  1. Wow, I'm really liking these Ghostbuster minimates. I hope there are gonna be more after Series 2.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ahem. You sir have made my day. I'm tempted to believe that a semi-retarded gorilla on PCP could probably do a better job.
  3. Hey Groundhog7s and Modefan, I can also sympathize with you two on receiving poorly shipped Minimates from TRU.com. Recently, I sent an email to TRU.com customer service to complain about the horrible bubble wrap packaging they send them in. I got both and email and voice message response to which I gave them my full explanation and recommendation. Likewise they said they had no control over it, but that they would document a note regarding my concern/complaint. They also apologized and offered an exchange (to which I declined because had I already opened them). Well, to my amazement the next shipment of minis (5 Battlestar Galactica 2-packs) arrived in a box with padding. They were all in great condition. However, based on the shipping method documented on my online receipt, I think my GhostBuster order is coming the old way again (in bubble wrap). Arghhh!!! I can already imagine the damage. Anyways, in short, I think we should definitely complain if an order arrives in a poor condition. Strength in numbers I say. They are making us pay good money for shipping. They can at least use a box and some decent padding. I plan on taking some photos of the next damaged order and sending it to their customer service department to let them know once again that this is unacceptable. Sorry for the rant.
  4. Minimate Headquarters has posted a nice review of the Ghostbusters box set that was released today: http://www.minimateheadquarters.com/?p=601
  5. Hey Turtle, I called to complain about the expensive shipping charge when they shipped five of the new Battlestar Galactica sets. This was a shipment of a partial order (I believe I had 15 items total). TRU customer support said they charge for shipping on the entire order first, and that subsequent shipments on the same order should not incur another shipping charge. We'll see. I hope that helps.
  6. The classic solutions I think for this are: a. Stick the Minimate head in the freezer overnight, then hope that the ice loosens the helmet b. Soak the head in hot water, then hope that the helmet plastic expands enough to get taken off. These are things I'd try if brute force (trying to pull off the head yourself until your fingers get arthritis) doesn't work. Thanks NorthRaider. I'll give those suggestions a try.
  7. I don't know if any has asked this before, but after putting on the AIM helmet (on one of the AIM soldiers - not myself ) I can't seem to get it back off. A real tight fit. Any suggestions? If not, I'm thinking that if I buy a few of these AIM army builders that I should save one of the heads (without the mask), and use a head/face that I don't mind seeing again to be a place holder for the helmet. That way I can easily swap the different AIM looks back and forth.
  8. You're a great guy Jeff for doing that.
  9. It looks like AFX will have these as giveaways at the SDCC... under the topic "Minimate Keychains Giveaways at San Diego Comic-Con!" http://afxblog.com/
  10. Very cool. Hmmm.... my Fantastic Four minimates are getting kinda bored just fighting Doom. so the Molecule Man got my vote.
  11. Sorry if this is a repost, but toysrus.com has three sets of Terminator minimate preorders up: http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kw...254197&sr=1 I don't know if any are exclusives though. Update: Sorry, it looks like it is covered in this thread: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...0&start=140 (Admins feel free to delete this one)
  12. Wow! Nice set. Maybe they can make Ghost Rider's head glow-in-the-dark, since they are doing that with the Ghostbuster's Stay Puft MM man. If not, still a great bunch of new 'mates.
  13. I whole heartily agree with your assessment groundhog7s: "At this point, I think we should be thankful for anything that comes our way. Most toy lines don't make it this far and anything that keeps it going is good to me." More Marvel Minimates is always good news in my book. We may not all get the Marvel characters we want (now), but at least we're getting some releases. Remember what happened to DC minimates...
  14. I think he meant out of the package. Oops.. sorry 'bout that.
  15. Hi minijeff, It looks like Onyx 6 previously posted some pics of the other box sets on page 10 of this thread: Here a link: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...5656&st=180
  16. Sorry if someone may have already posted an image, but just in case, here's a pic of the Spock minimate given out at this years toyfair. http://www.cooltoyreview.com/DST_mm_ST_TF2009Spock.asp And why Diamond Select/AA chose this particular minimate: http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2009/02/star...he-torch-again/
  17. Looking forward to getting a multitude of A.I.M. agents. http://www.cooltoyreview.com/TF2009/DSTMarvel1/image3.asp
  18. I hope these will be available online like the Tony Stark/Stealth Iron Man one.
  19. Yeah I'm guessing an AFX exclusive as well. So would it be a 2-pack or 4/5 pack? If I'm not mistaken, the classic red angel was featured alot on the Champions team. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champions_(comics) A boxset perhaps?
  20. Hey All, So I found this posted on AFX's blog (February 9th post). Not sure of the validity of this, but nonetheless interesting. http://shopafx.typepad.com/
  21. Well, according to this site (as well as DC Direct's) it looks like they should hit next Wednesday, June 11th. http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/10352.shtml Michael
  22. Hey Matt, This might lend some insight into the Wasp's costumes: http://www.geocities.com/ragnodimaggio/ind-eng.htm Michael
  23. Speaking of which ... some websites with great IM cover references: http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/tales-of-suspense/2 and http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/iron-man
  24. Opps.. forgot to mention Jim Hanley's Universe on 33rd near the Empire State Building is pretty good too. Pickle, I don't know if the hotel question was for me, but on my two trips to NYC I stayed at different hotels. First time, the Hotel Pennsylvania. I thought this place was horrible. Personally, I would not recommend this hotel. Second time, the Hotel Mela. This place was great. Small rooms but clean and relatively new. When I visit NYC again, I'm definitely booking my stay there.
  25. Hey CC, I haven't been to Collector's Universe before. However, I would recommend visiting Midtown Comics. They usually have a good selection of toys and comic books. Also I just walked by the FYE in Times Square, but didn't go in. It looked like a decent size store that would of carried Minis. Have fun in NYC. I love that city.
