for Husk. But then you'd have to get two (or get one loose) to have them all. But that would allow for a Mondo. Maybe ditch Emma - because this is purely dreaming, we don't necessarily need her to help anchor it as the most notable character, and the First Class Emma is just close enough to be Gen X Emma, methinks.

    fig1210flg.jpg

Or maybe be really sneaky and say you also envision a corresponding TRU two-pack of Chamber and Husk to free up two spots for Mondo and um what was the girl with pink hair? Gaya? Or maybe - much better - 616 Blink! Or Black Tom Cassidy. Or whatever.

I'm down for it any way.

  2. That's almost identical to what I thought the wave could be - and was going to post it! The only difference was I had Hulkling with "Hawkeye as Goliath" though and the Skrull specifically as "Skrull Empress". Just because I can't see two army builders in a wave, especially two we've already had ages ago, as good and appropriate as they'd be.

On Vision - on top of translucent alt parts, they could include a miniature Ant-Man accessory. Wanda would presumably have those magic hands re-used from the AvX minimate (and the main difference - hopefully a better cape). Mar-Vell really only needs an alt hair piece that's his blonde hair. Maybe throw in an alt head that's a Skrull wearing his mask (to recreate the Skrull one from Secret Invasion!). That pack should also contain the Omni-Wave Projector. And Goliath, size-changing parts. Hopefully allowing the option to have him not have any giant add-ons if desired. Hulkling would have a few big pieces too, and alt parts, so, I'm not sure packing him with Goliath would be viable (maybe stick him with Mar-Vell... but then you have to find something better than a "Skrull Empress" to go with Goliath - maybe a new Yellowjacket or blergh something like yet another Iron Man or Captain America). Thor would come with Mjolnir and either the spinning Mjolnir or a new Mjolnir with lightning effects and un-helmeted hair. Triton, probably nothing, beyond a water effect stand. Rick Jones doesn't need any accessories either, although a guitar wouldn't be the worst thing.

I think it is definitely a viable wave (and sadly much more likely that OGS).

  3. Ultimates: Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Giant Man, Wasp, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Black Widow
Ultimate X-Men: Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Colossus, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Rogue, Angel, Beast (there's a decent enough Wolverine from Wolverine Thru the Ages)
Ultimate Heroes: Spider-Man, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, Miles Morales, Falcon, Vision, Mahr Vell, Dazzler
Ultimate Villains: Green Goblin, Loki, Magneto, Doctor Doom, Sub-Mariner, Colonel Abdul Al-Rahman, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Deadpool, Red Wasp

    I said it's dreaming!

  4. Once upon a time there was a SDCC-exclusive ten-pack of Iron Man movie figures.

Image result for minimates hall of armor

This was a one-off and I've seen Zach shut down people hoping for another one at least once, but here's a thread for all us dreamers to dream of this mythical beast that could justify obscure unlikely characters and fill so many gaps. For example, I remember, Mattel once did an exclusive 12-pack of the entire Legion of Super-Heroes and that was GENIUS - it meant these characters that were mostly unlikely to ever get made as single figures managed to all get done and packaged together.

Go on, fire away, what ten-packs do you wish we had that we never will get. And the great thing is, there's no wrong answers (unless you want 10 more Iron Men and nothing else).

  5. tumblr_pokmvqXuct1tms107o1_1280.jpg

That's what it looks like, Shaman crotch and the Street Fighter chest block I was using for someone else (and it still doesn't match). and there's my kitbash between the two Wonder Men, since someone asked - Chest, arms and belt from one and everything else from the other..

  6. I think pushing TWO Inhumans into the wave is a bit overkill - especially since the Inhumans strand was mostly a diversion. Triton at least was VERY prominent when he showed up and had that really iconic Neal Adams splash-page (he was also the cliffhanger in the issue before!). Mar-Vell I think should have white hair but also have the blonde hair as a pack-in. I would say there needs to be some Skrull representation... maybe "Skrull Empress" which would be modelled on the princess or whatever. Or just have an army building two-pack of new Kree and Skrull soldiers - that would be great (both their mates are quite anachronistic) but I can't imagine they'd be good for shelves. Maybe do what the Marvel Legends did and include alternate parts so you can say it's Original Captain Marvel vs. Super-Skrull as well as an army builder.

  7. Maybe a Kree/Skrull War wave is more likely?

Hawkeye as Goliath, re-dos of classic Vision and Mar-Vell and maybe Scarlet Witch, Wasp, Yellowjacket, maybe a new Classic Thor even... an army builder of Kree or Skrull... can even slip Triton in there to help get another bit of the Inhumans royal family built. BAF of... Rick Jones (which would be a waste to me since you can really easily make a perfect Rick Jones with a Predators Minimate)? maybe air force Carol Danvers? Or even the Supreme Intelligence (I'd have no idea how they'd do that, be interesting that's for sure)

  8. OGS is one of my favourite Avengers stories but it has been a story Marvel have buried. Editorial generally don't like anything from the early 90s because "90s comics are awful".

Yep, Sersi is such an easy custom, the minute that Enchantress was announced I wanted it just for that.

Also with OGS you've got even more long in-demand characters, outside of the Avengers - Lilandra, Deathbird, Shi'ar army builder, Imperial Guard, new Kree or Skrull army builders, Binary, I would honestly say getting a OGS wave is only ever going to be disappointing because no matter what you're probably not going to get all the characters you'd want or wished for from the story.

We'd definitely get a Quasar at least.

  9. There was a What If based on Operation Galactic Storm that had Cap wear some armor. Or if you want to be very loose, the issues that directly followed Operation Galactic Storm were... CAP-WOLF... Can't say Iron Man space armor is particularly exciting, the one from OGS was just the Neo-Classic armor with a bit of a backpack and no mouth on his helmet. Honestly, a re-do of neo-classic or modular would be more enticing that a obscure armor that doesn't look good to begin with. I think a re-do of Wonder Man would be prime fodder for an OGS wave. Since he was one of the 5 "main" characters. Pack him with white Vision. And considering she's in a movie now, Doctor Minerva and Binary would definitely probably be in that wave before a lot of needed Avengers like Starfox, Sersi and Crystal. Also if Gilgamesh ever ever gets a Minimate, I will eat a Minimate hat.

But I don't ever imagine why they'd do a wave spinning out of a story Marvel themselves ignore.

I was hoping we'd get an comic Infinity War wave but it's becoming less and less likely the further we get from that movie. Loads of stuff from that which would be great. A new classic Thanos, bulked up Drax, classic Gamora, Magus, Moondragon, Quasar, Death... heck, even most of those Avengers from OGS (those events were pretty much back-to-back with each other).

On the topic of Hercules, someone a while back used the AoA Rogue necklace piece over a Ryu torso and removed the skirt and I think it works fantastically.

I honestly had considered using that but I couldn't immediately find a chest block that matched the arms and legs. But even still, the Rogue bit - it's not quite right for that design. Very close though.

I wouldn’t even mind another classic Hercules because the torso capper they used on the original is my most hated piece ever created.

Glad i'm not alone. I really hate it. If only there was a print underneath or something, the Minimate would be improved about 90%.

They could either do a second set shortly before/after with the Fantastic Four or mix them two teams together. A classic FF could include a classic blue/black costume Sue that’s been long overdo for an update. Perhaps a “white hot nova” Human Torch (glow in the dark!) and also yield some fun villains like Dragon Man, Diablo, Wizard, Trapster, Psycho Man, even the Red Ghost with some non-poseable Super-Apes!

If we get another FF wave and still don't get a Crystal or a new She-Hulk...

  13. I think Red Guardian is at the least a notable design (more so than he is a character), people do either know the design without having actually read anything with him in or at least can tell a lot from just the costume. I think it's not just to "pad a Captain America wave", I think it's also that he is... well... a representation for a country. Like, Union Jack always gets figures (weirdly more than Captain Britain) and Guardian is usually the first port of call for Alpha Flight characters - I think characters having a flag on them is a big reason, I think that helps them appeal a little more to people not versed in comics.

  14. Yeah, I really like the MvC Doom... just not in hand. It looks great but he's just not very poseable. He looks good if you just have him stood static and that's it. I think whenever I want to pose him or play with him, I tend to give him Spectre's cape and hood and some spare Ultron arms.

  15. Let's have a Defenders boxset with Luke Cage, that Valkyrie, Hellcat and Red Guardian.

Then I can turn my attention to moaning about not having a Clea, a Son of Satan and a Gargoyle.

  16. For the nitpicky, opinionated and the indignant - which old or previously released Minimates would you like a redo of?

    Mine:

    Daredevil (Yellow)
    fig0003flg.jpg
We really really need a new version of Daredevil's original costume, we've had some fantastic Daredevil's and I want a yellow one to match those. If just for the D-Man Within.

    Drax (Infinity Gauntlet)
    fig0848flg.jpg

First up, I don't mind this one, it's good enough at capturing his earlier appearance - but what I do mind is that for the story this was meant to be from - it's off. Drax was in his big dumb brute form in Infinity Gauntlet and this is crying out for Hulk pieces to bulk him up.

    Firestar

    fig0075flg.jpg

I mean, this is coming, surely... right? Yeah? Surely?

    Hercules

    fig0765flg.jpg
I absolutely hate this Minimate - the really bad printing on the skirt piece, the torso being totally blank underneath the the chest piece, that chest piece itself, the colours and it just looking awful next to a Thor Minimate..

    Hulk (Pantheon)
    fig0502flg.jpg

Really unlikely this one, but this was the costume he wore in Infinity Gauntlet and for that I want this one redone. For the time being, Professor Hulk legs on a regular Hulk will suffice... BUT I'd be down for a new version of this instantly.

    Human Torch (Invaders)

    fig0584flg.jpg

This... doesn't really looke anything like the Golden Age Human Torch. His face was generally depicted without features and instead just vertical lines. Same is true of his chest. There are Johnny Storm Human Torches that look a bit more like the guy than this.

    Iron Fist (Classic)

    fig0104flg.jpg
I think the modern Iron Fist we have (the Best Of) is brilliant but I would like to see a Classic Iron Fist with that level of love. Also, I'd love a red variant...

    Power Man (Classic)

    fig0103flg.jpgfig0411flg.jpg
Needed badly. Really badly. The modern Luke Cage's are fine, but this is MY Luke Cage and he's badly represented alongside everyone else with an ancient Minimate! The zombie one was a bit of a tease, but I still think DST could do an even better version now.

    Phoenix (Dark Phoenix)

    fig0116flg.jpg
I'm honestly surprised we've never gone back to the well and gotten a new iteration of Dark Phoenix. We've got two good 'mates of the Green version and a good 'mate of the White, but this is all we've got for the Red. C'mon, some of us want to make a Rachel Summers kitbash here!

    She-Hulk

    fig0143flg.jpgfig1435flg.jpg
We've got two She-Hulks but I'm just not satisfied with either. Maybe it's my desire to have a more classic attired She-Hulk, maybe it's because neither of these really works well with spare Susan Storm parts, or maybe they're just not particularly great at capturing the character's likeness and personality.

    U.S.Agent
    fig0527flg.jpg
Most the parts from this are still decent, just the fact the arms are generally wrong (it's a frequent artist mistake people give him white sleeves ala Captain America's) and the shield being completely wrong. Also, incredibly doubtful, but I am one of the only ones but I'd kill for a mask like this instead of the ones Cap's usually have.

    Vision (Classic)

    fig0507flg.jpg
I mean, c'mon, the guy is essential to most Avengers line-ups and you nailed that "modern" design and this old version is really lame - even if, like me, you get spare Loki parts to kitbash non-phasing parts.

    Wonder Man

    fig0144flg.jpgfig0759flg.jpg
Wasn't going to list him because the second one is actually pretty decent but also because I was fortunate enough to get both and use the good parts from each to kitbash a really satisfying Minimate that is perfect, but he really could do with a new version for everyone else to get.

Honorable mentions to: Thanos (Infinity Gauntlet), 90s X-Men, Hyperion, Yellowjacket, Skaar, Nimrod and also almost any DC one...

I wouldn't mind a new Captain Britain. Can we get him in a pack with Red Guardian? That'd be awesome.

Only if Red Guardian can have an alt female chest block too (and alt female head) too!

Image result for defenders red guardian!

I do think Red Guardian is likely eventually - he's managed to have both Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe figures made already - but since he's a character that really is only going to be made for the recognizable design/costume and representation status as a notable flag hero rather than for any character - I'd really hate to get him and have DST miss the opportunity to get one more classic Defenders member out there.

Especially since otherwise her chances are zilch (despite being the most long-lived and notable of the Red Guardians).
