NAME = Screen name I've used for years. I was on a bunch of Transformers sites and everyone was Optimus this, Prowl987654321, etc. So I wanted something that was a little more distinct. And I love words that start with "X" then "y". Mmmmm ... say "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz". [DISCLAIMER]I am a video game baby, playing since I was a kid ... but I was not aware of nor have I ever played the ancient game "Xybots". So no, no relation there.[/DISCLAIMER] AVATAR = Some of you may get it ... it's from the ooooooooold Art Asylum forum. It was one of the available avatars ... and I was into all things Marvel AND how I love pumpkins. So the "Marvel Pumpkin" avatar was a great fit. When the news came out that the boards were closing, I saved the pic for future use. Then, when all the great folks from there found our new home, I took that pic, flipped it and nega-tized it. I love how the letters look ... reminds me of Russian script. Just a nod to the place where we all met. And my quote under the avatar is a super-hard to figure out hidden message. (Oh whatever, just read it backwards.) EDIT: Am I crazy? Didn't we used to have quotes under the Avatars? * sigh * I'm losing it ... This has been your Xybot personal minute. Xy

Your "Secret Santa" purchased the gift through our store and indicated that it was for this. They told us where to ship it to ... we wrapped it up, added the little note and the extra goodies (hope you like the Transformers stuff, Dinobot!) and sent it on the way. No problem! Anything to help. I heart Christmas ... HO HO HO!

When you pre-order, your card is "authorized". It goes to your card / bank and puts a temp hold on the funds. That goes away within a few days (all banks / cards have different times). We then hold your secure account info and put the real charge on your account after the items come in. Whee! FUN! As for the BSG Cylons, YES! We will be offering single Cylons. These will be in limited numbers compared to the cases but we will definitely have them. (Man, I can't wait for those ...)

That sounds great ... I'll watch out for your order. Keep in mind that we do our initial order based on pre-orders received then a little over ALL THE WAY up to the ordering cut off. I believe that the cut off for the DC 'mates is 12/26/06. So there is a slight chance that the pre-orders will sell out. Thanks for the praise ... we love doing what we do.

Gotta say, when I first commented I was under the impression that you were just considering doing these ... I did not know that it was pretty much set. I really like your approach of contacting the fans first. See how they feel and go on from there. As you can tell, there are die-hard MiniMates fans who try and support the line whenever they can. Keeping the cost down for them will be a great way to make sure this line does well. I definitely like the idea of 4-packs vs. 5-packs. Again, to keep the price down. Another good point: Take it slow. Release 1 set and see how it goes. Like how DST is doing Battlestar Galactica ... they are releasing a "preview" wave of single-pack Cylons. And if you are able to get these out that quickly ... WOW! That would be incredible. Be sure to post concept art here when it is ready ... the good folks here will be sure to comment / critique. I think it's a reallllllllly bad idea. MiniMates need good, strong licenses. Not random, so-so licenses. Rocky = not so much Cereal 'Mates = not so much I Robot = no way, no how Like Santos said, the movie was alright ... but it's not a classic that's going to be remembered 10 years down the line (like LOTR will be). And like Rad said, the movie is pretty old now ... pretty much forgotten already. Another thing is: If they would do the NS5, wouldn't it be so close to a blank 'mate? Why not just do a set of multi-colored blank 'mates? Looks like Popbox already has some kind of license worked out for I, Robot. However, I think they may do better with 'mates if they pursued one of their other properties ... like ULTRAMAN! (heck yeah!) Or even Macross. Heck, DC and Marvel would be good too. As a fan, I say that IR 'mates would be a bad idea. As a retailer, I think it would be a bad idea: We wouldn't carry too many of them, probably just bare bones to have them around. But I would not expect these to sell. Just my initial thoughts. Xy

Just got inpiration for a con-exclusive 4-pack looking at those wave 4 picks: KINGDOM COME Flash (use the mold for Jay and make him translucent red) Deadman (give him a skull head and "battle damage") Superman (eeeeeeeeasy ... make him old and slight color change) Red Arrow (man ... just color swap and BAM!) ... oh, to dream.
