  1. As much as I love Miles, you are absolutely right; Sony, or Marvel or whoever is producing the Spider-man movies needs to establish Peter Parker first. That's partly why Miles became so popular in the Ultimate Comics; he was fulfilling a legacy of sorts, after people that read Ultimate Spider-man for 100 plus issues had become well accustomed to the Ultimate Peter Parker, they could then latch onto his charisma and power-set (plus more) in a fresh (yet familiar) character.
  2. I figured I would move the beginning of a conversation we started in the X-Men vs. Brotherhood Boxed Set thread here. What are you reading right now or have been reading recently? Whether it be books, comic books, graphic novels etc., this is the place to discuss them.
  3. I guess I'm pretty fortunate when it comes to the amount of trades my library stocks. I was able to read Whedon's Astonishing run, the Bendis Uncanny run, 90% of Bunn's Uncanny run, and the Bendis All New X-Men run. And let me tell you, I am now a pretty big fan of Bunn as a writer, especially after also reading the first few issues of X-Men Blue.
  4. Agreed, I've been able to check out some great X-Men comics from my library. And if you can't find it there, my go-to site to read comics is here (assuming you don't mind reading digital).
  5. Classic? As in the TRU Wave 2/Marvel Villains Box Set Magneto?
  6. True . . . . . . I guess this means we are getting MOTU minimates after all???
  7. I honestly just stared at this for a while in awe. I've been collecting the same area of mates since last year, and while I'm nowhere near this, I've come along way. I'm really impressed with the completion of all these teams. Anyways, in terms of displaying them, I third that Excalibur would look better together, and I typically, like others suggested, group my villains together. This is also a weird way to organize teams, but since mine are similarly grouped in rows like this, I organize the teams together and then organize them chronologically by publication, so for example, you begin with FA X-Men and end with All New X-Men.
  8. You're not wrong there. There was absolutely no licensing for Season 2, and all Season 1 got was a very short-lived action figure line. As a huge fan of the franchise I'd buy anything licensed Young Justice at this point; especially Minimates.
  9. Someday? Young Justice is confirmed to return in 2018 for a third season through a Netflix-like streaming service.
  10. I would lean towards Rogue since she has the most distinct costume variation.
  11. Oh, really? Did the peg holes in the feet change size from previous minimates then? I'll have to try this, thanks Edit: Got home, switched out a foot, fits nice and snug on the stand, thanks for the advice!
  12. Picked up the TRU assortment the other day, certainly one of my favorite waves to date, though a few significant quality control issues. Weapon X Wolverine seems to have one hand that is completely stuck in place (almost like plastic melted inside the joint?) and Lady Deathstrike has one extremely loose elbow joint (it moves w/o touching the arm). I think my favorite from this wave is Uncanny Magneto (mostly because I read this run), even though he can't use the floating stand included. Other highlights have to be Spiral and those fantastic hands, and of course the magnificent sculpts used to make Mojo. Another job well done DST!
  13. Seriously, what's so bad about Bendis?! I've read the entirety of the Miles Morales run on Ultimate Spider-Man, All-New X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men, and I really enjoyed them all! Is his writing just an acquired taste??
  14. Yes, but DST is a bit nifty about how they distribute female characters, it seems pretty rare for DST to do a female/famle pack in (unless some big names are involved ex. She-Hulk/Ms. Marvel, Thor/Cap. Marvel), it appears (at least to me) that a majority of female characters are packed with males, now I can't say if this is a scheme to better sales on female characters or just that there clearly aren't as many female characters in the Marvel universe as there are male.
  15. My biggest wants from future minimates (not including Overwatch): 1. Star Wars: First off, we will most likely never see movie or TV show based minimates because those two platforms are so well covered by other toy companies, however I believe we could see comic-based Star Wars 'mates. I'm a little befuddled on this because DST has licensing agreements w/ Marvel comics to make certain characters, so can DST extend this agreement to include Star Wars characters since Marvel is now producing Star Wars comics? Also would those characters include ones created while Star Wars comics was under the Dark Horse banner, because Marvel now owns the rights to those characters and hence why they are creating epic collections of old Dark Horse comics? I don't know if these would be DST Zac questions? But I think it's worth a look. 2. Game of Thrones: Similar to other people's thoughts on this license, there is such a rich cast of characters that could be converted to minimate form, with the possibility for a few army builders. I think the show is extremely well-written and obviously pretty popular, and is certainly targeted toward adults which means less competition with other toy retailers; Funko and McFarlane seem to be the only companies producing GoT collectible figures. 3. DC: Would love to see a return to DC comics for minimates, doesn't have to be just comics, as we've seen the Gotham 'mates have done well, so maybe Flash or Arrow minimates, or even a line based on the old dc animated universe that began w/ BTAS.
  16. I think this was in another thread that was savagely obliterated in the great update, but I think the Blizzard license is something to look into. So many good games to pull from: Overwatch, WoW, Diablo, Starcraft. I think Overwatch would serve itself to minimates best, just due to the well known character selection. I also thought Blizzard mates could be executed in a similar fashion to the recent Indy mates comic book heroes wave.
  17. Ah, maybe another TRU exclusive w/ Mantis and Kitty Pryde as Star Lady (even though I guess Mantis doesn't really fit with a Marvel Now wave). I was thinking of the Kitty Pride we see in ANXM and Uncanny X-men for the above, but I would also love to see her GOTG costume.
  18. To be fair, I would also buy the crap out of this wave. But if I thought reallistically on how this wave would be made, it would be Marvel Now comics costumes, something like this: Kate Bishop/Mockingbird Medusa/Kamala Khan All New X-Men X-23/Kitty Pryde (w/ Lockheed) Uncanny Magik/Tempus TRU Exclusive: Spider Woman/Silk
  19. Haha, I suppose when I meant new, I meant the previous incarnation written by Bendis. I currently haven't read the ANAD Uncanny X-men with the roster you're talking about. I really want to see an x-face Cyclops, all-white Magneto, and an updated Magik (in black leather costume). Also, I'm right there with ya' on the inability to afford all the comics I want to keep up with. Recently I've just been wating until TPB's release so I can grab them at my library.
  20. Can we please get some of the new Uncanny X-men costumes and characters?
