And count Scott as a figure, please. He has as much new tooling as any figure if not more.

Zach- is the cape detachable from the jar? Seems like a great opportunity for some new Doc Strange posings if so...

is anyone really surprised that DST isnt making minimates for   (fill in movie/tv show or game here)?

At this point, no. I think it's just sad to look back in a hindsight and see properties like Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron get such elaborate assortments and then to compare to the dwindling down we've had recently. Curious what the future may bring with things like the SDCC Avengers pack dropping, but the days of at least something for a film are long gone.

The Avengers scene the SDCC Marvel set is based on gets some good screentime in the Loki premiere. So that's cool. Great episode!

Very true. I'm such a sucker for all the nostalgic moments.

Speaking of- any discussion about Loki assortments? TVA agents would be fun army builders

    FWIW, Minimates were designed

Zach, any chance DST would ever release unused design concepts to the public. For these specifically, but any 'mates that didn't make the final cut? That would be so cool to see.

Again, all that makes sense. It's just sad to see DST unable to keep up with the higher capital companies like Hasbro and Funko that crank stuff out so quickly. Or at least that minimates don't get the same treatment and excitement as select figures

  5. Sadly, it makes sense. There would be way too much for them to keep up with at this rate of 4 films and however many D+ series a year, on top of producing comic based assortments. I'd be curious to see sales numbers of MCU waves compared to all comic and walgreens assortments- that would be my final hope that some would still be produced, but it does feel like it's the end of an era.

So with the show officially ended, are we DEFINITELY NOT getting Minimates?

What's the DST usual spiel? Never say never? These would be great but sadly I think we'd have seen something by now, especially given how long FATWS sets have been out. And there is no precedence for retroactively making corresponding sets for the films, so I think we're SOL on this one. Bummer.

I would still love a generalized "Disney+" assortment to encompass all the series coming our way- just titular characters, new looks, villains, etc. We definitely don't need all the side characters like Darcy, Woo, or even Ralph Bohner. Some are better than none, and sadly I think most of the shows are not going to get anything.

  7. I'm still in the camp of thinking these are fan mock-ups. The character choices seem off for DST, whereas a pack with Wanda and Vision in one of the sitcom era looks seems much more likely. Or if they are late releases, why wouldn't Wanda be in the new costume look the posters have been teasing? I wouldn't be mad at all if these are legit, getting any is better than none, but I'm skeptical.

Meanwhile, here's hoping for some 'MCU-inspired' waves for Specialty and mini MCU waves hitting Walgreens

Oh man, if there was just a general release wave for Disney+ that would be awesome. Much better chance of getting assortment from everything.

  9. Figured I'd start a thread solely for film and Disney+ releases seeing as we won't really go longer than 3 weeks without any new MCU content for the entire year (if these dates are mostly accurate):

    WandaVision: 1/15 - 2/19

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: 3/19 - 4/23

    Black Widow: 5/7

    Loki(probably): 5/21 - 6/25

Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings: 7/9

    What If...?: 7/16 - 9/17

    Miss Marvel(probably): 9/24 - 10/29

    The Eternals: 11/5

    Hawkeye(probably): 11/12 - 12/17

    Spider-Man 3: 12/17

Obviously we've already gotten two of these releases preemptively, hoping that DST can keep up for all these!

So it's great we're seeing it reused

Unfortunately it's not the same hood piece. Full shoulder/hood head cap that has an odd point at the top of it. Looks clean just an odd shape.

What kind of hair is Natasha sporting? Is it a pony tail?

Same hair Ayesha had in Vol. 2 set. Works well for this look though I'm going to trade it out for long hair.

Found in Atlanta. These are pretty excellent, and I'm just happy we got an assortment unlike Spidey. I think these were the most logical choices, as the Rachel Weisz character is an easy kitbash, and a white suite Natasha just needs a chest substitution. The only think that bothers me is Taskmaster's lack of accessories but I can't say that's a surprise. Red Guardian is a masterpiece in my opinion.

Just confused as to why these showed up with no announcement or reveal. Even for us forum nerds, no word whatsoever until an eBay listing. I think this is the most frustrating part of still collecting these. But anyway. Winter Soldier and Red Guardian look awesome together. Team Soviet!

  11. 9VxoncC.jpgAlright, far from perfect but here's my start on a custom MCU Mysterio. Biggest part is going to be trimming up the cape aaaaaand learning Illustrator to make a decent decal for the chest piece. Thinking I'll switch out arms and legs for the TRU version once I can afford it. Need green hands too!

I could go for more civilians, I think the idea that they should be skipped in the MCU is kind of dumb.

There would have been plenty of possibilities for a full wave, however many figures that is now: Iron Spider redo (add gauntlets), Night Monkey, upgraded Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Mysterio, alt look Mysterio, Ned, MJ, Happy (preferably with a giant check), Stark drones, Aunt May. It wouldn't have been hard to find an assortment in there that would be palatable to most fans.

I'd switch a couple of those out for Elementals maybe, but throw in some great accessories with civilian 'mates and that's a done deal. My best case scenario would be a retconned boxset with Mysterio, stealth suit, upgraded suit, and MJ. Ned isn't a necessity for me, though I certainly wouldn't mind him!
