I'd be all over IDW turtles and co. It's my favorite iteration of the turtles to date.

Count me as another who doesn't want to miss out on these. Anybody else interested in splitting that hasn't already found a shipping buddy? I'm in Denver, and am willing to ship or be shipped to once they are in the states.

Idk if this has already been speculated on, but were we to get a 2nd box set, Duke, Roadblock, Destro, and Baroness would surely be the lineup right?

These look great imo! And something I will definitely pick up! And also I can't believe no one has mentioned Star Wars as also being under the Hasbro umbrella (or maybe I missed it), but that's also something I'd seriously love to see over any other Hasbro property. Though I'm guessing it would also require some licensing involvement from Lucasfilm as well?

I just watched a video using the DST Boba Fett as the primary reason that Hasbro no longer has a monopoly on the Star Wars action figure license, which really only seemed far fetched because that "evidence" was then used to acknowledge that Lego will most definitely be making a series of Star Wars collectible blind bag figures.

...since this is basically the same thought process we've all followed, I encourage this thread to run rampant with speculation...

I'd prefer more minifigure accessories included like blasters, lightsabers, alternate heads, energy effects, unique stands, small animals (like say Salacious Crumb, similar to how Rocket was handled as an accessory) over Build-A-Vehicle parts. Based on how Build-A-Figures were handled w/ Marvel, it felt like more pack-in accessories were sacrificed for the space to place BAF parts; though if that wasn't the case, this point is probably moot.

Unless the license would limit DST's ability to make vehicles like a landspeeder and sell it similar to how say the Aliens APC was packed, then I'd prefer things, like a landspeeder, speeder bike, Jabba, or probe droid to be included in say more deluxe style packs again akin to the Aliens line.

I'm going to assume a Deadpool 2 wave since it has more high profile characters that have had comic versions:

Deadpool (has had comic and movie versions)

Cable (has had comic versions)

Domino (has had comic versions)

Negasonic Teenage Warhead (completely new); I'm thinking this spot could also be Firefist but NTW has an actual superhero costume which I think makes her more appealing for a wave like this.

*Some side notes; based on Zach's clues I don't think you can really fill out 4 spots for the first movie, and Colossus isn't included because he's had both movie and comic versions, and that spot has to be taken by DP since he's the titular character.

As for future releases of older non-MCU Marvel films, my interest lies w/ the first 2 Raimi Spider-Man movies and the first 2 Blade movies. And since it sounds like the floodgates are perhaps open to at least the FOX movies I'd definitely be interested in seeing 'mates from the first Deadpool, Logan, and the first 2 X-Men movies. 

Your other films from FOX (that haven't had minimate releases) are; X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, New Mutants, the FF duology, Fant4stic, Elektra, and Daredevil.

Something tells me they aren't going to explore much in that above list.

If DST were able to pull something like this off, timing an initial release with the ending of BKV and Fiona Staple's hiatus could draw a lot of eyes towards their product. But that's also just me wishing

A screenshot of DST confirming we will see 82 for their virtual show as part of Comic-Con @ Home was posted on the MM FB group yesteraday. So, what better way to get the ball rolling than to speculate before the wave is revealed this weekend?!

Personally, I'm interested in Minimates delving into HOX/POX/DOX, but I also know there's been a lot of requests in more recent speculation threads for a new FF wave, Inhumans, Generation X and more...

Ooooh, don't get me started on those series. Dawn of the Jedi had a ton of fun, wacky potential, and was just an all around fresh concept and I think it maybe most of all out of those series was hurt the most by being condensed to 3 short story arcs especially after all the plot threads it seemed the first and second ones had introduced. Wood's OT series set between ep. IV and V was decent, if anything the one complaint I'd have is that the writing for Luke's character felt pretty far off, and it too was hurt by having to wrap all the loose threads in a single story arc. I have yet to read Legacy II but am interested solely is a follow up to the original Legacy series that I loved so much. 

My general opinion since Marvel had taken back over has just been that a lot of it hasn't felt fresh and new to the Star Wars universe, nothing really testing the limits of Star Wars storytelling; something I think Dark Horse runs like Dawn of the Jedi, or Legacy, or Tales of the Jedi, or even Dark Empire really tried to do, with varying degrees of success. I'm optimistic with the High Republic coming (even though it's been delayed) to spice up Star Wars comics a bit.

I'd be interested to see what Marvel does with these newly acquired licenses and if they plan to produce some Alien, Predator or Terminator ongoing or miniseries in the near future. I'm a big Alien fan, and could see myself picking up a new Alien comic, having never read any of the old Dark Horse stuff.

2017 was the last year we had a real plethora of non-Marvel minimates with 25 releases (box sets, regular waves, and TRU waves each counted as 1), 2 of which were promotional releases. 2018 brought only 6 releases, 1 of them being promotional and from a line that hadn't had a release since 2013. 2019 brought only 1 release and from a license that didn't have enough interest/sales to achieve a 3rd wave at retail. And as for 2020, it's brought not a single whiff of non-marvel minimates outside of a couple of box sets that also failed to achieve enough interest to be made. It's staggering to see the drop-off in the last 3 years, but at this point it can't drop off anymore. Here's hoping DST can find a profitable license for minimates that can last longer than a single wave or box set, or even just something that gathers enough interest to be released.

I know it was all the way back in 2014 when Disney acquired Star Wars, and transferred the comic license to Marvel but there's still some salt left in the wound from that one. Dark Horse made some truly brilliant Star Wars comics back in the day, and even as good as some of the newer Marvel runs have been, to me it still doesn't quite stack up. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking

I'd argue that's because we've already discussed to great lengths what licenses we'd like to see, and having done so several times, repeating those hasn't made minimates of them appear. When there hasn't been anything outside of Marvel to be excited about in terms of product announcements I think it's difficult to spark discussion on toys many believe will never be made. I get excited fantasizing about licenses and products that I think have the possibility to actually be produced; I'm losing that excitement, especially with no new licenses on the horizon.

Hmm, I could see it being N'astirh. One of the demons that helped catalyze the events of Inferno, and he has some resemblance in the face to Beta Ray Bill.

Edit: Some of other possibilities to throw out there besides S'ym and Belasco; Azazel (comic incarnation), and Darkchylde(? not sure if she counts since it is kind of just the alter ego of Ilyana)

There's a Spartain ODST in the single packs, a Spartan CQB in TRU Series 3, a Spartan Rogue in the Series 2 Box Set, and a Spartan Scout in TRU Series 2. I personally only own the Scout and the Rogue in that color and they match almost spot on.

And I"m not sure never said the line wasn't successful, I said it soured the market. That can also apply to a successful line with 37 releases. What, were we going to follow it up with another block figure line of the same characters? I should have said "saturated."

We're testing the waters now with VInimates, so maybe something will happen. I'd personally love to see Buffy Minimates. But I'd also love to see John Wick and Bruce Lee. I don't get what I want, apparently.

It's crazy that we can get an 8 figure wave for a backup story, but nothing so far from probably the most widely adored X-Men event since what? Maybe Schism? Maybe Messiah Complex? Maybe the early 90's? HoX - PoX - DoX has been some of the better quality stuff coming out of Marvel in the past few years; throw some minimates at it DST!
